The proprietors, Jennifer and Greg, were wonderful to work with and accommodated our special requests to help make our wedding everything we had dreamed of. The appetizers, dinner, and specialty cocktails were all beautifully prepared and received rave reviews from our guests. Those who stayed in the inn and apartments commented on the charming accommodations and especially appreciated the comfortable beds. We fell in love with the home's stunning architecture and antique furnishings, which blend seamlessly with modern comforts and amenities. Our international guests were particularly enchanted by the house, saying that this more than 100-year-old Virginia home was exactly what they had imagined when picturing the historic beauty and charm of Virginia. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect setting for our wedding celebration and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique, elegant, and memorable venue.

Total relaxation with every detail taken care of. First the husband/wife innkeepers Shawn and Steve were amazing and cared so much that we had a wonderful stay. We had my elderly parents w us in their ground floor room called the "Islandscape"and we had one of the main house "Narada" room. The view and location were fantastic. The breakfasts were special 3 course including fresh fruit and something sweet and savory. The baked goods every day by Shawn showed her love and talent for baking--even a goodie bag at our departure. If I lived closer, I would come more often! There's a game room, binoculars, hot chocolate w mini marshmallows, beautiful sitting areas to enjoy the view throughout the property including the front porch where we hung out after dinner. The restaurant right across the street about a stone's throw away at Charles Street served tapas and seafood w live jazz in a Sat night. We also tried Bugeye Grill another night and they were fantastic too. Never really had to get back in the car as you can walk just a few blocks up to the main part of town w a few shops and restaurants. Right next door is an outdoor salty tiki bar that looks fun when it warms up more. I could go on and on. Oh, and Calvert Cliffs park is only 10 min away by car where you can find shark teeth and fossils, which we did! Soo much better than a hotel or airbnb!

Solomons' famous pedestrian harbor is within easy walking distance. To me, that sets this place apart. There's great attention to details here; husband & wife innkeepers Steve and Shawn are genuine, competent and congenial hosts. Stayed on the second floor of the carriage house, in Sunset Harbor room. It's a lovely accommodation, with a nice, deep soaking whirlpool tub. A private balcony is icing on the cake. Thoughtfully designed common areas are found in the main house as well as outdoor seating in the gardens and large yard. Canopy landscaping in the gardens creates a micro-cooling climate and makes this spot noticeably refreshing. Breakfast, a plated service, is gourmet and plentiful.

Innkeepers Jodie and John have left nothing to chance and in her own words, Jodie says that she learns something new with each new visitor, striving to accommodate every want and need. For example, when a guest complained of not having a specific blend of tea, Jodie made sure from that point on to have a wider selection. This attention to detail is evident from the moment you walk through the doors of the stately Victorian, originally built for the first mayor of Colonial Beach. The owners wanted furnishings to match the time period of the majestic home, but didn't want an overly feminine look as is common with Victorian decor. They found a perfect balance. Plush furniture in the living room (it's like sitting on a throne!) in muted colors with antiques and historic paintings on the walls. I imagine the owners going through each room, as if they were guests themselves, anticipating every possible need a visitor might want. There is a shoe rack at the door, earplugs next to your bed, and every type of sweetener (sugar, raw sugar, sugar substitute), coffee and tea you could desire. There was even a special dark colored, plush towel for removing makeup so I wouldn't feel bad mucking up the white ones. Speaking of towels...they are just one more attention to luxury detail. Super fluffy and absorbent. Bathroom rugs are like walking on a cloud. My room even had a whirlpool tub! The bed is so soft and has so many pillows, you could spend your whole weekend right there. Freshly baked homemade cookies greet you upon arrival. Breakfast (prepared to your liking) is served in your room. (My room had two separate seating areas, in addition to the bedroom. Queen for a day!) Jodie and John were so kind, warm, accommodating and helpful. I can't wait to go back!

Not only was the interior of the Inn impeccable, from its cleanliness to it's time set furniture and ambience but also, my room, the King Charles Suite, was huge and provided every comfort of home. In addition to every necessary amenity, I was also able to be super efficient at work as the internet was very fast and reliable. Jody was the absolute best host anyone could ask for. She was friendly and knew what I needed before I even asked for it. She was an amazing cook also, preparing the best cedar plank salmon I have ever had! All her meals were freshly made and delicious, accompanied by fresh herbs and veggies from her garden. I have definitely found my go-to place to stay when traveling to Colonial Beach!

Modern but still captured the old coastal feel. It was super musty and smelled like it. There was a dehumidifier but it was so small, in two nights we actually had to dump the water bucket 4 times. And if we left all day, we came back to a damp room. I'm not sure what causes that - we live in a super humid area and don't have the same issue, but maybe a larger humidifier would help. The breakfasts were fantastic - you can order anything off their restaurant menu. I didn't have anything bad, everything was super fresh and came in huge portions. I do wish they had an espresso machine but the coffee was okay. Check out was also a breeze. This isn't a luxury location, my main complaint was the price for it feels steep, but it's one of the only spots in the area which is probably why they can charge so much. Overall, a great stay and I would definitely come back here if I was in the area again.
