This school is awesome! My 2 year old niece recently started going there and my sister couldn't be happier! They helped with her potty training and two weeks later we have not had any accidents. The teachers are super nice and the school is adorable. Everything in the school is tiny, the toilet, the tables, little sofas, little hand washing stations! OMG, it was too cute! I saw a cute playground outside and inside they had all of the children's art in display. I went this passed week for my niece's "art show," which was followed by a silent auction. My sister and her husband ended up buying a lot of the art. I just love this school, they are doing a great job at motivating the next generation. I'm a fan. read more

Our daughter has been here for 2 years and really loves it. I am supprised by the bad reviews honestly. Small structure, the teachers knows all the children, the curriculum is very good. No screen / TV / tablet which is a must. We will keep our daughter there until elementary school for sure. My twin boys have attended Innovative since they were 18 months, and we could not be happier with the progress they have made in the past year and a half. When our friends ask us what we do to have such well-behaved children, we always tell them it's their Montessori school. I read through the negative feedback, and I can tell you that my experience has been nothing of the sort. From the initial tour to enrollment and finally admission, the interactions have been positive and staff responsive. Wonderful authentic Montessori School! Don't trust the negative reviews. The teachers and head of the school are so dedicated.

For me, I think we speak out so much more for bad experience, but we too often take wonderfully good experience for granted, and don't review them enough. This is my case with Innovative. My child started daycare at 7 months old, at a $320/ week facility, but she kept getting ear infection while staying there. Long story short, after taking care of her for one year ourselves, we started the daycare shopping experience again. We looked at about 5 daycares around the area (Montessori, Christian and regular chains), and Innovative is the one my husband heard from a neighbor, whose two (2) children go there. We actually already paid the deposit for another regular chain facility, but we still wanted to check it out. Upon the school visit, I was sold by the abundant classroom pets, the unique art pieces children made at the school, and the non-character policy the school carries (love it no uniform, and yet no Disney character dress-up). I've heard about the Montessori concepts, but I was discouraged by a particular teacher's cold demeanor when I visited another Montessori school in our area, so I wasn't looking for Montessori in particular. But after the classroom visit, I KNEW this is the place! Looking back, I'm so grateful that Innovative goes the extra miles and brings up those parent education evenings, to educate parents of the Montessori concept, and classroom props, which gave me idea and better understanding of how they approach Maths (visualization, self-correction), practical life skills, and reading and writing, and to know what I could do at home. My child has been going there over two (2) years now, and have transitioned from the Toddler Class to the Early Childhood Classroom. We thought we potted trained our child in three (3) days, but it turned out that the school really prepared our child for it, and the majority of the work was already done there before we even started, and the same applies to her writing, reading and Maths now. When my child started daycare at 7-months old, she cried for almost four (4) weeks at drop-off. When my daughter started at Innovative, at 18 months old, she cried for only a couple of days, and then she walks off straight to her teacher and friends, without even looking at me, until now That's how you know those little ones truly like the place. I'm forever grateful to my neighbor for recommending Innovative to us. It's not like those big chains, where everything is so commercial, but the staff and teachers here genuinely care about what they do, as you can see from the classroom visit. I also love the small community feel and support. Ms. Kathryn the headmistress is always there with resources and answers on child rearing, with her big BIG heart! I STRONGLY recommend Innovative to parents who look for authentic education, with all the benefit of Montessori concept actualized, to bring up your child to be a self-motivated, independent and loving individual. read more

The school has a great orientation program. My little boy has attended since 2012. The staff gave me lots of information to apply at home and at every conference they have a portfolio where they store my son's art, observations and they show me how he is advancing in the different learning areas. The price is cheap and well-worth it if you take into consideration the other schools nearby do not have this many degreed teachers. The food served is organic and they teach children about nutrition. My son loves their carrots and hummus snack. They have a butterfly garden and I would often see caterpillars in each classroom to learn about their life cycle. They do have a lot of pets, my son likes to talk to and feed their guinea pigs. I couldn't dream of putting my son anywhere else. The staff love him and he often says he wishes he could go see them outside of school. :) read more

While searching for a school for my son I found this one. I scheduled a visit and was really excited about it. When I arrived I was greeted warmly, given some paperwork and given a nice tour. I then inquired about availability for my two year old and was told that they would be meeting with a parent about moving their child from that class and if the parent agreed with the move their would be one space available. I was then instructed to call and check on the following Tuesday. On Tuesday afternoon I called and told the person who I was and why I was calling. I was told that there was a waiting list for that class and I should have completed my application and turned it in. I then informed the person I was speaking with that there was no application in my paperwork and I was not made aware of this "waiting list" when I visited on the past Friday. She then told me "apparently you did not express interest in the school, because if you had you would have been given the application." I then asked her if she remembered me because she was the one who gave me my tour and told me about the meeting. I went on to remind her about our conversations where I told her when I wanted my child to start and everything. She pretended that she didn't hear me and went on to restate what she had just said. I was very hurt and decided at that moment if they treated me that way how would they treat my child. I am very disappointed at their behavior and honestly felt that I nor my child was wanted at this school. read more

