    Cheesecakes!!!
    Sue S.

First time here. Saw it on Fox 10 and have wanted to stop in. Omg... such a cute lace and so many choices. We were offered samples. Decided on 4 different pieces. They sell them per slice. Love that idea!! You can KRW order a whole cheesecake 2 days in advance( minimum). Everyone was so nice and friendly!! Can't wait to return!!

Delicious cheesecake!! My mom and I both got the cookie butter cheesecake and thoroughly enjoyed it. It seems like they generally have quite a few flavor options but we went later in the evening so only a few to choose from, which was expected. This is more of a grab and go place. Quick and friendly service.

Such a cute little shop. We ordered 3 cheesecake, pumpkin, apple crumble and banana pudding. All were delicious. The ladies gave us great suggestions because they had a variety of flavors. And these didn't disappoint. Great suggestions and great service.

I've been meaning to pop in here for such a long time - Yelpers love this place! Anyway they have a fabulous selection of flavors to choose from and all of them are like HUGE. They do have a few tables inside so you can enjoy your cheesecake onsite, but we were picking up to take home. They have the perfect sized containers so your cake doesn't slide around everywhere. They even had a water station near the front counter :) Service was quick, friendly and efficient, although I wasn't a fan of being asked for a tip on this simple of a transaction with no table service. Slices are $7.49 or $7.99 each depending on flavor selected. We chose original and strawberry YUM! Expensive but when you just want a slice- it's a decent option and where else can you find this quality?

We stopped in for our dessert of their delectable cheesecake...it was a Thursday evening after our antiquing so being 9pm they weren't busy! Love this quaint shop they always keep a well stocked case for you to choose from...we got our favorites their tiramisu but since we had a freebie from the rewards card we dared to try something different! So we decided on the s'mores.... it looked so good, well the thing was basically it was just the s'mores stuff all happening on top then your creamy plain cheesecake underneath! We're hardcore cheesecake lovers so we're not gonna knock it because underneath was amazing but what was the point is all... didn't seem like a whole package of a s'mores! Next time I'm thinking cookies & cream! :-)

This is a little place off of 28th street and Indian School. It's very small inside with about two tables with two chairs. It's pretty much just get your cheesecake and go enjoy it somewhere. The service is quick, and friendly staff when I went there. The cheesecakes are soooooo good, definitely a must try.

Been seeing this all over socials and wanted to give it a try. The staff were super friendly and the inside was clean. This place has very good cheesecake. We ordered the key lime, cookie butter and brownie cheesecakes. Loved that they weren't overly sweet and how light they were. My husband and daughter really like theirs. The minus one star is because the key lime zest was super bitter and left an aftertaste in my mouth. Other than that, they were really good.

3 years later, is Banham's still around.... let's check in! ABSOLFRICKENUTELY! Look at the video! I want to make pricing transparency clear 3 years ago things were a lot more affordable traditional cheesecake $5.99, 2025 pricing $7.49...have you done the math yet????? $1.50 inflation, I will gladly take that price increase over 3 years all day long! I will not be surprised if we see it jump maybe $1 this year if things don't settle down with food prices... it would be nice if there were a few ready made FULL cakes in the case for sale, instead of ordering 48 hours ish in advance. Maybe top 3 flavors? Across the top shelf creating the desire, for a full cheesecake. If you just did traditional cheesecake and had a small amount of addables (raspberry, blueberry and strawberry) and maybe 2 more top Cheesecakes. The rest can be 48 hours turn. Just a thought... I teared up just a bit clicking 4 stars (4.5 is where I wanted it to be). I made a few notations in my last review in regards to the Blueberry Cheesecakes, lack of blueberries in the actual cheesecake. Well the same thing this time around layer of blueberry preserves on top with whip cream and 1 blueberry on top. Cheesecake out shined the flavor. Raspberry cheesecake I would have the same comment. Brownie Cheesecake beautifuly moist, multi layers of chocolate flavor and brownie bottom! Suerstar of the show.... mother's day special: strawberry shortcake cheesecake! Just like the brownie cheesecake layers of flavor! Please flip the strawberry to see the top and not the cut center. Moist cake with layers of strawberry cream on top and in the center, shortcake and layer of cheesecake....drooling again! Arizona.Exposed

Audibly gasped when I took my first bite. Absolutely delightful I cannot believe I live walking distance and have never even walked in. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. It's a cute hidden gem in this plaza, like I said I've never been here before and been walking distance to this place for months. Truly delectable! If you're looking for a sweet treat grab a slice & if you're hosting a get together grab an entire cake. Sooooo good

I came here for my Banham's fix this week and got 2 flavors I haven't tried yet. I got the Salted Caramel Pretzel cheesecake and Keylime. Both of them were delicious (as I knew they'd be). I of course will be back because this is my favorite cheesecake place ever. Aside from the cheesecake, I was also welcomed right as I walked in and the customer service experience was friendly and pleasant.

So I will get the one quick note out of the way, I was not offered a sample after stating it was my first time in. Samples were discussed with the person after me. I did get service overall though. This is a cute little shop with big slices, they aren't skimping here. I ordered the cookie butter and it was amazing, luxury on a fork.

