Honestly the worst customer service experience I've ever had. I'm actually shocked by how rude the employees here were. I've worked in the service industry, I understand things can be stressful but that's is no excuse for how wet were treated. My friends and I tried to go at ~10pm. The open sign was lit up but the door was locked. Unsure if the door was just jammed someone knocked on it. An employee (who was on their cell phone) answered the door and was immediately rude saying that the door was locked so why were we trying to get in. When someone pointed out that the sign said open they acted like we were stupid and said they were baking cookies and that we couldn't come in- but in the most condescending and rude tone I've ever experienced. It's usually run by a single employee at night, but totally sufficient for the demand in the area. One of the best chocolate immersions is two double chocolate chip cookies with chocolate ice cream for a heavenly experience. Love this place! Has definitely changed over the last few months (I think there is a new manager) for the better...cleaner and generally better service than it used to be. Cookies are worth their weight in gold. Underrated ice cream place too...the flavors are crazy! Love that they deliver, wish there were more of them and that they had real seating! I'd be in here constantly. Only negative is some of the staff...I get that it's a tiny spot in the city so you work with what you got, but attitudes could use adjusting especially at night after I get off work and come in (I run a bar nearby). Fresh baked cookies, I'm in! We wanted a sweet treat after dinner so we got the deluxe ice cream sandwich! This ooey gooey madness was pretty much perfect. The cookies just came from the oven 1 peanut butter and the other smores. The vanilla ice cream was the perfect touch. This was the sweet to beat all sweets and fairly big. Horrible experience on Saturday 9/17/16 at 4pm. I was there with my 8 y/o daughter and had money in hand and a cookie selected. The clerk behind the counter was too engrossed in trying to reconcile her cashier errors to even look up. After the 4th time banging on the calculator, entering the same (wrong) numbers and getting the same (wrong) result, I asked if she was going to serve us. She said she had to "do the shift change". There's milk behind the counter waiting to help you consume these bites of heaven with devilish snares. I find the simpler cookies to be more enjoyable, peanut butter or chocolate chip. Went in on Sunday morning, just after it opened. There were already 3 people inside. The woman behind the counter told us it would be 4 minutes. When the cookies were ready it turned out the people already waiting were friends, not customers, the girl behind the counter was nothing but unpleasant and rude about filling our order. Happened upon this little gem after leaving the Illusions show a few weeks ago and what better way to end a great night with friends then a warm cookie. My friend and I both got a Snickerdoodle and a White Chocolate Macadamia cookie which were served warm, right out of the little warmer oven. Both cookies were good but the White Chocolate Macadamia was my favorite. Two warm and gooey chocolate chip cookies with moose tracks ice cream in between. It was good. Not great. It's good because it's cookies and ice cream. I mean, there's something wrong with you if you don't like cookies and ice cream. However, the cookie and the ice cream was just average. Don't get me wrong. It wasn't bad. Just not memorable. Whoever thought of this idea is a mastermind! Who wouldn't want a nice warm freshly baked cookie at 2 in the morning?? I've had the chocolate chip cookie and brownie and both are amazing! The cookies are warm and really moist. They have a big variety of chocolate isn't your thing. They aren't cheap I will say. Delivery also has a fee and a minimum to spend. They aren't the fastest either (maybe they bake the cookies?) it takes 40-60 minutes for delivery (and I live within walking distance of the store.) It is perfectly located by all the bars in Fed Hill for drunken nights snack. The store itself is very small and really no where to sit. It looks clean and smells of cookies. The delivery area is limited but some more locations have opened so be sure to check before ordering. read more

