By focusing on the LGBTQ community, Inspire is able to provide specialized care for folks who need a safe space to express themselves and grow in a non-judgemental and accepting environment. This kind of environment is especially important for transgender men and women. Inspire has been providing effective and supportive care for trans clients from the very beginning. Another specialty Inspire Recovery offers is creative processing groups. Clients learn the lessons of recovery through art, music, and writing. There is an overall safe space for self-expression at Inspire Recovery. For many, this is the approach needed to secure their footing on the path to long-term recovery. Inspire Recovery is doing something that no other treatment center in Florida is doing it is serving specifically the LGBTQIA+ population. They have a true passion for the LGBTQIA+ community, and their hearts are in the right place. The program is set up perfectly! Someone can go through the program at their speed, no one is being pushed to rush through the program, this is something that I have not seen in any treatment center before. Inspire's groups are amazing as well, they are not just focused on substance abuse, but also focus on other issues such as acceptance. The location is perfect as well only a couple miles away from the beach so after a leaving the clinical office you are able to stop just by the beach! Inspire recovery took me in why I was at my most broken and desperate. They helped me come to terms with myself and treated me like a human being which as a intersex woman is not something that I was used to at all. They helped me recover from my meth addiction, and connected me with the community resources that I desperately needed at the time. They took me to get a bus pass, helped me get on disability, showed me where all the local food banks where, gave me a place to live, and all in all saved my life. They are extremely good people and I trust them with my life. I went there close to when they first opened in 2016 they are really really good people. I am so grateful that I was introduced to Inspire Recovery. I know a number of people who recommended Inspire because they have an expertise in working with the LGBTQ community. I didn't believe that Inspire would be any different than any other treatment center I had been to in the past. Many places claim to be LGBTQ friendly but then have no idea about my needs or the language I use. However, Inspire Recovery is definitely different!! My favorite thing about Inspire was their unique approach to treating my addiction. They gave me all sorts of new tools to use when I was feeling sad and alone. I went there to help overcome my self harming addiction I wasn't really addicted to drugs or alcohol but cutting and self harm had taken me to lows that where just as low as some of the things people where sharing in the groups that we had. The art therapy classes where my favorite cause it gave me something to do to try to make myself feel better. I really loved the focus on trying to learn safe, new, and healthy coping skills. read more
