I have been coming from California every other week to work with him and on all his problems with IRS and etc. When I have been there at a week at a time I have been eating with him on all three meals. I paid $125 and then $250 for meal tickets. The last time was there (July 18th Thursday) having breakfast I ordered oatmeal and toast and bacon. Johnny brought my oatmeal, I prepped it and waited for my toast and bacon. Had no problem watching him wait on residents, but when he started bussing tables I waved down. He went and brought my toast and bacon on a hot plate, the toast and bacon was cold. Don't understand the hot plate, but when he sat the plate down he said can I ask you a question? I said sure, you every heard of patients? I said Johnny, "where I made I mistake I should of asked for my breakfast to come at the same time. He just walked away. I will not eat there again, when I come and visit my brother and goes to the dinning room I will just have water and set with him and discuss what we have planned for the day. I want to apologize, caught in the moment, I am very happy with Merrill Gardens, they are taking very very care of my brother, I should of just emailed Chef Stevens. He is the one to handle his staff.

Meanwhile, he has been paying EXTRA for his stay and the last 2 times I was there, his floors were dirty and his room was dusty. It is smaller compared to the actual assisted living area, but there seems to be less patients in that part of the facility. Every nurse and cna I encountered while visiting my grandpa was friendly, extremely helpful and had a positive attitude when we asked about him. He has short term memory loss (possible onset dementia) so he doesn't remember what he did throughout the day (or any day before then). But.. I'm happy he's in a place that takes care of him and lets his family know what's going on when we ask for updates and I was able to see this first hand and view the area he's staying in. I will say the inside is a bit out dated, could use a re-vamp esp the rooms. His bathroom had a leaky faucet and the toilet wouldn't stop running. Also the door to get into his room sticks, which makes it hard to open and close. And to get into the memory care side you need to ring the doorbell to be let in. Also plenty of parking up front for visitation of loved ones.

It is basically a cruise ship in a building. They have had to scale back some of the social activities post-COVID, but that is to be expected. The activities director, Kelsey, is amazing. She has been there the entire time and does some super fun activities with the residents. We were able to help out and join in the fun a few times. They have had quite a bit of turnover with staff in the last few years. Some of the new med techs and support staff are learning their positions, but they still do a nice job. They have different levels of care they provide their residents that determine how much the monthly "rent" is. The less assistance you need, the lower the cost. They also have a secure memory care unit for those with advanced memory issues. Overall, we are glad that our family member is there receiving the care they need while being able to feel a sense of independence at this point in their life.

I find the care givers professional, easy to talk to, and, of course, they are knowledgeable. Most of the staff have years of experience and understand the needs of the residents. There are lots of activities as well as excursions to local shops and entertainment. Yes, the food is very good. Management keeps a careful eye on the day-to-day menus. Oh! And there is always ice cream. Search this website for more information. You can also schedule a tour of the facility. By the way, there have been a lot of upgrades since I moved here. The lobby area has been redesigned. There is new artwork on the ways. The halls have recently been painted and the are some interesting artwork hanging throughout the facility. I am enjoying living here very much. Eva E.

I happened to be here on Christmas Eve and the General manager, Dawn stood out to me because she was helping out with taking orders and busting tables. I have been to so many retirement homes and assisted living homes and I never see the managers or directors helping in the kitchen, especially not on Christmas. Dawn put a net over her hair and go to work. She spoke to everyone and had such a pleasant attitude. I think she is an amazing example of a leader. More establishments need to take note! Next, Olly! Always pleasant. Always telling everyone what activities is going on or what is coming up next. Also always takes the time to speak to me and everyone passing by. Olly enjoys the job and has passion for this field, I can tell! Always smiling and cheerful, even if there's a lot to do and plan! Next, Cheryl! As soon as I walk in she is at the front desk, smiling, happy, and handling whatever tasks she faced with. I speak to Cheryl for just a few minutes when I leave and exit but she truly makes you feel like you have known her for so long! She is the perfect person to have at the front desk. Lastly, Elizabeth, the lead server! So amazing, positive, quick with service. I see why she is the lead. She comes to work with a smile on her face and makes you feel very welcomed. She knows her residents, she knows what they typically order and ensures everything is good before you leave that dining room. These employees truly stand out and as stated, I have been to so many retirement homes and I haven't ever come across a place that had great employees across the board. In addition to the employees being great, it's clean here, well kept, lots of activities going on. I'd recommend this place to anyone in search of place for their loved one.

My beautiful lady, Mary Lou was here as a guest during her transition from being at home. Unfortunately, she's at the moment now where she needs assisted living and that extra care. It's been a long and stressful time. Rough couple of months. Finally, while this was not permanent the staff and facilities here truly were a "god send!" This is a place where your loved ones are in great hands. The rooms primarily are not private but accommodate two individuals. They are co- ed. You never know how long your neighbor in the next bed will be here. The telephone and television are on both sides of the bed, but the loudness can interfere with the patients comfort level. The doctor and nurses here are so overwhelming great the way that they handle the patients care and pain levels. The patient, even Mary Lou, my angel, does not want to be here. She wants to go home . There is no more home for her. It's assisted living. They make this transition easier for the patient. The visiting hours are longer than normal and all an individual needs to do is sign it. You're allowed to bring outside food and drinks for patients . You can decorate and adorn their space with flowers and other trinkets to make them feel a little piece of home. Love is the focus and makes the world turn. Sometimes we cannot decide where we will be. When it comes to the end we will go in and out of who and where we are ?! My Miss Marylou, my angel you are loved and will be continued to be loved as long as you are here. We will go beyond to make you happy.

My mom has…read morebeen here for several weeks and was transferred from an acute rehab for continued nursing and physical therapy. It seems as though the care provided has been no different than had we put her in hospice... mind you, we are nowhere near that point in her life. Her weakness has only gotten worse, physical therapy has not been done as we were advised it would be, and she continues to lose weight, her muscle strength, and has been laid up in her bed for more than three weeks now with very little movement. She has become stiff and rigid in the position that she's in and is very painful to even attempt to move her into a sitting position. Communication from the staff and her case manager has been extremely poor. I was notified last week on Wednesday that Medicare was only providing one more week of treatment for her and have yet to be provided a discharge date. I have left several messages for the staff with no response and still don't know when I need to set up transfer for her to depart that facility. Based on the timeframe provided, it would appear that I have 24 hours or so from now, yet no information has been provided to our family on when she will be discharged. Her time at this facility has been a complete waste of time and only further set back any progress she had made prior to admission. While Mom says "most of the people are nice," she also said that they very rarely even check on her and never move her. Please do your research to find the best fit for your loved one. We thought we had, and while we understand that skilled nursing is a lower level of care, we feel that there is zero excuse for the lack of treatment she has been provided. It is also important to note that many times when we have been there visiting, there have been other patients crying out for help from their rooms that has gone on for more than 10 minutes before anyone responds to their request or urgency. This is uncalled for! The staff is there to care for these patients and they hardly acknowledge the calls for assistance... definitely not in a timely manner. We are extremely disappointed with our experience and how our loved one has been cared for, or lack there of.