When these two locations came to Baltimore, I was out of the country doing hoodrat things with my friends and totally missed their openings. Good thing is they stay open until 3A, so now while I'm in the city being young, wild & free I will come here! Insomnia cookies knew what was up when they built locations in both Federal Hill & Fells point - drunk college kids, that's what. Always hungry at 3 AM!! I tried my first cookie aboard the Yelp Bmore Drop It Like Its Yacht Elite Evite and can never turn back now. I sampled the double mint chocolate chip. What a sin!! I mean, it's gotta' be a sin to be so good! They were ooey, gooey and warm just how a chocolate chip cookie should be. Ahhh, loved them so much. I stopped in to Insomnia Cookies last night for the first time and it wasn't that bad. I wish that had a gluten free cookie but hey you can treat yourself every once in a while. It was your average cookie nothing too special. I would have given them a 4 star but the service was extremely poor. When I walked in the young lady who worked there was seated in the customer seating area talking on the phone. She seemed really annoyed when I asked her for help with my order. It was my first time so I wasn't sure what was on the menu and when I got my order wrong she gave me the look of death. I will not be returning. This place is great... warm cookies at all hours of the night... what more could you want?! They have a wide variety of cookies... however I wish they had some more 'out there' types of cookies. They have your standard chocolate chip, snicker doodle, m&m, oatmeal raisin etc. but I wish they had some outrageous kinds! I've had a number of their different flavors and they're delicious. I'd have to say my favorite is m&m. Simple but delicious when done right, and that they do... especially serving them warm! I recently had their ice cream sandwich. Cookie dough ice cream in between 2 m&m cookies. It was delicious! My wife put in an order for a few cookies for my birthday. When she went to pick up the cookies the door was locked (even though they should be open at 5pm). The employee was a woman sitting on the counter playing on her phone and just kept yelling back that the store was closed. My wife then asked what time they would be opening and just kept getting rude replies back with the employee screaming about how they were closed and calling her names and cursing at her to go away. She wouldn't give any explanation as to why they were closed or give a time when they would be opening for the day. This review is for customer service only! I didn't even get cookies. I walked inside and there was no one at the front to greet me--no biggie really. There was also one other female "customer" standing off to the side as well. After about 1 minute, the "customer" yelled to the back, calling the employee to the front by name. At that point, I realized the other lady standing with me was not a customer. She was a friend of the employee and she was hanging out in the store. The employee then came to the front and engaged in a conversation with her friend about something she has seen on her phone. She returned to the back to grab her phone to see the video her friend was telling her about. The friend was cursing and the entire conversation was very inappropriate for the there to be customers present. Meanwhile, the employee is laughing at her friend and looking at her phone. She never once acknowledged my presence. I didn't feel that I should have to break up their convo, so I just turned away from looking at the cookies at the counter and walked out. It always feels like a party whenever I stop in here - the staff is friendly and look like they're having a great time even amid a rush of hungry drunkards bombarding the sidewalk, but things do feel a bit disorganized and wait times can be exorbitant (30+ minutes the past two times I've gone, one time for a pick-up order), so I wouldn't consider this option if you're in a rush. That said, the staff has been very understanding when I've expressed my frustrations about waiting, and have hooked me up with some free cookies and milk for my troubles. Cookies are always fresh and never disappoint, so I will continue to shop here but I will be sure to order well in advance and be persistent when I arrive to make sure I'm not stuck waiting outside with a bunch of drunk idiots. This past weekend, there was a big drunk dude slumped on the trash can outside, fighting off another round of technicolor yawns which he so graciously poured onto the sidewalk for all passers-by to enjoy - really does some damage to your appetite. We had to stop into insomnia cookies for dessert after dinner! The cookies are SO soft and baked to perfection. I got a mint double chunk and an oatmeal raisin! They are baked to just the right time so they are still soft. I also got some birthday cake ice cream. I wish I had gotten the mint ice cream as the birthday cake was very sweet. It was really good, just too sweet for my taste at that moment. I would like to go back and try some more cookies! Great for late night treats. The WORST customer service experience I think I have had in Baltimore (which is saying A LOT for this town). Female with pink and black, waist-length braids, was serving us.....we go to order....THEY HAVE TWO COOKIES LEFT!!! Did she tell us this in a direct, assertive manner? No. Mumbles "1 mint, 1 (garbled english). Took FOUR times for me to hear her say 1 mint 1 white chocolate macadamia. I said "so you're saying you're almost out of just those 2 and you have all the other cookies?" She goes "No (acting as if I am the crazy one here) We only have TWO COOKIES left in the whole STORE!"
