I booked a couples massage for my boyfriend and I. I was really looking for a relaxing session after a long work week. We went on a Friday evening. "Disappointed" doesn't even begin to describe the experience. Communication from the spa appeared to be very good. They had texted and called before our appointment. I had told as well as written to them, describing what I was looking for, which was a relaxing massage with some deep work on my shoulders and back. I was VERY CLEAR about what I needed. The decor is ok, clean but dated. The massage room was adequate, but I don't recall any soothing lavender scents or anything. The website photo for the Date Night Massage is terribly misleading! No flowers or champagne flutes in sight. (see below) Massage therapists Loriann (mine) and Mary conferred with us regarding our expectations. Again, I mentioned that I had a lot of tension in my upper back and wanted more pressure/kneading. We weren't given robes, and there weren't hooks to hang up our clothes so we just tossed them on a settee in the corner. For the first half of the massage with Loriann, I was becoming progressively annoyed and anxious because I asked her FIVE TIMES to please use more pressure on my neck, back and shoulders. Usually a therapist can feel the tension/knots and they work on it without a directive. I actually used the headrest to demonstrate what I wanted her to do on my back! I feel like this massage was more of an oil application for my skin than therapy for my muscles. Part of the couples massage includes a choice of aromatherapy or CBD oil, and I had chosen the latter. Five minutes in, I mentioned the CBD and they weren't using it. The massage came to a halt while they left to find the proper oil. After the massage was half over, I just gave up on getting what I wanted and tried to relax and enjoy it for what it was, but it didn't get any better. Legs and feet were hardly worked on at all. I was so annoyed after stopping Loriann so many times that I was more tense after it was over. I'd spent $180 and was looking forward to a romantic relaxing experience. Inner Beauty didn't deliver. My boyfriend said his massage was just ok. It didn't feel like there was anything particularly special about the evening except that we were in the same room. It wasn't luxurious and we certainly did not feel pampered at all when we left. read more

My fiancé and I came here for a couples massage, we've been to other spas for couples massage and I've had numerous massages from various different places to compare. Our first impression was the lack of welcoming upon entering the building from the secretary. She wasn't warm and I had to ask for her to fill the new client form out for us, which she didn't seem aware of. There was no questionnaire about allergies, ailments or places that needed massaged and places you don't want touched like many other spas I've been to. We sat and waited about 20 minutes before we were greeted by our massage therapists James and Ellen ( we were early). The atmosphere is nice but dated. The waiting area was comfortable but no refreshments were offered like many other spas I've been to. They automatically had me with the male therapist and my fiancé with the female without asking preference. A lot of women prefer another woman so I found this surprising. James seemed very professional and made me feel comfortable so I didn't see a reason to switch. He did a great job at working on the problem areas I said I had and seemed to have extra training in manipulation ( I later read he used to be a PT assistant so this explains that). I thoroughly enjoyed my massage and would happily go back for another with him. My fiancé said he had a nice massage with Ellen but he sensed she was a bit rushed. After finishing they had water and business cards waiting for us and made sure to ask how everything felt. On checking out we were again not impressed with the lack of personality or warmth from the front desk person. Full spa day 6/30/2021 On the recommendation of another NH local massage therapists, we (my fiancé and I) booked our full "the works" spa day at Inner Beauty Connection on Nashua, NH. The purpose of this spa day was to celebrate not only my 40th birthday, but also 6/29 was my 20 year career anniversary of being a full-time massage therapist. I work physically and emotionally very very hard and really look forward to having treatments for my own self-care. Which is exactly why we drove from NY to NH to spend this week relaxing, recharging and paying to RECEIVE our own nurturing. When I called about a month prior to book our appointments, I spoke to a very friendly and helpful booking person who helped me pick out the best, most pampering, most EVERYTHING spa treatments for myself and my fiancé. I was very clear that I wanted ALL THE THINGS for myself and was specifically looking to be ultra pampered for my 40th. I also made it crystal clear that I really NEEDED the deep tissue bodywork because of the amount of bodywork I give each week. * What I booked for my partner: 90 minute deep tissue ($115) with added CBD oil ($15) =$130. What he received: 90 minute deep tissue massage with Mary who is an incredible massage therapist and really worked with him to customize his treatment. No CBD. We were charged $115 for just the DT massage. * What I booked for myself: 60 minute deep tissue ($95) plus CBD ($15) plus body polish ($85) plus a 90 minute facial ($105) = $300 What I received: 60min, less than Swedish massage with a LMT who was playing on her phone with one hand throughout my entire treatment - very frustrating and noticeable, especially since I'm a massage therapist and can notice when I therapist is not