But one huge positive for me is the location, if you're into small towns. So many motels these days are in the middle of nowhere, next to a highway and a gas station. Fieldstone Farm is a breath of fresh air in a world full of cookie-cutter hotels and motels. You can stay in a cabin, or one of the other townhouses in the middle of "Farm Central" upstate New York. I always see a multitude of wildlife. They just got a new boat with a shade for the big pond, so you can hang out all day on the water without getting sunburn. They have some nice amenities like a tennis court, volleyball court, basketball court, game room/arcade, a nice size in the ground outdoor pool, billiards room and another smaller pond for fishing. There's a nice rolling stream too. The view from the top of the hill is absolutely stunning. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. Pictures don't do it justice. I can't wait to go back.

Once we figured out the route we found it to be quite convenient to Cooperstown and surrounding attractions, and the views are magnificent. The stars at night were incredible. I loved the area and was glad to be away from the traffic and congestion up and down the lakefront. The owners of the Fieldstone Farm, John and Jeannie, were very friendly and accommodating. Hotel only offered noon or $175 to stay until 2:30. Nice property otherwise, but that policy is unreasonable. A couple extra hours for a loyal guest shouldn't cost almost two hundred dollars.
