Dr Mullen and his staff are a complete disaster. I spent weeks trying to communicate with his office to make an appointment. Probably called 25x to different people to make an appointment. Dr. Zielsdorf initially seemed like she would be the doctor to finally help me. I've battled with hypothyroidism, hashimotos disease and other autoimmune diseases. Our initial consultation she told me she'd work through this together. I walked out feeling optimistic, for the first time in fifteen years. I was finally going to get answers. Then, unfortunately, Dr. Z started getting greedy. Raising her rates, dropping insurance companies and sent out a letter to her patients that basics said if you're sick and cannot cough up hundreds of dollars, oh well, she didn't care. When you call her office, the support staff is less than friendly, making you feel as though you're wasting their time. If you ask, did you receive my lab results, you're told it's not their responsibility. If that wasn't enough, the support staff whines to the doctor who posts it on social media blasting her patients, that are paying thousands at this point for doctor's fees, supplements (that don't work) lab work, medications. It is a disappointing joke. Unless you have tens of thousands of dollars, she won't see you and she won't help you. read more

I brought my adult son to receive therapy in October 2017 with Dr Pinto. In our first meeting I informed her I also needed paperwork filled out to remain on my insurance. I gave her the previous state county testing results and info as well.I Met with her couple of times ( to answer any question she may have) and reminded her of the needed paperwork to be done ( he was going to age out of the insurance). He has a mental disability and needed this to remain on medical insurance. She met with my son about every 2 weeks for private sessions. I called inquiring about the paperwork several times. Met with her one. on one as well. His insurance would end on last day of February 2018. Dr Pinto left a voicemail on the last day of February stating she did not feel she could fill out the paperwork. She stated she could refer me to someone else who could do the review and paperwork. She never actually gave me a referral to see anyone. Plus now my son has no medical insurance!!! This was the whole point of these meeting with my son. You waited and wasted our time and money for 5 months. Spoke with the owners wife about the matter She stated "it was a misunderstanding and move on". This summer the social security dept needed to do a disability redetermination on my son for his social security benefits. A licensed Psy. D. Met with my son for about 30 minutes on on one. And was able to diagnose and provide a several page report. Something IPD health and Dr Pinto "could" not do over 5 months biweekly meetings!! I am assuming they care more about the money then the real health and care of the patients. IPD and Dr Pinto had 5 months to tell us " hey we "can't do this" instead of the last day of his insurance to tell us via voicemail. Please do not go here. Please think twice before going to this establishment for your mental health needs. They are only in it for the money! When my daughter had a balance on her account, they refused to see her, regardless of her mental health status and regardless of the payments I was making toward her bill. With $40 left to pay on her account, she received a letter stating that they may need to decline her as a client. I have never experienced a location who was hung up on money rather than best practice. You refuse to give my child her prescriptions, the ones you claim she requires, and then you worry about a $40 balance. Shame on this company. I love my doctor here, she is seriously amazing. However, Melissa, the front desk woman's attitude is so awful! It's as if she sees patients coming in as an "inconvenience" as it interrupts her computer games. She is openly rude to other employees in front of patients. Extremely unprofessional. She's been worth the wait and the money! My conventional Dr refused to test everything and argued would me or blew me off when I would ask specific questions. My doctor is a nice lady and is certainly very helpful and nice when you are in her presence but she must have too many clients or something because it is IMPOSSIBLE to get ahold of her to get a refill. Often have to go a week or two without my medication because the front desk never seems to relay my messages to her. Once had to call 5 times over the span of a week to set up a follow up appointment to get a refill... still was not relayed to my doctor so I drove there and went in to set it up... and what do you know , they weren't able to then either because "their system was down". I want to make sure that I am clear that Dr. Arif (my psychiatrist) is great. He listens and never dismisses my concerns. However, some of the therapists are awful and even more so, the one I saw had terrible equipment and there was like a 30 second lag between us during sessions that she said was due to "a really old laptop she should probably replace." It's pretty impossible to do therapy like that. She also freaked out and kept calling me "tipsy" because I had a glass of wine on my desk due to an earlier work happy hour that I had to attend. Even though I told her i reached for it out of habit and that I had drank less than half a glass, she kept referring to it. I saw her for three sessions and we never once discussed the reason I was there which was to deal with childhood trauma. When I called the front desk to inquire about switching to a new therapist, I was told I could only change if my current therapist gave me permission to see someone new. Obviously I just found a new therapist (who is amazing - Amy Medlin if you need one) at a new place where the phone staff is also great. The person who answered the phone was patient and listened to all my concerns and matched me with the perfect therapist for me. read more