Shall we? + The space is charming, pastries' display impressive, staff seem intent, good location and vibe. - The prices, lack of a menu on display, and details. See below. Latte large requested cup and saucer and almond croissant. Inquired about quiche but did not look attractive sitting alone in plastic in a cooler. Poor thing. The Latte Latte well made, four shots. Alright, then. Good cup and saucer. Amen. Then asked about stirrers. Told to use a plastic spoon. Please tell me if anyone in France would ever stir a real hot coffee in a proper cup and saucer with a plastic utensil. Anyone? Right. Please offer wooden stirrers to guests and bonus points for a real spoon for those of us who don't want a paper cup. It really makes a difference. It would be criminal to use plastic. The (Sort Of) Almond Croissant An almond croissant is the secret test. It's like tasting vanilla at an ice cream store. Forget the others. This is the litmus. But before we talk almond, I had to do a double take on the receipt that thankfully I emailed myself. Because is this in Soho? West Hollywood? The Bay? How did this turn out to be $14? Because the almond croissant is $7. Say again. Never mind the best croissant spot in the West Village is less than that, but I took a bite, and oh my. I almost got up and said something. But I really was not in the mood. I had other things to attend to. Where do I start. Well, there was barely an almond to speak of. Hint of almond. The paste was like a disappearing act. But that I can handle. It was the texture. It was hard. Tasted old. Bland. Forgotten. Like someone forgot about the almonds, forgot them in the car. It was July 4th, and they remembered. I've had better croissants at airports. Ok, in the EU but you get the point. Did I just choose the wrong pastry, or the wrong day? They all looked pretty. Everyone got the berry thing. The Table My table was wobbly. Not awful but enough to be annoying. Between that and my phantom $7 almond croissant. The one left behind before someone remembered the almonds. That one. Can anyone use one of its cousins to hold up this table and fix this wobble? Might have been a better idea than breakfast. The Restroom Ok, cute idea to have a kitchen utensil as the restroom key. Nifty thought. Here's another. Can the liquid dispenser for soap be repaired or replaced? That too is wobbly and broken. You see the theme here. And dry hands. The (Bare) Display Case I had read about sandwiches. I love me an egg salad. The display case was bare. Maybe M-F? Lots of (plastic) pellegrinos. No Perrier or other sparkling in a real glass bottle. And definitely no Orangina. The Plants The plastic plants on each table. For the outdoors, sure. For an indoor French cafe table with $7 croissants, not so much. The theme again. The Staff They seemed stressed. I don't know why. When I ordered I felt more tension and rushed then a my corner pizza shop in NY. I don't get it. They tried though. Like it feels serious. High stakes. No smiles. All three not one smile. An Encore? Maybe. Overall, maybe. I don't know if I chose the wrong pastry and the wrong day. Could it be that. The Bread The bread looked good. I will give it that. And more expensive than my local bakery in NY. My Orwashers loaf purchased weekly is $12. And the slice it. And bigger. And they smile. But maybe if the bread is good, I am happy. It's hard to find good bread in Phoenix let alone this area. The Menu Please have it displayed somewhere with prices. Think that's a professional courtesy. I went online to see the menu from my phone. Or even a code to link. But something. A strange visit. Quite different than expected. I had hoped. Now I don't know. If anyone of the items mentioned are addressed for the next visit, whether the wobbly table, wooden stirrer or real spoon, or restroom soap, or even better a smile, or an almond more, I'd be vastly delighted. I'd love for this to work. There is time.

And that's a big statement considering I have lived in NYC, LA, and DC, all with far larger French communities than here. I had both the regular croissant and the chocolate croissant (pain au chocolat). Both were crispy and flaky on the outside and then deliciously "pillowy" on the inside. Best thing about them....there was not an overly high dependence on butter. The chocolate from the chocolate croissant was as good as it gets. I will come by to try some other things as well, the eggs looked great. Service was impeccable but I'm completely blown away. Not to mention JL Patisserie rips you off with their pricing and the lady has some sort of ego. Not the case here, the pricing for the superior products is also much more in line with chefs who like to create great products than business owners that like to charge you for that they think are.

The food is consistently excellent, and the pastries are every bit as good as those I enjoyed while visiting Paris. As a locally owned business, Essence is an important part of the community. It's the kind of place where I almost always run into someone I know, which adds to its charm. My favorites are the seasonal omelets--they're so light and fluffy they're like little clouds on a plate. The specials are always worth considering, too. And no visit is complete without a croissant. Whether it's a savory cheese croissant or a sweet passion fruit and chocolate creation, they're all fantastic. My personal favorite is the pistachio croissant. Their French Macaroons are a decadent treat to take with you. Service can occasionally take a little longer than expected, but quality takes time, and the results are always worth the wait. If you're looking for a neighborhood bakery and café that combines exceptional food, world-class pastries, and a welcoming community atmosphere, Essence is one of Phoenix's gems.

Everything looked so good I was practically drooling! After making my selection of an almond croissant and a coffee cronut I made my way up to the counter. It tasted good but it also tasted a day old, which was very very disappointing! The coffee cronut was good too -- it had many layers and was very rich. The coffee cream on it was average -- just basically didn't taste as good as it looked. Unfortunately I can never get those calories back, LOL. The Korean iced milk coffee was good but honestly couldn't taste a difference from regular coffee. Overall the presentation was top notch but the actual tasting experience was less than average.
