When I first opened the door I was impressed by the size of the room, huge is all I can say. The bed was warm and cozy, buy was I tired after a long day. The suite consisted of a living room, bed room and bathroom. Even the bathroom was huge. In the morning I was greeted by a beautiful picturesque view of the falls. The Inn also provided a Continental Breakfast, and the best thing ever for a morning, a Kureg coffee maker with a selection of various coffees. The host was amazing, showing us the rooms and describing anything we might need to know. The place is Amazing and I suggest a stay when ever you're in the area. Sorry, some of the photos are blurry because I had a screen on the window. I forgot to mention that the bathroom had a Jacuzzi.

The owners greeted us warmly and warmed up our cottage before we got there. The cottage is a very simple layout, full kitchen and ours was the Ruska which has 3 bedrooms. Even though we were there in December they did not have enough snow for cross country skiing or snow shoeing. It was a bummer but the owners let us rent our sleds and ice skates at no charge because of mother natures inability to cooperate during the holiday week. They also set up a nordic bowling game on the frozen lake which was fun. We were also able to take a hike on the snowshoe trail which also appealed to us. The negatives were that their food if you chose to eat at their little restaurant was terrible (bring your own food!) and that when you do cook you have to make sure to clean up after yourself (no house keeping) It was a nice get away with the hubby however I want our next winter escape to be a little more pampered.

As a price benchmark, the Delta hotel in Utica was about 2.5 times the Travelodge cost. You might not want to spend all day at the Travelodge but it's fine for a vacation base. It's clean and everything works. Negative points are the lighting and Wi-Fi. But one huge positive for me is the location, if you're into small towns. So many motels these days are in the middle of nowhere, next to a highway and a gas station. Travelodge is walkable to food, coffee and the scenic river and canal area.
