I told the guy I do not have the money. I told him that had I been made aware of this, I would not have gone to this place. He said that while I was there he was going to speak to me, but decided against it. Because he chose not to tell me at the beginning, I chose not to pay. The psych nurse, Barbara L Bryant, prescribed a MUCH higher dose of a medication. My pharmacy alerted me to the mistake. She is a nasty, arrogant, condescending person that has no business doing what she does. It took 4 days, my communicating with various staff members for the mistake to be corrected. And Barbara L Bryant lied to me and other staff that she did not make this mistake - that it was the pharmacy's mistake. The therapist Sally Bartolucci is awful. None of the clients in the place liked her. Her group sessions were useless. Her therapist skills are weak. The group meeting room was barely air conditioned (this was summer time). It was hot, humid and smelled of perspiration. The food was awful. The room was filthy and too small. EVEN WORSE: I received a collection agency called Grimley Financial ($825) more than two years after i was there for the services of Barbara L. Bryant Florida license number: aprn3042932 for her services. When ever I called and left messages, no one at Ambrosia returned my calls. It took me repeated phone calls to finally hear from the person in charge of billing at Ambrosia, Cindy Sicard, 561-545-1086, csicard@ambrosiatc.com This was after a week of repeated phone calls and NEVER getting a response from ANYONE at Ambrosia. Her callous response to me was that I should have checked the EOB! I NEVER RECEIVED A BILL FROM AMBROSIA IN THOSE TWO YEARS VIA EMAIL OR USPS. Telling people to check the EOB is an unacceptable, unethical way to treat people who were seeking mental health treatment. I should have received bills either electronically or via USPS, which is what most medical practices do. So, I waited about a week after speaking with Ms. Sicard. Then Grimley told me that all communication was to be handled with Ambrosia, not Grimley. So I reached out again to Ms. Sicard repeatedly and often to get an update about the situation. NO RESPONSE. Finally, after weeks of phone calls and emails and NO RESPONSE, a person who said he was the leader of billing (I think it was really the CEO Dr. Danesh Alam - why lie?) called me. NOT an apology for my ignored messages. He wanted me to modify this review. SO, I am modifying this to report that finally three weeks after my initial contact with Ambrosia, I WAS contacted by him. This person tried to explain what had happened with my insurance and how it reached the point that it got to the collection agency. I reminded him that I NEVER in over TWO years received a bill via USPS or email. He was surprised by that and said he would look into that too. He also claimed that Barbara L. Bryant was fired because of prescription mistake with me. Apparently Barbara L. Bryant she was out of my insurance company's network. At  the time, no one at Ambrosia told me she was out of network. Had I been notified that she was out of network, I never would have agreed to see her. This is unethical, unscrupulous, dishonest and money grabbing behavior. It is taking advantage of people at their most vulnerable time. Even if I signed something, this was taking advantage of people in a very vulnerable circumstance. I believe it falls under the No Surprises Act of 2022. NOTE THAT BARBARA BRYANT SUBMITTED A REVIEW OF MIDWEST DETOX. THIS IS FRAUDULENT OF A PROVIDER TO WRITE A REVIEW OF A PLACE WHERE SHE WORKS.

I was give a piece of loose leaf paper to give my contact information to the education coordinator. The program building is in a strip mall which is where the intake took place and is not on the same location as the housing facilities. The tech and nurse, while very nice, were not helpful and were not able to give me straight answers about the facility. The biggest RED FLAG was when I asked to see the housing facilities. They were unwilling to let me see the housing facilities. I spoke with one of the administrators after back and forth with the intake nurse and letting them know that that this was not acceptible as I wanted to be sure that my child was going to be in a safe environment. I was told by the administrator that this would not be possible without "scheduling well in advance" to be given a tour. At this point I stopped the intake process. This was after driving almost 200 miles from my home to take my kiddo there.

