I stayed here after visiting Cooperstown for the Glimmerglass Opera Festival. I'm a swimmer so I loved the outdoor pool! The continental breakfast was standard fare like coffee, oatmeal, yogurt muffins, hard boiled eggs. It's not fancy but did the trick to get us on the road. There is a Denny's across the parking lot if you want a hot breakfast. This is one of the nicest budget hotels I've stayed in and I'd definitely return.

Centrally located to Cooperstown and Erie Canal. The B&B was better than I had imagined it to be. The historical structure holds an interesting past and has been newly renovated inside and out. VERY clean inside and out. The cook to order breakfasts were second to none. Loved being able to visit with Brick!! Jason went above and beyond with arranging a pastor to perform our renewal and arrange for a wonderful dinner at Beardsley Castle (a must see). Our room was comfortable, slept better here than at home! It was also a convenient location; lots to discover nearby.

But if you're a weary traveler looking for an inexpensive place to have a hot shower and sleep for the night, you'll want something more name-brand. Trust me. The extra $10 you save by staying here is NOT WORTH IT. Not even for the free nightmares and hair left behind by the cleaning staff. Just driving up to this place gave me the urge to Yelp it, and that desire only got stronger the longer I stayed, which ended up not being very long because the smoke smell of the (non-smoking) room and the overdry air from the non self-regulating heater had me completely dried out within hours, the bed was scratchy, and I had the distinct feeling that the man in the room next to ours who bragged that he lives in this place for weeks at a time was hard at work packaging for transport either stolen goods or a body. Not interested in my belongings or my person being added to his inventory, I left six hours after I arrived, turning in my key to a silent, surly woman on my way out. Don't let this hotel happen to you. Go anywhere else. ANYWHERE ELSE. You won't regret it.

When I found their website, I was immediately attracted to the decor. I LOVE antiques! We booked our stay for the Tiffany Rose suite. Shortly after we booked our stay, we received an email from Barry. He asked if we were staying for anything inparticular (wedding, anniversary, etc.). He also asked if we had any dietary restrictions because he prepares breakfast every morning of your stay. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by both Barry and Denise. They gave us a tour of the Victorian and then showed us to our room. I was in awe from the moment we pulled in the driveway. They also gave us some ideas for places to eat and things to do. Now let me tell you about breakfast...all I can say is WOW! Our 1st morning we walked downstairs to the smell of bacon and piano music playing. We walked into the dining room to find 2 beautiful place settings for us, with juice, coffee and fresh fruit waiting. Denise came out and grabbed our plates, then brought them back out with the most delicious breakfast. We got to start our morning with a crustless quiche, hashbrowns, and "my dad's bacon", as Barry called it. So we got to start our morning, and every morning we were there, with full, happy bellies. It was a great start to each morning! Each morning was something different, but equally delicious. If I have my choice, I will skip hotels and stick with B&Bs. If you are traveling to the Herkimer/Cooperstown area and not traveling with children under 13, I highly recommend the Raindrops on Roses B&B. There are also some cabins for rent - I can't comment on them as I was staying in a regular room. The private beach on Seventh Lake is cute, lots of seating, a deck extending over the water, and a water slide. The proprietor goes out of her way to make guests feel welcome, with nice touches such as free hot coffee and toast in the office each morning (along with the small coffee maker that is in each room). The motel is just down the road (a mile or 2 at most) from downtown Inlet, a quaint Adirondack village with shopping and restaurants that is not at all overdone (I consider Old Forge to be overdone). Also just down the road the other direction from Inlet a couple hundred yards is a seaplane place where you can take beautiful short flights. Lots to do in the summer. Many well-marked hiking trails, fishing, swimming, etc all nearby. Great fun at a great price!
