There are a lot of cool bikes for sale here in the shop. I was hoping that they might tune up my two mountain bikes or buy them but they aren't taking on new work or purchases until August. That being said, I had time to speak with the owner for quite some time. He is a very personable and cool guy. helped me decide on my next trip for some deep southern blues .... Memphis and Santa Fe. I found him to be a very "real" and genuine human being. This guy understands the struggles people/ students who aren't Uber wealthy struggle with. I've been here a couple of times already for a helmet and an inner tube. The owner Tom is super friendly and helpful. It's more of a bike shop people like to stop in to say hi because of good experiences. He's been helpful getting the exact price point and quality. Don't be fooled by the size and selection. They have affordable options available and also some really super high end products. Some really amazing bikes and service. I definitely recommend stopping in and getting set up with a new ride. They have plenty of E-bikes to get up those Ithaca/Cornell hill. read more

I never post reviews but felt the need to share: I took my bike in to have work done, I use it everyday to get to work. They shop seemed good and knowledgable in bikes. I give two stars for the timeframe and customer service: Bike was brought in Friday afternoon, I was told by the mechanic it would be started/looked at over the weekend, -then I was told monday, -then I was told later in the week (his reason was "it is a long job so we need to set time aside") I called them to check when it would be done and if the parts I brought were compatible however they had not started yet, so I called a second time to see. **The man proceeded to yell at me over the phone, he repeatedly told me: that he "works 100 hour work weeks," I need to stop asking him for a timeframe I should "take the bike back now" and that I waste "10 minutes every time I call him" He was not able to give me a timeframe and told me to wait to be called when he gets to it. I was excited to work with them and have a reliable local shop, unfortunately that will be found elsewhere. read more

Highly recommend. This is a true cyclist's bike shop-I agree with one of the previous reviewers. Tom is all about customer service, and does not make any assumptions about people and what they may be looking for in a bike. He's definitely all about finding something in the right price range and the right type of machine for the person asking. He also helped me sell my former race mountain bike since I'll be looking for something with more travel in the near future. His shop is not big but he always has a good number of used bikes on consignment so don't get scared away thinking he only sells brand new bikes. Their mechanic Ian used to work in a different bike shop years ago, and is one of the most talented mechanics I've ever run into. He remembers individual quirks from my multiple bikes from like, years ago. Not kidding. He and Tom will not steer you wrong if you're just looking to get into riding a bike a little bit. Go there! Tom is a great guy and I've been going to his shop pretty much since its opened. I go in for repairs or to buy accessories or sometimes just to hang out and watch tv or talk bicycles. This is a true cyclists' bicycle shop, If they don't have what you want they will quickly get it for you at a price that is equal to or better than the best offer you will find on line. Luckily, I got a recommendation for this place - they had it completely fixed in less than 15 minutes for an amazing price. Wow!! Ever since BikeRack in Collegetown closed, there really haven't been any bike shops near Cornell/Cayuga Heights in Ithaca. I was really happy to see that a new place had opened in the Triphammer Mall. Went in on a weekday afternoon and the owner, Tom, was super happy to chat about bikes, and I ended up bringing my bike in the next day to get a tubeless setup. I had never done this before so I wanted a professional to make sure it was done correctly, and Tom did an excellent job getting everything setup. He also did it quickly - I dropped it off at 4 pm on a Thursday and it was ready to go by 9 am the next day. They sell Specialized products inside, but are more than happy to order other brands if you ask for them (they got me some Stans valve stems). Overall great place, and I'd recommend it for repairs, or just to stop by and chat about bikes. read more