While I've appreciated some of the care I've received at IPD, their overall systems and organization suck. When calling in a prescription, you get a voicemail where you're supposed to leave all your info, but then nobody calls you back to tell you whether or not your medication has been filled. Also sometimes they just don't do it (currently on day 5 of no meds with no way to reach my provider). Also, once they called to cancel my appointment, but never called to reschedule. This appointment was canceled day of, but when I had to cancel an appointment day of for a work emergency I was charged for it! It doesn't seem like they care about taking care of people. At first, there was less organization. respectfully all prior reviews of organization precede the change in staff and . ..organization. Totally ship shape now. The doctors are the best I've ever had in twenty years of quadruple disabilities. I am difficult. From the great dr BHOPAL, I learned new strategies while dialing down meds. Most psychiatrists are pushers who have no clue. And other docs too. Receptionist is sublime. Important if you feel uneasy, iffy, scared. Here I feel at ease and I trust them completely. Again, I'm one who is sharply critical. Especially when not well. Billing. . .this must be the toughest job. She Does have a heart. She is reasonable. However, at some point they won't carry your or my debt. Advice. Stay current or you'll lose the best doc ever, have a breakdown, etc. That's not the billing lady! She is great and right now I'm in the hole and can't go. That's how much I love and respect IPD at every level. I've learned more there than all my prior docs and psych wards and rehabs combined. I feel truly reported. All the staff. I recommend Dr. Bhopal to all. She is one of a kind. Don't be late on bills and try it. If it's not amazing, tell me. Dr Joseph Mullen is a complete joke, don't waste your time or money on this sorry excuse for a psychiatrist. I went into my appointment with relatively no expectations aside from being helped with what I had came to visit for. Not only was I offered no realistic help I was questioned and interrogated in the matter of a criminal by a stoic low energy Joseph Mullen. His solutions were to load me up with any sort of antidepressants or mood stabilizers that popped into his head. He also mentioned he's an addiction counselor and suggested I'm an addict because I said that I had drink alcohol 3 months prior... you can't make this stuff up. Really disappointed. Hopefully somebody who wants help will see this and look elsewhere because this Joseph Mullen does not care. read more

I am a patient of Dr. Sarah Zielsdorf and Roxana Calafos, who have both helped me immensely. I wish that I went to Dr. Z's practice years ago, when I first began having symptoms. Those that work there are extremely educated, and really take the time to listen to you. They are very thorough, and really incorporate teaching you about lifestyle changes (I've never had any other doctor ever address this!) My doctors are great, no complaints against them. However, the desk staff is simply awful. I was having horrible reactions to my medication that I've been on for nearly two years, and each time I'd call the front desk to schedule an appointment with my doctor they would say that I couldn't get in any sooner than I was already scheduled, and sent me to the prescription line. NEVER got a response from the prescription line after leaving a voicemail as instructed. When I eventually had to go to the emergency room due to the reactions I was having, I called again and was repeatedly sent to voicemail. I tried in the morning, afternoon, and evening multiple times without the phone ever being picked up. I left a voicemail informing them that I was in the ER and a couple days later, had a returned voicemail from a DIFFERENT DOCTOR who seemed more irritated to be dealing with me than anything. I recently had an appointment with my therapist here and she told me my doctor had been on medical leave. Why the hell was that not communicated to me when I was struggling and being forced to spend $300 at the emergency room?! I like my doctors, as I said. My doctor recommended this place to me after I shared my struggle with finding a therapist covered by my BCBS HMO plan. I was able to schedule an appointment in the first week of May. The therapist - Ingram - stated that she wanted to see me once a week but said her next earliest appointment would be May 20th because they had furloughed the therapists to 3 or 4 days per week. I understood and I agreed to May 20th. On May 20th, I realized I didn't know what time my appointment was supposed to be at. I had assumed 5pm but I had no official appointment reminder so I called the center at around 3pm to confirm my appointment. I followed the telephone prompts for "appointments" and I explained I needed to double-check the time of my appointment. The receptionist flatly said, "we don't have any appointment for you today or any other scheduled appointments." I said, "... that's weird, when I spoke to the therapist at my last appointment, we made the appointment for this day." The receptionist flatly said, "we have no appointments for you, your last appointment was on X date." There was no "I'm sorry for this mix up" or "let me help you schedule another appointment". The receptionist was very rude and indifferent. So I said, "...ok... then I guess I would like to schedule an appointment" and she said "please hold" then transferred me to some random voicemail where I left a message. Which was odd that she even transferred me because the receptionist was the person who picked up when I went through the telephone prompts for appointments! To this day, nobody from the center has called me. Not the therapist, and not whoever I left the voicemail for to make an appointment. Please, save yourself the headache and don't go here. They are clearly disorganized and worse than that they don't care at all about their patients. Next time I see my doctor, I will tell her not to recommend this place to any other patients. read more