I was very excited to visit the innovative school. In fact I was sure I was going to sign him up as long as I liked the learning environment. The director gave me a tour and a packet to fill out in order to enroll my son. When I came back to turn it in, she didn't take the packet, in fact she said- how about if we call you tomorrow? I never received a call back... So I went ahead with my second choice. I was disappointed that they disregarded me and am wondering if they pick and choose who they would like to enroll. read more

I have 2 kids at this school. One is 4 and one is almost 3. They have both been attending Innovative Montessori since they were 18 months old. What we love about the school is their dedication to the Montessori educational philosophy. The Director has a true lifelong passion for the Montessori methods and you see that funnel down to each lead teacher. I see the school's values in my children, they are taught to be "good citizens", they've learned from school to clean up after they eat, to be kind, to be inclusive of everyone. They encourage and foster an environment where my children love to learn. I was shocked when my 3 year old looked up at the sky and said "that's a crescent moon". She learns and retains a lot from her daily lessons. I also like that they do not allow sugary foods and have an organic cafe you can order from for school lunch. Some of the other reviews on here gave low reviews due to scheduling and communication of school policy/tuition etc. I can see why people may see this, the school does not have a full-time receptionist. So, most of the time the director answers the phone or the part-time receptionist does. Usually the Director is able to handle everything, but if a teacher is out sick or something needs to be taken care of - the Director is in the classroom with our kids. Honestly, I'd rather have her in the classroom with my child so they can benefit from her extensive Montessori knowledge. She teaches and mentors newer Montessori teachers nationwide, so it's cool when we get her level of experience with our toddlers. Personally, I'd prioritize outstanding education, passion for our kids, teachers that truly care about our kids, and lower tuition over one of the schools that puts effort into flawless administration and keeping parents happy. Maybe there's a school that has both? I haven't found it yet! Really happy here and would recommend to other moms. read more

I had my child attend this school for 2 years. We could clearly see the transition in the approach the management had during this period. Though they stated the focus is on the child, we could see the shift of orientation from the service towards money. Inspite of boasting to give a clear program (eg, Summer camp), we did not realize any benefit as they are all on paper and nothing effected as stated. Also during this period we saw that they keep the nannies to handle the kids than having qualified teachers which they claim to have. And also there is no transparency and the information shared, varied for every family. There are surprises (more of a shock) that is told, only when the wee hours arrive as they do not maintain clear communication with the concerned families. Also the change in policies, not communicated well in time are directed only to the benefit of the school. To mention - They charge for every minute you delay in picking the child from school in the evening. All of this put us and our child in a stiff situation and decide to leave the school for good. Many of our friends who had their child here also had the same feeling and had to leave the school with sad feelings. The management here is not mature enough to handle such services to the society. Anyone who has an initiating thought, to put their child here, please please please talk thru your friends and get the feedback from those who have gone thru this experience. I can guarantee none of them will recommend this school. Also note don't ever give a security deposit here - You cannot leave the school even if you want to or you have to consider this as a charity. read more

We had a really good experience with this school.My son loved going here and he was very fond of his teacher. I see that the director and the teachers are very passionate about what they were doing which i have not seen in other schools. This was the first time my son had been in a school and i was pretty concerned about how he would adjust, I kept calling them so many times in the first 2 1/2 weeks to see how he was doing and they were so patient in answering all my concerns. Pros: They give organic fruits and veggies to kids and i love that about this school. They potty train and use cloth diapers. At every conference ,they had a portfolio and they explained how he was advancing in different learning areas. They also showed videos of him in the classroom. They have plants, birds and small pets like hampster in their class. They are a true montessori school. Con: The only con i have is i wish they put a shade over the playground as it gets really hot here in houston. I have been to 5 other schools before deciding on this school for my son and none of the others came even close to the standards of this school.I recommend this school to all my friends now read more

Update: my daughter is now almost 5 and is striving in school. She has been in a structured organized Montessori school since I left this daycare. My oh my is it a world of difference! When I pick her up the classroom is controlled, they are engaged in work and she has learned and grown so much! She loves school. Such a difference from this school to where she is currently at. I stand by everything I said in my previous review. Where you choose to put your children while you work is such an important decision. I am still appalled at the actions and accusations they put on my daughter. No child should be threatened to be kicked out of school at the age of 3 because the teacher doesn't want to deal with them and claims they are too much to handle due to their class size of 24 students to 1 teacher. On top of that, no parent should ever be bombarded and told that their child is special needs by teachers who are not qualified to make determinations like that. May I add, after the incidents below occurred I pulled my daughter out of the school and director agreed to a refund for the remainder of the month. Once I left the building of course they would not return any of my tuition for the remainder of the month. So I ended up loosing almost 900 dollars. I would not recommend this school at all, there are much better options out there for less money. Just do a little more digging. read more
