He…read morenoticed my hair was constantly tangling and I addressed to him that I'm very minimalist with my hair since my hair is naturally very thin and brittle so it constantly tangles. He started hot selling me this promotional package which contain a "水疗" treatment. Ben doesn't speak English and I speak English, Cantonese and communicable Mandarin. Even though my native tongue is Cantonese, I still do not know certain terms in Chinese but other than that I do communicate and understand it. I had to call my husband to find out what the English term was. He stated it's a 5-time 15 minutes hydrotherapy treatment which includes haircut and wash for $280 with no expiration date and you share it with other people. This is similar the facial salons packages sold in the Chinese community. His selling point was you're already paying $3x (based on my hair length at that time) for your haircut so it's a bit more then what you're usually paying and it's only 15 minutes so it won't take too much of my time. He told me next time I can come back to find him next time. I pay the full amount for the package and he assign me a number and had me write my information in a notebook shared with other clients' info in the same page. I put my initials on the first visit. When I asked for a receipt, he told me to just use the number and he help me take the photo of my information section sent it from their company WeChat to me. A bit sketchy but what could go wrong right? I came for the second time with my sister to use my package during the weekend. I advised them we came for a haircut and advise them I have a package already and will be using it for the both of us. During my hair wash I was convinced to get a facial in their store which I told the hair washer I have a facial package already elsewhere and we will be getting a facial after. She continues to aggressively convince me to get a facial at their store stating that we will not make it to our appointment after the treatment and haircut which I denied again. We chose whichever stylist available since Ben was busy. I got a haircut from one of the male hairstylist. He kept hot selling me scalp treatment package. I told him I don't have time today and I will look into it next time. He continues to promote this scalp treatment package and even took photo of the dandruff on my head. I told him I'm pregnant now and I will look into it next time. He still tried to convinces me to purchase the package first and use it in the future which makes no sense. My sister left first to go to the facial salon. Once the haircut was done, I told the stylist I already gave the number to the hair washer and initial my name for me and my sister. I gave him his tips and the hair washer. Then the hairstylist said you paid me tips but you didn't pay me for the haircut. He told me my package only comes with the treatment and only the first time you get the free haircut and wash. I told him that's not what Ben told me if not I would not purchase this package and would've just gotten just a haircut. He kept saying I heard wrong how is it possible the haircut was already $4x dollars. Whether it is in Cantonese or Mandarin the translation is similar, you would be able to hear if it's the "first time" or "every time". If I heard the first time, I would not buy their package since I only care for an occasional haircut. And he's like wait for Ben to talk to you and in the background the other staffs tried to gaslight me by saying it's not possible, you heard wrong. Ben didn't even have the guts to directly talk to me. He was working with a client but he could've just step away for a few minutes to address the situation but instead got the same guy to pass on the message so you can tell these people are shady. They wanted to cancel out the remaining 2 times of my package. I told them they can't do that because I paid for what I paid for and even from the start I didn't care about no 15 minutes hydrotherapy treatment and if Ben didn't straight up lie to me at the time of purchase I would not of brought this package. They agree to give me my remaining 2 haircuts and the 15 minutes hydrotherapy treatment will not be included. I didn't want to continue to argue because I was too trusting from the start. Trusted Ben's words and didn't get a physical receipt in writing so it became a he said/ she said. This is a definitely a lesson learned. They probably thought I was easy to pick on. All alone, didn't want to purchase any of their other services and thought I wouldn't say anything back and go along with their flow. Never in my life did I have to threaten to call the police. So, if you do decide to get a package from them, make sure you get an itemized receipt. Don't trust their words. A decent haircut isn't enough to make up for dishonest business practices. Protect yourself from unnecessary dispute.