present and picking up her phone/ typing responses, etc. the pressure and technique was less than a standard relaxation/Swedish massage. The reason this is frustrating is because I booked a Deep Tissue and I REALLY NEEDED THIS WORK! I needed focus work and my massage therapist didn't ask me anything about my body/injuries/preferences/focus areas prior or during my treatment at all (even though the description of her massage per the company website states that she specializes in customized massage for each clients needs). I did ask for more pressure on my back area where she started - although she did go a bit deeper for about 10 mins, it was clear to me that she was not a deep tissue massage therapist. Disappointing, especially since when I booked I talked to the staff about my needs and experience as a DT massage therapist myself. No CBD was mentioned or used for my massage either. My body polish was fine. I'm especially glad that I had it, since my other treatments ended up being short of technique and time. My facial was 60 mins, rather than 90 mins. And was really two back-to-back mini facials. There was no double cleanse and no exfoliant. I even had a mask applied OVER a moisturizer at one point, which of course creates a barrier from the mask penetrating my skin. There was some manual extraction, but only on my nose and nothing more than I could have done at home. Because of my 20 years experience working in the spa industry, I do know what a luxurious and thorough facial treatment feels like -- and what I received at Inner Beauty Concepts was neither thorough or luxurious. The facial room is also in their staff kitchen area - so, I could hear the staff having their lunch (forks on plates etc.) I do know that spas cannot be completely silent, but my treatment door was OPEN to the kitchen. I know sometimes I have high expectations when I get massages because I know how hard I work and how present I am with my clients during our time together. But texting and shorting me services and time is over the top and so so disappointing. After my services, I did have to mention to the desk staff some adjustments that needed to be made and clarify what was booked. Her answer to all of the mistakes was, "it must have been a miscommunication." To which, I said, "well, that's A LOT of miscommunication... and it's super disappointing because I REALLY needed this work today and based my entire birthday trip around this experience here at the spa." She did not apologize to me for all the "miscommunication" but did adjust my bill to accommodate for the services that we actually did receive. I wanted to spend $430 and had generous crispy cash tips ready for the providers. But ended up paying $370 and had to leave only 15% tips because the experience was so disappointing. This was a loose/loose/loose for everyone. Super cute spa! Wish I would have had the relaxing experience that I paid hundreds of bucks for! If you go, see Mary for massage! This is a really nice place! From the minute you walk in, you can tell the place is a little slice of relaxation in a hectic world. Soothing music, friendly employees, and to top it all off, treats like cookies, cheese and crackers, even beer/wine while you wait. I came here with my wife for a 60 minute couples massage. My wife has never had a massage, and I've only had one at another location. This was by far a better experience. The masseuses were very accommodating in terms of pressure, problem areas, and areas that myself/my wife didn't want touched. It was just so relaxing and made me feel like a new man. The only complaint I have (which isn't really a complaint) is that the hour went by FAR too quick. Both wifey and I were very satisfied with our experience at IBC and we will definitely be back. I had an absolutely wonderful massage here. I'd return here for a massage no questions asked. I got a facial after my massage. I left feeling horrible about myself. I treated myself for my bday to a facial and massage. I don't have terrible skin. I generally get facials to feel pretty and relax a time or two a year. The esthetician gasped in horror over my skin, tutted over me like I was beyond help, made it clear she could not do nearly enough for me, talked down to me the entire time. Yes, my skin is a little dry. It's January (this happened in January, fyi) and is like 17 degrees outside, we are all a smidge dry. I was asked if I ever wash my face (I had no breakouts at this time, I can get away just fine without makeup and my face and body were clean) and told I needed an entire other facial to "deal with your pore situation. I don't even know how that happens." Thanks for that boost of confidence! I asked about the cleanser used, as I did like it. I was told I'd get a list of the products used. I got dressed and came to the desk to pay. There was a pile of about a dozen products, some which she told me recommends to women in their 50's. I am in my mid 30's. Ive never smoked, I don't tan and I don't have issues with deep or heavy wrinkles. When I said I was only taking the cleanser, I was told I needed to buy a scrub as well. It was $80. The total cost of the products I was told I MUST buy would have cost several hundred dollars. When I said again I was only taking the cleanser, the esthetician hovered over me, demanding i make another appointment. She also demanded to know exactly what I use on my face. At this point I want this woman to leave me be. I tell her. She still wouldn't leave. So I made another appointment, which I then canceled. This was, hands down, the worst facial experience I've ever had. I like getting education from the estheticians. I don't mind products recommendations. I don't mind suggestions for future treatments. I did not pay to be insulted for an hour then pushed to spend a small fortune on skin care for women 20-30 years older than I am. The facial itself wasn't that great. I could have gotten similar results at home with a warm shower, a gentle peel and moisturizer. I don't know if this is just how this provider works or the Spa pushes their providers to do these things. But I will never return for any service other than a massage. read more

