Walter is one of those rare gems .. an honest, very capable, reliable contractors, who is very committed to delighting his customers. Recently, we ran into issues with our fountain in front of our home. Using Youtube videos, my wife and I successfully replaced a pump at very low cost. Unfortunately, while we were careful to properly waterproof our splices, the fountain began tripping a GFI circuit. We know that when you are dealing with water and electricity, hiring a competent electrician is extremely prudent, both to assure a good repair, and to stay safe. I described the issue to Walter over the phone, and he immediately proposed a course of action, so that we would not be over-spending if a more basic repair would prove adequate. He quoted reasonable prices for his work, so we decided to schedule an appointment. He communicated properly, arrived with a mask for pandemic protection, and went right to work. He had the proper equipment and was able to confirm that it was indeed the GFI (and not the fountain unit) that needed replacement. We felt very comfortable with him, and discussed some future projects that we will want to do, after we have completed interior decorating. Walter is as great as it gets! We found him here on Yelp and we hired him to install a few can lights in our 60-year-old house (yikes, right?!) and he did such a great job maneuvering between extremely small crawl spaces, our attic, in between drywall, etc. You wouldn't believe it. The best part, he was sensitive to our budget and worked with us every step of the way. He gave really good advice and was knowledgeable about what we needed to do to upgrade our panel (which was necessary because of the age of the house) and even recommended switching out our old bathroom electrical wiring to be able to handle an 1800 watt blow dryer, which our bathroom would not have been able to handle. He helped turn our old home into a smart home by recommending products that worked great for us, including smart dimmers and switches. He installed our dining room light, lights in our bedrooms and bathrooms, and pretty much everything in our house that had to do with electrical work. Our A/C stopped working one day after my husband installed our Google Nest thermostat and Walter came by and helped us get it up and running. Late one evening we had heard some intermittent but unexplained booms outside our house but couldn't find the source. When my daughter arrived late that night she actually witnessed the electrical panel making the noise and throwing sparks! By this time it was nearly midnight. She woke us up and being very afraid to go back to sleep, I got on yelp and google and decided to call Innovative Electrical Services based on the other reviewers recommendations. While talking to the answering service, my husband carefully shut down our breaker and started a portable generator to run our freezer and fridge. We called the number and scheduled an urgent but not emergency appointment for 8-10am. Walter must have called us as soon as he read his messages early in the morning and made sure we were safe. He showed up as scheduled and resolved our problem in an hour and a half including his trip to the store for parts. Walter was very thorough, professional and reassuring during a very scary time! I interviewed about eight different electrical contractors but the second person I talk to you on the phone was named Chance Wilkins. Innovative Electrical Services (IES) out of Auburn Ca. He was the most polite young man, So knowledgeable he answered all my questions without making me feel stupid. I set up an appointment with Chance meanwhile I met with six other electrical contractors. Some by phone, A few others in person. Each and everyone Give me a quote on the job that I wouldn't ever be able to afford, another had me so frightened, I was convinced that my trailer was gonna burn down that night and the price that he quoted me was outrageous.Then met with Chance he took the time to explain and show me what needed to be done, and gave me a quote that I could afford, and come out the following day to do the work. Walter is AWESOME. Very professional, responsive, and timely. And friendly! My homeowners policy dropped me because of the brand of electrical panel, and I needed to get it changed out super quickly so that there was no lapse in coverage. Changing out the panel required coordinating with PG&E, which Walter totally took care of. I didn't have to do anything! He showed up when he said he would, stayed on top of PG&E to make sure we didn't have to go too long without power, and even followed up with his office to make sure they sent me the invoice ASAP so that I could forward it to the insurance company. Walter from innovative electrical services is a very honest electrician. We had a partial power outage in the house and he was able to fix it in only one hour. I guarantee their are a lot of electricians out there that would have taken advantage of us by taking a very long time to fix the problem. I wouldn't of known the difference if they taken three hours because I'm not knowledgeable about how to fix electrical problems but he worked as fast as possible to keep the price down. Walter and IES are the best! I had one of the best experiences with him that I have ever had with a contractor. I had Walter come out to install a bathroom fan that had been damaged during a roofing project and trace an electrical short that was tripping a breaker. He did a great job on the install and was able to trace down the short through an unusual electrical set up in my older home. It was traced to and attic fan that was damaged by the roofer. Walter took a ton of pictures for me to show the roofer and even then, the roofer didn't want to take responsibility. Walter showed up at my place to meet with me and the roofer, lined out exactly what he did and the roofer agreed to pay. Walter didn't have to go that extra mile and he didn't ask to be compensated for his extra time meeting the roofer. He is a class guy that does great work and cares about his customers. read more

Walter has been a blessing in ensuring that my tenants' electrical problems in my very old rental do not hold us up for long!
