I cannot recommend Talia enough! As a new mom, I felt overwhelmed and lost in the midst of the…read morepostpartum phase. Working with Talia, I felt heard and supported in a way I hadn't experienced before. She created a safe and judgment-free space where I could express all my feelings and struggles, and helped me navigate through this challenging time with such compassion and insight. What I really appreciated was how she tailored our sessions to my unique needs, offering practical tools to manage stress, rebuild confidence, and find a sense of balance. She provided strategies not just for dealing with the immediate challenges of postpartum, but for creating a healthier mindset moving forward. Her approach is warm, professional, and deeply empowering. Thanks to Talia, I feel more connected to myself. I am embracing my new role as a mom. But I am most thankful for Talia supporting me to find a clearer sense of purpose and direction.

I never actually saw a provider here; this review is for the intake process. After filling out an…read moreonline intake, I got a text message claiming to be from the practice suggesting a provider. This provider didn't align with what I had said I was looking for and I asked for a number to call and their hours. They said they prefer to text to keep a paper trail of conversations and continued to ask me questions. I replied that I wasn't comfortable texting about my therapeutic goals due to privacy and security concerns. They never responded. I think it's extremely unethical to not only force potential clients into an non-secure method of communication after they have expressed discomfort with it, but to then fully ghost people seeking mental health services.

I want to share my extremely disappointing experience with psychologist Elena in Talking Works. My…read morehusband and I were going through a critical time in our relationship and urgently needed an in-person consultation. We were offered an appointment with Elena. A few days before the session, she personally called to ask if we were sure we wanted to come in person or would prefer Zoom. I clearly explained that in-person was essential for us, and she confirmed it. On the day of the appointment, we arranged everything to be able to come: found a nanny for our kids, paid for her round-trip taxi, and carefully planned our time. Just 15 minutes before the scheduled session, Elena called and told us her car wouldn't start and she wouldn't be coming. She immediately suggested doing the session over Zoom -- which made it feel like she never intended to show up in the first place. We tried to find a solution I even offered to come to her instead, and she suddenly mentioned that she lives in Staten Island. Interestingly, there was no way she would've made it to Brooklyn in 15 minutes anyway. We turned around and headed home. A few minutes later, she offered to refer us to another therapist. We went back to the office, where the atmosphere was far from welcoming. Still, we had a session with a therapist named Lana. After the session, I asked Lana what had happened to Elena, and she said Elena had a "flat tire" even though Elena herself told us earlier that her car "wouldn't start." The inconsistency was obvious. It felt like we simply weren't expected or prioritized. At such a vulnerable moment when we truly needed support, we were met with a complete lack of respect for our time and emotional state. It was not only inconvenient, but deeply upsetting. Frankly, I find it hard to believe that a therapist who treats clients with such disregard can truly help anyone. Not recommended. If being heard and supported matters to you, look elsewhere.
