After attending a volleyball game I was in the mood for something sweet. I knew that insomnia Cookies was open late and I have been wanting to try them. The store front is very small. You open the door and take a side step to get in line but really not a lot of room for more than 2-3 people at a time. Other than that it was a cute location and seemed pretty clean. The service was quick. I got four cookies. Double chocolate, (which was my favorite and worth the trip) snickerdoodle, sugar cookie and a brownie. They were all good but I would probably only go back for the double chocolate cookie. I've passed by various Insomnia Cookies locations plenty of times, usually noticing a crowd no matter the hour. I happened to be nearby and decided to finally give it a try. This particular spot was tiny... barely enough space for two customers inside at a time. The line was out the door, which I took as a good sign, but once I got inside, the energy felt pretty dull. The person who helped me didn't say a single word throughout the transaction. No greeting, no smile--just very flat and transactional. Honestly, it felt kind of sad--like he really didn't want to be there. I ordered the s'mores deluxe cookie, which was pretty good! Warm, gooey, and hit the spot. Prices were reasonable for a specialty cookie. One nice perk: their hours are super late--open well into the early morning, basically bar-close time (some nights like 3:00am), which is great if you're craving cookies after a night out. We were out near NE mpls and this dinky town location happen to be the closest. Parking on campus is metered I believe until midnight. We were able to find decent spots as it was late. The storefront is super tiny fits maybe 5-8 customers at a time. We ended up waiting outside until the people before us finished ordering. I got 2 cookies - chocolate chip & a confetti cookie. They were just okay for the price they were. I probably wouldn't go out my way to go back. My friend got a brookie w/ ice cream. They were out of every flavor of ice cream except 2 when we went. I tried insomnia for the first time because I've seen it on tiktok, I got the salted caramel and dreamweaver ice cream and they were good, cookie was warm and gooey, ice cream was fine. Yes, this place is a franchise but I felt the need to review it because it's just in the perfect location for college folks as it's open late! The cookies here are always warm which makes them extra delicious! I definitely enjoy the cookie ice cream sandwich but tbh I'm cool just eating a cookie or two with a cup of cold milk. What I love is that they have the classic cookies, deluxe cookies and featured cookies- which are seasonal cookies. For the classics, the White Chocolate Macadamia cookies are my go to and for the deluxe the Oatmeal Chocolate Walnut or S'mores cookies are the best! There are also vegan cookie options. In the summer one of the feature cookies was a blueberry muffin cookie that literally tasted like a blueberry muffin in cookie form like it's name! There are SOOO many things to love about getting cookies at 1 am! They were fresh, hot and absolutely delicious! But let me start at the beginning... We had a little trouble finding this hold in the wall storefront and ended up parking a few streets away. It was a pretty busy friday night so the street traffic was heavy and it was stop and go in that area. Once we found it, we were shocked at just how small the shop is, there is enough space for like 10 people to comfortable stand or sit in there. There was a line pretty much out the door to order cookies, and the wait was a little hard as most of the people acted intoxocated and had no clue what they wanted. It didn't help that there were so many choices for flavors, though it is amazing haha We got 18, a variety of the double chocolate chunk, regular chocolate chip, double chocolate mint, m&m and every single one was hot and fresh and perfect! We ate them for days and even three days later they still tasted good and chewy which we loved as we couldn't have eaten that many cookies in one night. I would definitely go back, though maybe on a weekday or earlier in the day on the weekend. Because we went on a friday night it was packed with a line practically out the door. Sometimes finding parking can be a problem, but that depends on the day and what time you go. When you come here and get a cookie, they are always warm and soft!
