This place has been on our list to visit for their traditional and popular fish boil (an evening…read moreevent), but instead we dropped in here for a Sunday lunch for our first visit. The spacious restaurant was not very busy. Our server was busy though as she covered several tables including several of their popular patio tables. I ordered their fish-n-chips plate lunch for $15. Wife ordered their lake perch plate lunch for $22 but requested the perch grilled instead of fried. She actually wanted the whitefish plate lunch but they were out of whitefish at the time. Both plates came with buttered rye bread and that was a nice, and relatively unique, accompaniment to the fish and fries. Our server first brought out a plate of fried perch but quickly realized the error and promptly brought out the correct grilled perch plate. The grilled perch didn't look grilled, and may have been baked or even microwaved. It was in ok range for her, but I probably enjoyed my conventional cod fish-n-chips more than she did her perch.

For the main course, I ordered the browned butter Walleye. I've never eaten Walleye before, but I definitely will going forward. It was beyond delicious! Somewhat sweet. The browned butter glaze was amazing! You should do yourself a favor and try it! I chose mashed potatoes, which were real and delicious. It came with some gravy because, well, its potatoes. Gotta live some, lol. It also came with some bread that, if it wasn't homemade, I'd be very surprised. Lastly, there was some cole slaw, which, while I'm not a gan, I think most people would enjoy. The server could not have been nicer. Very friendly and helpful. Overall, great place! I can't wait to go back.

No drinks, no "we will be with you shortly" or anything. We just sat there. Finally a server came over and said they had a big group come in and it was causing some backup and the host should have told us; he didn't. The drinks and appetizer came quickly and the street corner appetizer was very good; I would order it again. Once the appetizer was finished we sat with empty glasses for a good while. Again, no communication. Once the food arrived, things got much better. Wraps were good, not great. My daughter's pizza was good. With all the restaurants in the area, they will need to up their game on service.

The property is surrounded by woods, which gives it a peaceful, cabin in the north-woods kind of vibe. The lake views are really gorgeous but good luck getting one... By the time we checked in all those rooms were taken, so we ended up with a stunning view of a parking lot and some trees. Postcard material, if the postcard is from a rest stop! Walking into the room, the first thing that hit us was this strong, leftover food smell - like someone had just cooked something super spicy and the scent decided to stay for the weekend. It wasn't exactly the fresh, clean place we were hoping for. And to top it off the other side of the building had its own thing going on - its own kind of funky, musty odor that hung in the air. Not AWFUL, but noticeable. Not the kind of scent that says "welcome" more like "something weird went in the walls". The room did not do itself any favors either, there were dust, and dirt in random spots, and when we made the mistake of checking under the couch and cushions, we discovered a little time capsule of old food crumbs and debris. Cozy! It looked like the furniture had not been updated in a while - unless " 1990s cabin chic" is making a comeback. On the bright side, the shower actually worked pretty well - hot water, great pressure. Honestly that was probably the highlight of the room. Outside there is some tennis courts , and a basketball hoop. Which is a nice touch if you are into that kind of thing, ( or if you need to burn off frustration from your room situation.) Overall the Landmark has potential - the location is solid and the grounds are peaceful - but the rooms REALLY need more attention and care. If they put in the effort to clean better and refresh the interiors, this could be a great spot. Until then, maybe bring some freshener, and DO NOT look under the cushions, and keep your expectations in check!

