Since it had been a few years since I've ate their cookies, I was excited for my cookies. I walked in to a clean store and was greeted promptly, but then asked if I could wait a moment while she went to the kitchen for a few minutes. Once she came back I proceeded to order and some flavors weren't available for 15 minutes and I didn't have that to eat I quickly adjusted my flavors, which were double chocolate chunk, chocolate chip,and sea salt caramel deluxe cookies. There was no line when I entered, and the girl at the register was very helpful in making decisions about what cookies to try. Ah, Insomnia Cookies. There's definitely a nostalgia factor for me. When I was in college, Insomnia Cookies was on campus. It was always tough to resist a late-night snack. To my surprise, as I walked to PHX Arena, I stumbled upon Insomnia Cookies. While I didn't have time to make a pitstop as my event was starting soon, you know what happened. I stopped by after the show. Service (4/5): Service isn't a big part of the experience. You order at the counter, you get your order right there, and you can either dine in or take it to go. Quick and easy. Ambiance (3.5/5): This location has a modern look to it and a decent amount of seating, both inside and on the small patio. The cookie shop is attached to a skyscraper, so you can also sit inside the building if you would prefer (which is what I did). Drinks (N/A): Cookies only for me on this visit. Food (3/5): To my surprise, Insomnia Cookies has expanded its offerings since I was in college. They have more cookies, and they even have ice cream. Since it was relatively late, I kept it simple: I went with the triple chocolate chip specialty cookie. If you order a specialty cookie, that means it's going to be a bit more expensive. And their cookies aren't cheap. But they are served warm, which is always next level when we're talking cookies. Here was the problem. The ends of the cookie were overcooked. So instead of that perfect soft chewiness and melted action you get on a perfectly baked cookie, this one was hard on the outside. There's a nice selection to choose from and between the m&m cookie and the confetti cookie, I opted in on the confetti. I had no regrets! Crispy edges and warm center. After waiting an hour, I called to ask what was going on and was told, "There is construction nearby," which honestly sounded like a bogus excuse. I explained that my last order with Insomnia Cookies took hours and was eventually canceled, and now I was dealing with another terrible experience. The person on the phone claimed to be the manager, but instead of offering a solution, she just said "sorry." She told me she'd call me back in 20 minutes after "working on my order" -- but of course, never did. On top of that, these cookies are wildly overpriced. A dozen runs about $40, and that's with an $8 promotion bringing it down to $30. That's insane for what you get, especially when the service is this bad. The delivery system is a mess too. This location uses their own drivers, but if they don't have one available, they scramble to find someone through DoorDash -- which means super long waits. Every place I've ordered from that uses this setup has been painfully slow, and Insomnia Cookies is no exception. Bottom line: Long waits, overpriced cookies, and horrible customer service. We were confused right away because the door outside was locked & the sign was not on. We were thinking Insomnia was closed but saw a person walk out w/ cookies through another entrance. Firstly, the location: super convenient and easy to get to (and very dangerous as it's close to work!) The place is spotless and well put together, albeit small. It isn't somewhere you'd want to spend a lot of time but it's okay for what it is. Everything I've had here, from the caramel pecan ice cream to the fresh baked cookies has been divine. I had the peach cheesecake ice cream today and it blew my mind. The service kinda leaves some room for improvement, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. Friday evening, establishment is empty. It's located at the One Center, right next to Yogi Grill. They had few cookies for display. I ordered 1 white chocolate, macadamia nut, one oatmeal, raisin, one snickerdoodle, and one salted caramel cookie. My son ordered a Blondie brownie with two scoops of vanilla ice cream. We were going to just get him a chocolate chip cookie, but the menu looked great, and everything smelled amazing in there so we ended up getting a box of six.I ended up taking a bite of the chocolate chip cookie which was absolutely delicious and highly recommended and also of the peanut butter cookie, not my favorite. I placed an ordered with Uber Eats to get some cookies and ice cream from this place. The cookies and ice cream never came to my house. NONE OF MY CAMERA ALERTS WENT OFF!!!!!!!!! It would have said and showed a person came up to my door to drop off food. I have more than 3 cameras that over look the front of my house. So I get a ton of notifications from them. I know that they do their own deliveries, (that's what Uber Eats customer service told me) so when the customer service team called insomnia they told the person they dropped it off and memorized what my instructions is on Uber Eats when a person drop off my food at my house is. So the person that "delivered" my food lied saying they dropped off my food but never did. I even called insomnia cookie they didn't pick up the phone at all.
