But I did try Lisa Day's Candlelight Forrest Yoga Class at Innerstellar Pilates & Yoga Studio in Berkeley and LOVED IT! Lisa helped me find ways to makes the poses work for me and the level I am currently at. Everyone there modified - it was encouraging to see props, blocks and different variations. Plus, I never felt judged, stressed or like I was way over my head. I don't know how to describe it, the class was fun, easy to keep up with and totally kicked my butt, I was sweating and sore the next day, yet it never felt like work. I loved it so much I tried it again the following week. Her class grew from 13 people to 18 - I thought (ooo no) the secret is out, they know how awesome this instructor is.

Love the aesthetic they've created behind such a busy road. I appreciated the open bay door AND outdoor pallets for people who want to practice under the sun and shade. The owner and the instructor were both really welcoming and put all of us 1st-time visitors at ease. The place is clean, and Danice (yogi) emphasized that all their materials are sanitized. They've got the floor taped off for spacing, and of course it smells calming and peaceful throughout. It's not a big studio, so I'm curious if spots fill up in most classes. I will be back! They have a website to reserve a spot and pay in advance. They may be on the more pricey side, but I honestly have no comparison.

I love how it's decorated in this space and how much natural light comes through the windows during class. Every thing was pink from the mats to the balls to all the equipment, which was so cute and girly pop! I really enjoyed the barre class. The one thing I will say though is that the ball felt a little too big and kept falling out of mine and a few other people's legs when we were using it for class. Overall, it was such a cute studio and I would love to come back next time and I'm in town!

Entitled studio donates $100 yoga mat left at studio without notifying its owner…read more The day I left my mat, I messaged them within the hour to say I had left it there. They assured me they would keep it safe. I contacted them multiple times on different dates about the mat. I had come 4 separate times, once a month, to claim the mat in person and they were closed every time. I messaged them to let them know I was trying to grab it. The studio had the mat. I live over an hour away and could not make it down in time for class times but I had contacted the studio multiple times saying I needed to get it. I came today and the owners gave me a run around saying they had no idea what I was talking about, then when I described the mat they said "oh u left it so long ago we donated it," I left it there 4mos ago. At my local studio they keep mats for an entire year before POSTING it that they're getting rid of the mats and to come claim them. It was the gaslighting from both owners for me, and clearly improper communication from "whoever is running the social media." I get I left my mat, but if I'm communicating with u to retrieve my property, you need to at least let the client, its owner who's trying to claim it, know before "donating it". "Donating it" is peak entitlement. It's not your mat, and you never messaged me and never posted it. Just because it's in your studio doesn't mean it's now your mat.