My experience at Beachway was complicated. Parts of the program genuinely helped me, especially the…read moregroups. I learned skills I still use around DBT, emotional regulation, boundaries, slowing down before reacting, and recognizing dysregulation. Being away from home gave me space to focus on myself, and I made meaningful connections with other clients. I expected residential treatment to build on the work I had already done with my outpatient therapist and psychiatrist. I believe I signed releases allowing Beachway to communicate with both. However, my therapist at home was not contacted to establish background or discuss work we had already completed, and she did not receive notes from my Beachway therapists afterward. I am also unsure whether my psychiatric records were reviewed or incorporated into treatment planning. Several individual therapy assignments repeated work I had already done extensively at home. At times, treatment felt more like moving through a predetermined framework than something tailored to my history and progress. I also did not know until later that I could ask to meet with my individual therapist more than once a week. I struggled with how my initiative was sometimes interpreted. After a group on boundaries, I wrote boundaries for my family and asked another therapist to help me review them. I later felt chastised by my primary therapist for doing so and never received the individualized help I had been seeking. When I worked independently on concepts introduced in groups, I felt criticized for "controlling" my own therapeutic journey and was told this likely reflected how I showed up at home or difficulty with trust and interpersonal relationships. I understand therapy should challenge you, but I sometimes felt broad assumptions were being made rather than explored collaboratively. Communication involving my ROI also became a concern. On at least two occasions, my therapist's account of what had been said differed from what my partner told me. In one instance, my therapist attributed a statement to me that I do not remember making. When I tried to clarify these discrepancies, I did not feel they were adequately resolved, which made it harder to feel secure in the therapeutic relationship. I was also uncomfortable with the emphasis on extending treatment. At one point, I was told therapists could tell within about five minutes of meeting someone whether they needed to extend their stay. The pressure around staying longer became stressful and felt like it took time and emotional energy away from making the most of the time I could stay. After discharge, I have had difficulty reaching people, getting necessary documentation completed, and connecting with resources. At the same time, I continue to receive promotional emails for other Beachway programs and retreats, which has been disappointing when follow-up on actual care needs has been difficult. I do not regret my experience. I gained useful skills, benefited from groups, developed greater awareness of my emotional regulation, and grew during my time there. But I believe it could have been much better with stronger coordination with existing providers, more individualized treatment, clearer communication about therapy options and ROIs, and better follow-through after discharge. If you already have an established therapist or psychiatrist, I would recommend asking how they will be involved, whether prior therapeutic work will be reviewed, how often you can meet individually with your therapist, what will be shared with your ROI, and what follow-up support you can expect. I came to Beachway prepared to work hard. My biggest disappointment was feeling that some of that motivation and initiative was treated as something to correct instead of something that could have been used to create a more collaborative, individualized treatment experience.

The staff GENUINELY cares about the clients. No one is there just for a paycheck. I have severe PTSD and the management made every accommodation to help me. They treated my PTSD, depression, and anxiety each as individual diagnoses. Brent, Erin, and Dan especially helped me get to the very root of my alcohol addiction, and not just treating the symptoms. The client culture there is very close-knit, family-like, and accepting and supportive of each other, and I was able to contribute to that. The experience was, and I don't use this term loosely, life-changing. I now feel that I have the tools, skills, and guidance that I missed so many times before. I went here because of Google's search results and no where else to turn. They lied to me every…read morestep of the way. I was told I wouldn't have to pay anything, and that my insurance would cover it. When I arrived in Florida, they said I would have to pay my $5,000 deductible for Aetna. The facility had many OSHA problems, as well as general housing problems. The staff did not look after the patients, and as a result, there were many problems with the patients due to sex and violence after dark. I wanted to go home, but they kept telling me I should stay, and wouldn't write me a permission to work unless I did. So I stayed for a little over 2 months, and was finally released. Barely a month after I came home, I got a bill from them for around $27,000, which also showed they got around $200,000 from my insurance. Plenty enough for my stay and the lack of staff and maintenance. This is a predatory company that relies on the weak. If you're in a situation needing help, DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! They will bleed you dry.
