Came here to satisfy my late night craving for cookies. This was my first time at insomnia especially in a different state. I needed a few minutes to look over the menu, however the cashier seemed a bit agitated. She did not look pleasant. She did not greet me, smile, ask what I would like or even attempt to show some customer service. She just stood at the register as I ordered 2 cookies. After she handed them to me she just walked away. Maybe it was because her friend was inside and she didn't feel like working. The cookies however were good and made this post worth the 2 stars. The edges were a little more crispy then I would like, but they got the job done for my late nigh sweet tooth! Going to try this place in FL and hope for a better experience. read more

Insomnia Cookies are good. This location is not. The employees here all seem to hate their job (understandable). Tonight, I walked into the store and there were at least 3 employees in the back. The bell on the door rang as I entered. They looked up, saw me, and continued doing what they were doing. I stood at the counter for a full minute and no one came to the counter. I again moved to make eye contact with an employee and waved to remind them that I was standing at the counter. Again, no one came to the counter. I left the store and got a cupcake next door at Midnite Confections (I got the sublime-inal which is lemon-flavored and delicious). Yes, I lived in Fed Hill and near this cookie place, I would weigh 500 lbs. This is the only cookie store I know of where you are served a cookie, warm and moist. I mean to touch. I love insomnia cookies, and I am always a sucker for deals! It was the bogo 12 packs. Their cookies are always warm, soft, delicious, and not too sweet. I love the holiday cookies too, I had the spicy hot chocolate (not pictured) and they have a candy cane white chocolate and a cinnamon whiskey cookie. My sister loves the double chocolate chunk and when I was there the employee told me that she didn't have many, so she told me to come back in 10 mins and made cookies to order ASAP which was so nice of her! read more

Don't get me wrong, the cookies are good, but they don't have that fresh out of the oven, melting chocolate feel when you take a bite. My cousin lives in New York and knew I had just gone through surgery and can't leave my house. The wonderful person that she is, orders cookies as a "get well soon" surprise to be delivered to me in Baltimore. She had ordered them at 11am. The ETA of the cookies were never updated, and she had called customer service and they told her driver would be on its way to pick up from Insomnia soon. HOURS roll by and she calls me, spoiling the surprise because at this point she's just wondering if they've reached me yet. 2:52PM I then call customer service to explain that my cousin ordered these surprise cookies at 11AM and they have still not arrived. Lady said driver is on the way to Insomnia and will be delivering my cookies in 30 mins. She was very kind and had issued a free cookie email to my cousin. HOWEVER, 1 hour later still NO COOKIES. At this point BOTH me and my cousin are on the phone w customer service. Her rep said the driver was on the way, my rep said the driver still hasn't come to Insomnia for pick up. Obviously with both customer service reps saying two different things, we cancelled the order and asked for a refund. LITERALLY 11am to 4pm. This has been an issue. Walking around Federal Hill after dinner, we came across this little cookie shack. We got 6 cookies ( $10 ) of various varieties to take home. 20 minutes later, the cookies were still warm and soft in the box. This has to be one of the worst experience I have every had. My wife placed a order for 24 cookies, we received confirmation that our order was placed. So we went to put up our late night snack. Well once we got to the 1059 S Charles location, the manager proceeds to close the shop with my family still in the store. Let me not forget this fool acted like he wanted to fight me. Service was not good. I was standing there for 5 minutes while the workers were in the back talking very loudly about something irrelevant. They acknowledged I was there by making eye contact with me as soon as I walked in because they heard the bell, and still continued to talk. Then when a worker did come to the front, he said "I'll be right back" AND THEN WENT TO THE BACK TO MAKE A POINT in the argument to his coworker. When he finally came back to the front, not only was he rude, but their cookie selection was very limited and the ice cream was down to the scraps of each bucket. The cookies were just perfectly made! The soft buttery center of each cookie extended all the way to the very brim and is met by the toasty edge. We got in line and wanted to try the new Red Velvet cookie they had (HIGHLY RECOMMEND - def get it while you can!), amongst other cookies, and the lady at the register told us that the next batch was coming out in like 5 min. During my visit to Baltimore while hanging out in Federal Hill we strolled past insomnia cookies. I saw the delivery car and my sister in law told me the cookies were absolutely delicious so of course I had to try them. The young lady behind the counter was very friendly and greeted us with a smile upon walking in. This location is tiny but adorable, big enough to order cookies and leave. There is a tiny bar with 3 stools that we decided to sit at. I ordered a box of 6 cookies which cost over $9. I have never paid this much for cookies so I figured they must be as awesome as everyone says they are and if any place who delivers cookies and stays open till 3am it speaks volumes ( so I thought). My order contained 4 snicker doodle, 1 sugar cookie, and 1 white chocolate macadamian nut cookie. The cookies are large but I was not impressed with the taste of any of them. They all tasted similar, a tad too sweet and I can't figure out what the rage is all about. I've had much better cookies and paid way less. Terrible service, and either slow delivery (usually over 1.5 hours) or your delivery doesn't show up at all. Completely unprofessional. I also find they have limited choices as cookies are always "not available." Going into the store is just as painful because of the interaction with the staff. Came here after a long day and wanted to enjoy some dessert and insomnia happened to be the only place open. I don't know what he was on...but literally took us a few minutes for us to get his attention until he finally snapped out of it and mumbled something under his breath. This place is literally so good it's sinful, and each time I order cookies from it I eat so many I get sick. That has to be a self-control thing or some unresolved cookie issues on my part. I got the super 6 box, essentially it's 6 cookies but you can replace the regular cookie for one of their deluxe ones. We got the triple chocolate deluxe cookie. A colleague of mine insisted that I try Insomnia Cookies so when I walked through Federal Hill, Baltimore and saw this place, I had to stop in. The shop had a quaint and cozy feel. We stepped to the counter and received a dry greeting but didn't care in that moment because we had one purpose...try these cookies. We got a six pack and were able to choose which cookies we wanted-white chocolate macadamia nut, snickerdoodle, oatmeal raisin, regular chocolate chunk, and double chocolate chunk. I did not have them all but the look on everyone's faces let me know that I was not the only one having a legit foodgasm. That white chocolate macadamia nut was sooooo good, oh my goodness. Anyway, we came back that next day and received another dry greeting, but again, we were there on business. Two "cookiewiches", one consisting of chocolate chunk with cookie dough, and other white chocolate macadamia nut with strawberry shortcake ice cream. The second one was amazing!