Today I went in for a Lash lift and facial and all I can say is WOW !!! This is why I keep coming back !! This review is overdue. Pretty decent massage. It did the trick. Great customer service given that this was scheduled last minute. I like that the owner is tech savvy and is able to use Yelp for near realtime communication. Only wish is that I didnt hit my head on the ceiling going up the stairs and that the therapist/massuse felt more comfortable using deep tissue on me. My husband got me a gift certificate here about 2 years again (mind you, I never been here before). My first visit was wonderful!!! And I have been going here ever since. I have had my eyebrows waxed by Natasha so many times and I have never had a bad experience. She does facials too and they are AMAZING!! If you have dry skin or oily skin, they always give a recommendation on what to use and whatnot to use. They give you a couple of samples to try to see what works for you Also had the hot stone massage (much recommended) and felt like I was in oasis. 5 stars is not enough for this place. I've been going to Inner Beauty since it was established--at least 15 or 20 years ago. I get monthly waxing (lip, brow, and a French bikini) and a facial quarterly. I always feel pampered and well taken care of. The place is beautiful and doesn't have that sort of industrial feel that many spas have. The products they use are first rate and I have been told that I have beautiful skin and I'm well into my 50's. Massage quality is based on your personal experience and I believe it's most important that your therapist listen to you and apply the correct pressure/style that you asked for. At inner beauty concepts they listen and follow through! Hands down best massages I've ever received. My preference is simple- a very light touch with an extra relaxing feel. I've had two therapist who were able to give me exactly what I requested. My friend and I recently visited and she asked for a deeper massage and her therapist delivered exactly what she requested. I get about 8 massages a year and it varies from hotel spas to other local massage studios. Moving forward this will be my go to local massage studio. Great hours! I went to this place twice one for a spray tan and once for a brazilin and both were horrible experiences. The spray tan I looked ridiculous, I was way darker than I should have been. I am very pale skinned and asked for a light tan I looked like I was from the Jersey shore. I went back for a second time for the brazilin which I should not have but I did and I have never experience anything like this, I get brazilian's all the time but had just moved so I figured I would try this place (bad decision). First off they kept re-dipping the sick into the wax bucket which I believe is just the grossest thing in the world and secondly the women made me feel like she had never done this before. It was very uncomfortable and she really seemed like she had no clue how to do it. I finally just asked her to stop and I left. Relatively new to the area, I've tried several different places for massage including Massage Envy and Elements and found Inner Beauty Concepts to be the best. As soon as you walk in you feel comfortable and relaxed. Definitely not the sterile, high volume feel of the businesses mentioned above. Today was my second time coming for a microdermabrasion appointment. The first time I went, I believe it was Cheryl who took care of me. It was a relaxing experience, Cheryl took her time and my skin looked great after. Unfortunately today was quite different. I forget the name of who I had today but it wasn't Cheryl. She didn't give me the option of undressing and getting comfortable in the bed, which Cheryl did during my first appointment. I was pretty cold in the room and not nearly as comfortable. Although my skin did look good after, I realized my appointment lasted for barely 45 minutes when it is supposed to be a full hour. She didn't use the steam machine either, which I feel is crucial during a facial (and Cheryl also did this during my first time). Everyone here is very kind but a mediocre experience definitely makes me reluctant to go back. read more

I wouldn't recommend their waxing services. I went in about 3 weeks ago for a Brazilian wax. The lady who waxed me was very nice initially, but grew frustrated when she made a mistake that made for a lengthy session. I was fine with the mistake (we are humans) but a couple things really upset me. The service, without the tip was $85.00. More than what was listed on the web, and I'm am not hairy AT ALL so basically she charged ME more for her mistake. Added a tip, now it's $100. Second, she BURNED my private parts (sorry I had to disclose!) Then if that wasn't enough, she walked out and never even spoke to me again, so while I pay for the terrible service AND give her a decent tip, she just disregards me completely. Had been in this place many years ago and disliked it, but after seeing the good reviews I decided to give them another try but regretted it. Maybe the other services are fine but waxing, will be more painful than it needs to be, more expensive, and more embarrassing because the woman won't even treat you professionally after the fact.
