Quote was never sent, met with someone for nearly an hour. Generac should not recommend them if they cannot follow through. I even called them on 8/8/25 asking for status of quote. Receptionist was nice and apologetic about it and said someone would get in contact with me, I keep checking my spam email box and nothing. Stay away they must not need business. I'll support the vendor in Placerville for my Auburn install instead. Received a call about a week ago, I had to remind Ken that we had already met, he wanted to come out again. No thanks! read more

I purchased a generator from this company in 2015. I bought a property that had a kholer generator. So I called and found the nearest dealer (Norris Electric) they suggested I buy a kholer 12RES they said it was a great generator for off grid systems and very reliable. Almost immediately we had issues with it. When we called in for a repair. They came out once. Then when we had issues again. They said it was too far and they wouldn't come out anymore. I had a renter named Mary living there and she lived alone and had no help. They left her in the dark. Wouldn't help and were mean to her. I called kholer and Norris didn't register our product. So we couldn't get warranty help. The owner Ron and his Mother were super rude to myself and Mary. Our generator quick working at 1600 hrs. We couldn't get anyone else to come out and look at it. The nearest dealer was 150 miles away. Plus no warranty. So finally in 2021 I call and use a fake name and give them our address. Tell them we have a generator not working. They come out and look at it. They tell us it's bad (this is at 1600hrs) I used the name ( John Reynolds to see if they would come out. Since they wouldn't help Mary. They suggest we buy a new one. So we purchase another one. Hoping the first one was a fluke and the next one will work. We weren't off grid anymore. So wouldn't be used was much. It started having trouble at 200hrs. I called for a technician to come and service it and start it so it was running for winter. It had a miss and wasn't staying running. They came out in September 2025 and did the service. They said it was fine. The very first storm power was knocked out. We started it and it died in 20-30 seconds. We tried starting again and it have several codes. We called back and they said they would put me on The schedule. But they emailed me a bill for $300 and I needed to pay for service. I told them I had seen it a couple days earlier and paid it through quick books. They said it could take two weeks to process electronic payments and that they couldn't put me on the schedule. I told them I would come down in person and pay then. But put me on the schedule. So I had my son take a check down. Then waited a few hours. Nobody called back. I called in to see if I could get on schedule. They said there wasn't anyone there to help and next Wednesday the person that scheduled will be back and they can help. I called kholer and they said my unit isn't registered. I called in and asked why this SECOND UNIT PURCHASED HAD ALSO NOT BEEN REGISTERED. So I drove down there to talk with them. The guy I was talking with Andy they said left and nobody was there. THEY TOLD ME TO LEAVE. I said first explain why two generators purchase haven't been registered? They said no and leave or they were calling the cops. I said go ahead and I will tell them what you are doing. This is the second time. So they call the cops. The suburb PD comes. They say not to be mean to staff and they will come out Wednesday and look at the generator. I say ok and leave. Wednesday comes around and nobody shows up. I call at 12p to see what time they are coming. No answer. I call again. No answer. The Auburn Pd calls and said they aren't coming and don't do watch them or the will file harassment complaint. So I spent $12,000 for two generators. One went bad at 160"hrs because of refusal of service. I couldn't get a warranty replacement because they didn't register it. Then I was forced to purchase a new one and it has 200hrs and it's already broke. They won't come out and service it and THEY DIDNT REGISTER IT EITHER AND TRIED TO SAY WE DIDNT BUT IT FROM THEM. SMH. THIS COMPANY IS BEYOND UNPROFESSIONAL! read more

We moved into our house in September 2020 and were told by the previous owner's realtor that the whole house generator was new and in working condition. It wasn't. A couple weeks after we moved in, PG&E turned off the power and the generator did nothing. Called around and no one would come out. Norris electric was on Generac's website, so I called them. Sean was out in a couple days and was awesome. Told me our unit was 16 years old and needed some parts. He was able to get it going well enough for it to work if we needed it to while the parts were on order. A few weeks passed and Sean was out to install the parts. Again, he was awesome and knowledgeable. As he installed the parts and was tuning the engine, he discovered internal issues that prevented it from being tuned properly. Sean gave us a quote for repair and a quote to replace based on our units age and repair cost. My wife and I decided to replace our unit with a slightly larger unit. We order the unit in November and here's where our issue began, though it wasn't on Norris, but on Generac. We were told Generac was on back order and they didn't know when it would be in. We were told our generator was received in February, but Norris was backed up on jobs, so they would contact us when they could schedule us. Fast forward to late April and our generator is in. Pros *Their service crews and install crews are friendly and knowledgeable. *Office staff is friendly *Price was reasonable Cons *If we wanted updates for the generator coming in, scheduling the concrete slab being poured or scheduling the install, we had to call them. That is my only complaint. I will use them again in the future. But please improve on communicating with the customer, even if it is a simple "we're still waiting for the generator to come in". read more

