BEWARE!! IF YOU USE THIS PLACE, TAKE PHOTOS OF YOUR ITEMS BEFORE YOU LEAVE!!! I just picked up my brown leather boots after having the heels replaced. He tried to put them in a bag. When I declined the bag and asked to see the heels, he then showed me what was clearly black shoe polish on the side of one boot. He denied that it was their fault and told me that I brought them in that way. After going back and forth a few times and my strongly worded request for him to clean them, he finally did. Luckily there were 2 other customers waiting. I believe that was the only reason he acquiesced. 50-75% of the black polish was removed which is probably the best I could get from him. Had he been forthright and offered to clean them when he handed them to me, I would still be disappointed but consider it a "one off". After this, I still have my boots but he has lost all integrity. I cannot recommend them as an honest business. read more

This place is HORRIBLE!!!!!! This guy has ruined two pair of shoes. I thought the one time was a fluke. But today was terrible. And he yelled at us. We have visited Instant Shoe Repair in Marietta multiple times, but this is my first review. The owner/operator is friendly and helpful, but it can be a little difficult to understand what he is saying over the phone. He does not like for customers to become too animated, because he told me multiple times to "calm down" when I was simply trying to describe what I needed. I needed to have additional holes added to a leather belt. I brought my belt to the store, and he added 4 additional holes within minutes. I did not have to drop off the belt or return another day. We also needed to have a pair of leather shoes repaired. We left the shoes in the shop, and he told us that we could pick them up in 2 days. The shop is conveniently located to East Cobb (Marietta) or West Roswell. We would definitely recommend the store for any type of leather shoe, purse or belt repairs. read more

I visited this shoe repair shop with 7 pairs of shoe to be repaired. There was one in particular that required straps adjustment, something I had done with another pair of shoes in another state with another shoe repairman. The strap of the other shoe that I wanted adjusted, was in a similar position, so I was familiar with the process. However, this shoe repairman was asking me to do a little more than the other guy, like trying on the shoe which I thought was unnecessary. He also insisted on having a lengthy discussion about other straps on the shoes that were not going to be adjusted. I told him that I did not want those straps that he was discussing to be adjusted. He insisted on talking about them any way, so I looked toward the ceiling. He proceeded to scold me for looking toward the ceiling, telling me how things are done in America and where he is from. He even asked me my age which I thought was quite rude, and told him in America it was rude to ask a lady her age, since he seemed to be suggesting that I did not belong in America and he knew all things American, but I did not. I came to America 36 years ago to attend university and have been residing here since then. After his condescending comments, I should have walked out of the shop, but I thought sometimes rough beginnings have a good ending, so let me give this man a chance since this was my first visit to his shop. Somewhere in the discussion too, he said he was the professional so I should trust him with the repair of my shoes because he had been doing this for 50 years. Additionally, the reviews he got were good which made me consider he maybe having a bad day. I left my shoes and picked them up a week later . When I returned, he placed all my shoes on the counter, then pulled out the one with the strap adjustment. The first thing he pointed out were the straps that were NOT to be adjusted. Those straps looked quite weird to me, and I noticed glue around one of the straps. I said to him, you were not supposed to move these straps. I even pointed out the glue to him, which he ignored, but protested that he did not touch the straps. He then raised his voice at me, and I told him very sternly not to raise his voice at me. By that time another customer (a white lady) had entered the shop. The conversation about the shoes and the straps that were not to be adjusted continued. Now, instead of talking to me, he was looking at the other customer while talking to me, as though he was seeking her approval. I asked him why was he looking at the other customer while talking about my shoes when I was the one paying him. He then said I'm done explaining, I'm done explaining. I then pulled out my purse from my bag, but noticed that he had removed all my shoes from the counter. I wondered why because at no point did I say I was not going to pay him. He said pay me. I said I am not giving you my card, so let me insert the card in the machine myself, which I did and signed. I then said to him your customer service is horrible. After paying for my shoes, the man (the store owner) still refused to return them to me, but proceeded to call 911. The customer (whose approval he was seeking) said to him, but she's paid for her shoes, so give them to her. He continued his conversation with the 911 operator stating that there was a woman in his shop yelling. The operator asked him a bunch of questions including my race. He told her that I was African American ( yes, I am black). The operator then asked if a weapon was involved and he said YES. The other customer ( the white lady) then said there is no weapon involved. The operator asked the question again if there was weapon involved, and he responded again YES at which point the white lady yelled out loudly for the operator to hear "There is no weapon involved." The store owner then recanted his response and said no, there is no weapon involved. At that point, he still had not given me my shoes even though I had paid for them. I told him to give me my shoes, and the other customer said she's paid for her shoes so give them to her. He then returned my shoes, and I left the store. I did not wait around for the police to arrive. read more