Overall this is a good resort in a beautiful location.  Rooms here are centrally managed but…read moreprivately owned so there will be some variation in decor and condition although most of the furnishings look similar.  There are 16 room types ranging from 1-3 bedrooms with king/queen bed variations and all have full kitchens which is convenient.  However because there are so many room types it's very important to know what you are getting or you could end up being really disappointed - Having stayed in 4 room types here this would be my general advice in choosing a room: Lake view is better than "woods" view ("woods" view one bedrooms are on the parking lot level (2nd floor) looking out at the parking lot through some trees). Lake view on 2nd and 3rd floor is preferable than the lower level (1st floor) which may not have much of a view but more natural light than woods view "Premier" rooms come with a much larger living room area so much better for extended stays (if I were to stay here again the lake view premier one bedroom will definitely be my first choice). If lake view rooms are not available and you have to book a woods view room - go for a two bedroom suite with loft which is located on the 3rd floor (one level up from the parking lot).  These rooms have much higher ceilings (due to the loft) and more natural light than the rooms below.  Even if you don't need the second bedroom it's fun to sleep in the loft. Now in case you have to book a one bedroom woods view room, don't get one that is right next to an entrance.  Being on the ground floor these rooms are already super dark and cave like, but if it's also right next to an entrance you won't even be able to keep the blinds open as there will be no privacy.  All rooms have a patio but the patio right next to an entrance and walkway is practically useless (we stayed in this room for one night and it was miserable). If you like your room here, you'll have a great time.  Room decor a bit old fashioned - lots of brown colors, and the beds tend to be too soft, but clean and comfortable enough and the showers are hot and strong. There are several buildings and each has its own pool (to splash in but not really for swimming). There is a pretty walking trail on the grounds and tennis courts. The restaurant is good with a nice outdoor deck with sunset views. Downtown Egg Harbor is a short drive or a  medium walk away.   Service is excellent - we had to change rooms a few times (had to get out of the first one and the place was full with no other rooms available for more than one to two nights) and staff was really helpful in making sure the changeover went smoothly.

We had a queen size bed. There was also a small fireplace (gas) and a whirlpool tub. Cute patio , that faces the bay. The view is slightly obscured by trees and marsh grasses. The usual amenities. Mini fridge, one cup coffee pot and hair dryer. Unfortunately, we found the bed to be extremely uncomfortable. It was like laying on the floor. The pillows were down, but the kind that flattened and stay flat. The water in the shower is just gross. It left you feeling slimy. Never clean. My hair was a giant knot, no matter how much conditioner I used. Unfortunate. There is no microwave in the room. However , there is one by the coffee bar in the lobby. They also had a mini fridge with juices and flavored water. They did not offer water or ice anywhere. This was a huge inconvenience. We drink a lot of water and ice would have been nice. We did end up buying a case of water. As cute as the Blacksmith inn is, I would not go back. If you're not getting a good nights sleep it really affects your vacation. And not feeling clean after showering ick

We arrived on Friday 9/12, and the check-in process went well, the room was nice, and everything seemed ok. We were told that the housekeeping service would come in daily and remake the beds, cleanup the room, remove and replace any used towels and empty the garbage and resupply any coffee and toiletries needed. This was true only the first day. The second day we were out for the day and came back late and noticed that nothing had been touched? We went to bed and figured they would come back the next day. Nope...nothing. We had to empty our trash and reuse the "towels, etc. I had to go to the office get my own coffee supplies, etc. The only response I got was "Sorry"...help yourself to what you need. No....what is your room number? so, we will make sure they service you tomorrow. Nope...didn't happen. The worst part was the extremely loud pipe banging noise that began off and on from 12:00 midnight to around 4 am the last night we were there. It was intermittent and lasted 30 minutes each time it happened. No sleep for us that night. We went to the office to report it and were told.....we have had that happen in the past...and the obligatory "Sorry".....Very dismissive and after I explained the lack of room service and the noise that kept us up the response was an amazing," Sorry but we hope you will come back" followed by a smile? Very disappointing.....customer service? I hope future potential visitors have a better experience than we did... not a good birthday weekend. . They seem to not to care about living up to what they promise they will do. We will definitely not be returning here!!!

Rating: 2.5 stars…read more My family came to stay here for 2 nights while we explored Door County. We went on Wednesday and left on a Friday. When we first arrived Wednesday afternoon, the lady at the front desk was kind of rude, standoffish and didn't really want to answer any of our questions. Walking through the hallway, everything looked very antiquated. When we got into our room I was disappointed to see that our over $350 a night room was pretty dilapidated, old and tiny. However, there was a small mini fridge and microwave available which was nice. There is free wifi available but can be fairly laggy. The resort itself is located right across the street from the water so you get a nice view of the water and you do get a small balcony to sit on with some patio furniture; however, there always seemed to be so many mosquitos there so I never did go outside. There is free breakfast available for guests. There were a few trays available for guests to bring their food up to their room. The selection was pretty simple but filling with some fruit, cereal and frozen jimmy jones breakfast sandwiches. There was a guy working in the breakfast room one morning that was kinda rude but apart from him and the lady at the front desk all of the other staff were quite friendly especially the housecleaning staff. All in all, a fairly average accommodation that wasn't too impressive; however, if you're not planning on staying in your room for too long while exploring Door County it may be adequate.