With the recent power outage we were relying on our Generac backup generator to keep our fridge and electronics running while keeping important medications from spoiling. Our generator went down overnight and I was referred to them by Generac as an authorized service company. I left a message at 6:50am. I was in contact with them by 7am. As of a few months ago, I never really needed an electrician. Most of the time I had a friend who was capable of doing what minimal work I needed. In a pinch with a new project, I was in immediate need of professional service. I called a handful of companies and the only one who could be there in a reasonable amount of time was Norris. They actually ended up coming that day, which was when I really needed them. Andy showed up very quickly, assessed what I needed, and quickly fixed the problem, and my bill was next to nothing. The quality of the service preformed was fantastic, but the level of professionalism and enjoyable conversation added a layer of service you deem top notch. I have since called them 3 times to add additional items, all done by Andy, and all done with the same level of service. Norris electric is one of the best companies I have worked with in this area. We had an issue develop with our new generator. I called Tom in the middle of the night, left a message and received a call by 7:30 AM. He had a technician at the house in a couple of hours to fix the problem and got us up and running again. I wish I could give 0 stars. My sister is older and disabled. I booked an appointment for someone to give us an estimate on a generator. We waited several weeks for the appointment which was today. Guess what. NO SHOW. when I called them the guy tells me they have been inundated because of the power outages. Yeah. But I had a scheduled appointment. It wasn't a drop in or stand by. It was scheduled. No call canceling it. Really??? They told me she'd have to wait 4 more weeks for the estimate. If I can find anyone to do it, believe me, I'll cancel these losers. We called Norris Electric after learning they are an authorized dealer and installer of Generac Generators. It was a very busy time for all generator installers when we called last October so we knew we had to be patient and wait our turn. Norris Electric crew just installed our 16kw Guardian Home Back Up Generator with Transfer Switch in March. They did an excellent job installing it! The office staff has been very friendly and responsive. Can't believe we got in on the 10-year free warranty Generac deal too! Haven't had any power outages yet, but we are ready now. So glad we bought this unit and had an authorized, trained Generac crew install it. read more

I cannot recommend Norris Electric. Norris provided a new generator installation contract with "errors made" by Gary their salesman. Norris errors resulted in their refusal to install all of the equipment identified within their contract. Matt the CFO is unfriendly and threatening in the way he demands full payment without Norris installing all equipment identified in their contract due to Norris "errors made". Norris did not double check the torque of the 200A main feeder connection nuts (which were only 'finger tight') which resulted in large sparks, power shut off and the new generator running for 14+ hours (while the grid power was on) while we were out of town. Norris did come out and fix this dangerous situation. The lack of client management skills of Norris and especially Matt Shirvanioun after their repeated mistakes have left me feeling uncertain of their installation and ability to back up their warranty in the future. I will not be using Norris on my other properties. read more

Called to get an estimate for a whole house generator as these people are listed on the Generac site as approved contractors. One of their employees came out to survey for an estimate. Heard nothing from them for 9 weeks, then received an estimate. The generator recommended on the estimate was a larger model than the first employee recommended and more expensive. By then, we actually already had one of their competitors install the appropriate model for us, after assuming that the Norris people weren't interested in our business. By the way, the Norris estimate was almost twice what we wound up paying the competitor. Glad their customer service is so poor. read more

These guys are very thorough and truly care about there customer. It is very hard these days to provide the services people are requiring due to oppressive regulations and a lack of parts availability and when we had a problem with our generator they went the extra mile to help us understand the situation and expressed giving concern for our situation. They fixed our issue and we just know that they are very professional and care about their customer. read more

Not sure how these people stay in business after reading their reviews and our personal experience. We first called them in October after our whole house generator failed. A generator they installed and assured us they would service because they installed it. After several in office visits to get a committed appointment and at least ten calls to them, we still have not seen them. All we ever heard was "it should be in the next week or two". It's now January and we still haven't received service or the courtesy of a return call. NEVER experienced customer service such as this. What a bunch of losers, don't waste your time, I doubt they will be in business for much longer. read more

Recently had one of the worst customer services experiences of my life with this company. After waiting two weeks for an appointment that I booked during a recent power outage with my Briggs and Stratten home generator not running (calling twice during the two weeks to see if they had any appts available sooner, as I was w/o power) they called the morning of the appt to say they were only servicing "emergency calls". When I inquired about defining an emergency and they informed me they were only servicing "no power" clients. They informed me they had my appt. booked as a routine preventative maintenance call only and they could not accomodate me in the schedule. They said they would call me back after looking at the schedule. After 5 more days with no follow up calls from them regarding my service needs I called to speak with the owner and was informed he would not speak with me even though they told me he was sitting right next to the guy I was speaking with. Done! There are so many competent service providers who value your business. BTW they list themselves as a Briggs and Stratten Service provider on their website, but I was informed the only certified tech is the owner and not only will he not speak with unhappy customers, I was informed that he does not actually work on generators, so they really do not service Briggs and Stratten. After my 3 weeks of no power and zero customer service from this business I would caution you to look elsewhere for your electrical service needs! read more