The West Roswell shop is convenient to Kroger, ACE Hardware, UPS, and a Vitamins & Health shop, all in the plaza at Johnson Ferry & Shallowford. The cobbler is courteous, prompt, and friendly. The shop has lots of accessories such as leather laces, buckles, and hardware for purses and briefcases. Basic repairs like new soles or heels are done very well at a fair...not inexpensive...price. Where this cobbler disappoints is with aesthetics. He advised me how to restore the leather on my old briefcase, selling me a product that cost a lot more than I'd expected. Following the directions, my test spotst looked like I'd painted the leather. When I took it back to him, he didn't seem to understand. He repeated, "Let dry, buff, buff..." I tried to explain that the color and texture were wrong and that I felt he'd made a mistake; he seemed confused. I had to talk him into reimbursing me for the product and, while not rude, he clearly was not into good customer service mode. We gave him the benefit of the doubt and months later brought him a belt for repair. He placed numerous stitches at odd angles across the front of the belt, where they are most visible. It ruined the beauty of the belt. We'll still bring him basic repairs because he's trying hard, with basic English skills, to build his business in a new country. Doug & Jo read more

I have a couple of pairs of shoes that needed repairs and it seemed a waste to throw them out, since they were really good shoes. I saw this place when visiting other businesses in the area and decided to give it a try. I needed new soles for one pair of shoes, and another needed a little sewing. I was pleased with the quality of the work done on both. My dress shoes now look like new with the new soles, and the sewing job on the other shoe makes it look almost back to the original appearance. The store also polished the shoes up as well. The prices seemed a little high, $45 for sole and heel replacement, and $17 for the sewing, but I haven't had shoe repairs done for a while so I'm not sure what the going prices are. The name of this store is "Instant Shoe Repair" according to the Yelp listing, but I'm not sure why that name is given. The repairs aren't done while you wait. I brought my shoes in on a Thursday and they were promised to me the next Tuesday (and were completed on time). read more

I originally thought getting my shoe fixed would be a long process where I would have to drop my shoe off and come back days later, but these guys made it so easy! I went in, asked them to fix the heel of my shoe, he took it and said "okay just a minute" and brought it back to the front fixed and said "5 dollars!". That was it! Also had two leather belts repaired. These guys stitched it as opposed to just re-glue. Belts were perfectly looking so now I have brand belts fixed for $15 vs dropping $100 plus on new. His work is as good as factory recrafting and he has handled special work for me on my wife's travel bags and such. He is very helpful and gets all my business. A few weeks ago, I stopped by here because one of my slip on shoes had the side of its toe cap become separated from its welt. Since I purchased this pair of shoes only a few months prior, I was a little reluctant to throw in the towel on them and took it here to be sewn back together. I left it with them for 3 days (it was ready in 2, but I was too busy to come by that day to pick it up) and it set me back about $12. So far, it seems to be holding together, so I'm overall happy with their work. My only complaint is that their hours don't quite mesh too well with my schedule on weekdays, so I'd have to either stop here before or immediately after work in order to do business with them, which makes it inconvenient when my place of work is about a half hour drive from here, and that's about equivalent to my window of time to visit here outside of my typical schedule. read more

I have been taking my shoes here off and on for a very long time when I'm meed of a repair, and he does a great job. Recently though I took on a tote bag where one of the handles had broken off I agreed to the price thinking he was going to tear off the old netting and put on new so that o would still have padding, hard to carry items without padding... when o got there the handles had been removed and new netting material in a different color than we had agreed and no padding! Very skimpy job for the price and wrong color when I very nicely asked if he would just open up the netting and add the padding the guy starting yelling at me and saying "you said ok! " over and over I felt totally ripped off and thought he was going to go biserk even though all I did was ask The sad part is he could have done it right or made it right pretty easily and refused so I won't be returning and I'm going to have to take the bag elsewhere now to be fixed correctly! read more

I took my boots to get new soles put on them and they ended up getting polished and shined by mistake. I asked for him not to do anything to the leather because they were "well loved" and just how I want them, including paint from a legendary football game. Now they are a completely new color and look awful. The polish has settled into the cracks and the leather looks cheap and wrinkled. When I took them back to talk to the owner about it, he was incredibly disrespectful and would not admit he made a mistake. I got yelled at, cussed at, spit at, and threatened.
