I called Action Pest Control first thing this morning to request someone to come investigate a critter noise I was hearing in my kitchen wall. I was certain it was not rodents and considered it may be termites or some other insect concern. No one answered so I left a brief voicemail. Shortly thereafter, Justin returned my call. I explained my concern and sent him a video to hear the sounds within the wall. He explained to me that the specific problem he suspected really wasn't much of a concern at all. He informed me that he could come investigate if I wanted but it may be a few weeks as his company is likely quite busy. I declined to have him stop by and began complimenting him on his exceptional business ethics. In this day and age, most consumers are cautious about service type work and feel that it's difficult to trust recommendations from businesses (usually because those recommendations include some kind of charge for a service you probably don't need). The fact that he didn't try to sell me anything and was honest was refreshing to say the least. Rodenticide is poison (not just to rats but to the homeowner, the earth, and any pets or other critters in the vicinity). Not only that, but I didn't want a rat dying in some unknown and inaccessible location in my home. That would create quite a smell and my home would have poison in it forever. Ricky from Bugs Northwest came out and assessed the situation. He set snap traps in my crawl space and attic. A week later, he came back and pulled out three dead rats (2 adults, one juvenile). Then Ricky sealed up the likely entryways into the structure. He reset the traps, and checked them again a week later. The traps were empty on the second round of checks. So far, so good. It appears my problem is taken care of. Ricky is very knowledgeable about trapping animals. Make a list of questions for him, and he will answer them all. I would use Bugs Northwest again! Ricky was great. They are not the cheapest company in town, so I gave them only 4 stars. My cost was $600. Nevertheless, Yay! I'm a fan. He got the job done.

I had some other issues that were important to know before I purchased that he guaranteed were in working order, but not so. The home needed a new HVAC and water heater and also the gas heater stove did not operate and he said that it did even though the owner said he couldn't not lite the pilot and the technicians that I hired reported that a wire was disconnected that would not allow the stove to operate. But he has the nerve say I'm a lunatic. Edit #2: We hired Action Pest Control to come solve out rat problem. I again was very clear - we needed to have the entry points sealed, the rats removed, and evidence of rats cleaned up. No problem! He quoted me a price of $350 to do all this (Derrick quoted $550, but never completed even a fraction of the work.) After Action finished he said the job was super fast and easy, and $350 was not justified. He only charged us $225! That is a good businessman, someone with integrity who I would highly recommend! Derrick has the nerve to quote me over $1000 to do the same work. Dude's out of his mind.
