I used yelp to research what was around the area and digged in reviews about multiple salons. After careful consideration, i decided to give this place a try. BEST DECISION EVER MADE in terms of haircut. They are hidden deep in kensington on metropolitan ave and i was very surprised i have not heard of this salon prior to my visit! Stylist was very friendly, professional, knowledgeable and caring. They also have competitive pricing. I will continue to visit them going forward as I was more than satisfied with my visit and my haircut! :) Side Note: They dont accept credit cards. I asked if she can taper a little higher and that's when everything went bad. She chopped off everything where I can't comb over because it's too short. She started to use force to move my head around. Her tune changed. At the end she said the style I wanted didn't look good so she gave me the style of what she thought was good for me. But let me tell you, the first guy took 45 min, second guy was 75 min in and still going by the time I left. The first barber (light-skinned latino) took 45 min, worked hard and did an excellent job on an older man. Honestly, while I waited and saw him work, I wanted my cut with him. Unfortunately he left to go inside their building and was replaced by this young black haired latino. He was working on this guy who walked in with a Phil Foden cut and 75 min in, largely unchanged but with a clean trim on the sides. (There was hardly any hair on the ground ) One reason his cut was taking so long was this barber was too busy live-streaming on his phone, occasionally looking at peoples' comments. It also didn't help he was cutting at a snail's pace. It's one thing to be attentive to detail (something the first barber was good at). It's another to just go hair by hair. Bad for business, wasting peoples' time, so much that I don't feel like stopping by the actual shop. Hope the business sees this and if they do, please let me know the name of that guy. If I ever do stop by, I'd like to avoid him at all cost.

My tips: set an appointment on the square app IOS, show up early because they might get you in early, make sure your hair clean, and just relax and vibe out. Based on reviews and photos I saw on instagram, I decided that the barber Ozzy was the right fit. I was not disappointed. Upon entering, the shop was clean and very well decorated. It had a great color scheme and the music they played was great. The other barbers were in the zone taking care of their customers. I arrived a few minutes before my appointment but exactly at 6 my son was already on the chair. I showed Ozzy the way I wanted my sons hair to be done and he went to work. Ozzy took his time to perfect the look. As time went on, the smile on my son's face radiated. I could see him looking at himself through all the mirrors and his confidence skyrocketed. My son gave me a thumbs up multiple times throughout his time on the chair. Ozzy let my son pick out a bag of chips at the end which I thought was super nice! I could see that my son was comfortable. When confronted about it, he mumbled something incoherent under his breath and asked the parents to leave. And this was after him refusing to acknowledge whether or not he would even cut the hair of the minority child. It's always hard to witness racism, and it really soured the entire day for both the kids (ignorant to why it was happening) and to the parents (that did). I don't really know what else to say other than I would never patronize this place and found the behavior repulsive. All I can really do is just shake my head at the whole affair.
