This is the second year we stay at this camp site and we love it. The first year i had campnsite 108 which is by the volleyball net and over night we had some random people walking through out site to get to the play ground. But other then that, no noise complaints and we had a good time. This year, we reserved site 117. This site is a water front with power. Only thing i have to complain about this site is that the firepit ring is too close to the water, so the bottom of the pit is covered in water. However, despite this issue, i called the office and they were able to come here and fix the problem right away. They went back to their garage and got us a portable firepit so we can enjoy our vacation. Super friendly staff, 2nd time i enjoyed their stay... and already reserved for next year !!! read more

Great place for a weekend getaway! New owners are super friendly and accommodating. Great spot for fishing, or taking your boat out. Bathrooms are nice and clean. They took out the quarter machine for the showers, but I wouldn't mind either way - a hot shower is a luxury item when camping. Insta Launch Campground is definitely a place I'd like to go back and stay again. read more

A friend and I traveled a good distance for some Great Lakes salmon fishing. Seeing they had access to Lake Michigan and we could dock our boat at the campsite we thought this was the obvious choice. But being careful we called ahead to make sure we could dock a 24' salmon boat at the dock and fit down the river access to the lake. They assured us it wouldn't be a problem. When we arrived however we noticed immediately a railroad bridge over the river with about 5' clearance. Definitely not enough for most boats including a Great Lakes boat. The other disappointment was the campsites and noise. Bring salmon fishermen we were getting up at 3-4am each morning. Unfortunately for us we had two different groups of kids as sites next to us that played music and partied until after midnight-1am. We were told they have an 11pm quiet period but it was clearly not enforced. To end on a positive note the staff were friendly and they have a fish cleaning station. read more

Great tackle shop but run down crowded campground that is flooded. I came and left the same day..

My husband, my "special needs" sister and myself rented the CoHo lodge for a weekend in July. The rest of my family had rented lots because they had trailers. We arrived early and was told we could not get in the lodge because it was being cleaned. We spent time with family at their sites and went to some garage sales. We waited until late evening before we tried again to get in to the lodge. We used our sleeping bags instead of getting in the beds just in case. Not knowing for sure if the beds had been cleaned. The next morning I realized how dirty the lodge was. I went and told the manager that it looked like nobody had cleaned a thing. There was still dirt on the floors, cobwebs in the windows and stains on the toilet seat. There was not place else to go and the manager assured us she would send someone over right away to take care of it. Again we did not get back to the lodge until later that night. What I found the next morning was still unsanitary. The freezer had dead bugs in it, the floor register was clogged with so much dirt air could not flow through, the ceiling fan had months of dust accumulated on it, the bathroom door still had cobwebs and dust around the frame behind the door and the molding around the tub had dirt and mildew. We trusted Insta Launch to have a lodge that was clean and sanitary for us especially with the Covid 19 virus. again I went to the complain and talked the owner's wife. I had pictures to show her the condition of the lodge. She asked me to email them to her husband. I did email them to ,Jim the owner of Instal Launch, and his response was because of the covid 19 virus he could not get the spring cleaning done. Nobody wanted to work The lodge should never have been rented if it could not be cleaned and sanitized. Please do not rent the lodge. Our family will never go there again. Dee H read more

Stayed here for a night for a friend's 30th birthday party. I had originally reserved a tent site, but we ended up staying in the cabin, which was really nice. I was unable to reserve a tent site over the phone if I was just staying 1 night, so I had to reserve it for 2 nights and put down the deposit even though I was only staying one night, which was kind of annoying. (Another couple was coming in the next night so they were taking over that site.) The cabin was much smaller than it seemed in the photos, but clean and outfitted well. There is a futon, main bedroom with queen size bed and bunkbeds and a loft area with 2 twin mattresses. I slept in the loft area which was actually quite comfy. There is a fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker, TV, heat and a/c! The actual "campground" is not much to look at; there are seasonal (permanent) trailers as well as a handful of tiny campsites that are literally right next to each other. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this campground but it was fine for a night. The tubing that is next to the campground is a whole different story, however (separate review). read more

We were on site 48 for 7 nights. Lovely place and people who are new owners are great. We have kayaks, great place to launch and explore river and lakes. Facilities were cleaned daily, trash picked up at site at least 2 times a day, busy weekends, but relatively quiet. Grocery shopping very close. So far our favorite place, after being on a road for 2 months through MT, ND, MINNESOTA, Wisconsin. Very high recommendations !!!!! read more

I have stayed at a multitude of campgrounds over the past 25 yrs & this one by far is the worst. The sites are small & cramped (felt like I was camping on top of the neighbors) (the seasonal campers are even more tightly packed in); roads are narrow; restroom cleaning times are posted but the staff clean whenever they feel like it (not within the posted hrs); you have to pay $.25 to shower for 6-7 min which is tacky; pump-out station is on an incline so you can't quite empty out................ A few positives: has a great selection of fishing lures in the store; if you have a small boat they have docks available at the campground; trash is picked up for you as long as it's by your post number by 3pm. read more

We were a huge fan of the campground. The managers were so nice, the prices in the store were very reasonable unlike a lot of places that rip you off because you are vacationing without anywhere else convenient to go. The river was beautiful and the sites were well kept. Although the place was sold out (and I know because there had been a cancelation just a little bit before I called for a reservation) everything was well kept up and pretty quiet. There were activities planned for the kids and plenty of great advice about where to fish and where to go in Manistee. The only complaint we had was that on the private land on the other side of the river was a bunch of loud, obnoxious campers that shot off fireworks at 3 am that sounded like cannons. When the manager asked them to be quieter they swore at him and kept it up. We left a day early because of this, but again, nothing the management could do. They did their best to resolve the issue. We will definitely go again, just request a different location if possible! read more

Stayed here last year after trying to find a last minute place to stay for salmon fishing Labor Day weekend. We arrived rather late and set up in the dark then got to bed. When we woke up we left our tent and realized how cramped the site was. We were practically on top of our neighbors and had the boat trailer parking directly behind us. Our tent is a 10x10 and tool up almost the entire lot, and backed right up into the boat trailers. The next night there were parties and fireworks until the early hours of the morning. The camp store was nice and the staff were all friendly, and the bathrooms were rather clean. It is a quarter operated shower, but that's fairly common for campgrounds. If you like to go camping for privacy and nature, scenic views and peace and quiet, this probably isn't the place for you. Overall, not awful for a last minute spot on Labor Day weekend but not my cup of tea. read more

Worse campground ever. Many sites with very drunk people using loud foul language. Little kids running around everyone's sites unsupervised. One site shot off very large fireworks at midnight. Home made "chemical bombs" let off during the night all three nights we were there. No management on site apparently. Will never go back and can't recommend to anyone. More like a big drunken party place than campground. Nice river access and boat docks. read more

I have stayed at this campground at least 25 times, while this is primarily a campground for fishermen, it does have a play area for kids, and a beach area. Plenty of places to teach your child to fish. Great ice cream cones in the store and they treat your kids as guests. I've never had an issue with the bathrooms and cleaning schedule. They do charge 25 cents for a shower, but it keeps people from taking up lots of time. Friendly staff and owners. Some of the campsites are close, but its a good place to make new friends, specially with fishing talk. It's 5 minutes to some of the best beaches in West Michigan, clean and not crowded. Historic town and worth a trip.. True about the dump station, but if you drive your tires up on a 4x6 board, you can dump easily, so bring a board with you and no problem. read more