If it weren't for the doctors, I'd never set foot in this place again. They nickel and dime you to death, the office staff/phone staff is incredibly rude and argumentative. It's super hard to actually contact a person if you have questions and they overbill for everything. I really wish my doctor would find a new practice. It's not worth it anymore. Roxana is always booked several months in advance, so when you make your first appointment they also schedule your follow up appointment. They make this follow up appt for 2 weeks later. If I had known that the bloodwork Roxana orders requires at least 10-14 days for results to get back, I would have scheduled my follow up to go over these results for 3 weeks out. Instead, I was unexpectedly told during my first appointment that I absolutely had to get this bloodwork done within the NEXT 4 DAYS (within 4 days would leave the minimum time required to get them back)...these next 4 days days were all weekdays. I have a job and can't just drop everything to fit in something like this last minute. On top of needing to get the test done in 4 days, it also had to be done fasting before 8am, which is the most popular time for bloodwork draws, so most slots everywhere were already filled. I tried to reschedule my follow up to allow myself more time, but I was told her next available appointment isn't until 2.5 months from now. My bloodwork results won't even be relevant by then. The soonest I could take off work and arrange to get these tests done was 7 days before my follow up. My follow up is now here and I have no results to bring to my appointment thanks to the way they conduct business. Oh, and you can't cancel within 24 hours without being charged-something I wouldn't have ever considered if it weren't for the uncertainty of when my results would be in. If you see Roxana or Sarah, BE AWARE that you need schedule time off work AND book an early morning slot at a blood drawing center WELL BEFORE your appointment. read more

This place is a total dump! The staff members are beyond unprofessional and the practice itself is fraudulent in its proceedings. They will do anything to collect the money and for the care, what care? I have been a patient here for a couple of months and had a multiple encounters with the staff members making rookie mistakes. Most the professionals here are prescribers and very bad one's. They would prescribe a rather dangerous medicine and would not follow up with you. Thank God I had an outside therapist, who told me to finally stop going to this place and stopped taking these meds that made me only more sicker every time and more prone to dangerous behaviors. Dr. A was my prescriber and he is clueless. He tried to put me on a different medicine every time I had a smallest changes in symptoms. I understand that most of psychiatrists make money this way, but please when does a safety kick in for you (there is obviously none here). In addition, for the last couple of visits, they have been charging me extra 50-80 dollars for therapy sssions, saying that my insurance did not cover the services. I have the most comprehensive and excellent coverage and all of my services were ALWAYS covered 100%. The answer from a billing department I received was a brief and careless one, as they said "now you have to pay". I paid more then $1000 dollars in fees within matter of a few weeks and they won't even talk to me now. The front desk in Morris is telling people that billing person is NOT in this building when in fact, she is probably hiding somewhere in the back and steeling MY and other people's money by overcharging for the services provided. What a shame! You still call yourself and pride yourself on being a great place, please! This practice is preaching about professionalism and giving their employees "great" packages, balanced life and wonderful place to work, I found out also that this was false statement as the people were leaving this practice left and right for the past few months I was there. I was tossed around between 4 different therapist within a short period of time and that's how I know this too. Also, if you read on their website, they talk about having a nine locations now. Well, if you are charging me this much on top of my excellent coverage, I am surprised you don't have a 30 locations by now. Please for those who are looking for a prescriber or therapist do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. This place is a mess, dump, fraudulent, unprofessional and WILL NOT help you. Also, if you are poor and cannot pay your bill, you will not be welcomed to this place as they will try to make you look like a difficult client. I referred my friend here, who recently lost her job, does not have a lot of money and happens to have a severe mental illness. They did not help her at all. As a patient of Dr. Zielsdorf for over 2 years, I feel obligated to reply to the negative comments posted here. First of all, Dr. Z has helped me heal in ways no other doctor could. I have suffered from hypothyroidism and Hashimotos Thyroiditis for over 20 years. Prior to seeing Dr. Z, I was barely functioning. My illness had taken over my life. Dr. Z is knowledgeable, caring, committed to her patients and her practice as one could only hope their doctor be committed. Dr. Zielsdorf spends an inordinate amount of time with patients. Insurance companies allow 10 to 15 minutes per patient. That would never be appropriate with the way Dr. Z. works! She's thorough, detailed and collects lots of facts to implement her treatments for these complicated diseases. She doesn't just prescribe a pill and say bye. So, to stay true to her theories and healing practices, Dr. Z no longer accepts new patients with insurance. Let's remember, she has to earn a living, too! She has nurse practitioners who accept insurance or you could pay out of pocket and submit the bill to your insurance on your own. Dr. Zielsdorf has literally saved my life. I can't say enough good about her or IPD. Everyone I have spoken to or worked with is kind and respectful, but, I am also kind and respectful to them. Functional medicine works to heal the entire body, as well as any particular disease. It takes both doctor and patient working together. I've had to entirely change my life to heal and will have to follow this protocol for the rest of my life. Dr. Zielsdorf is actually doing people a favor because she could accept insurance, keep to the 15 minute appointments and have people come in every week, but that isn't fair to anyone. As far as raising her rates, they rate increased about $25 per hour. She doesn't ask for "hundreds of dollars" or "oh well, she didn't care." Like any doctor, she has set fees. She is braving a new path in treating autoimmune diseases and I can't thank her enough! She has taught me to live my best life, despite the sometimes debilitating illness. AWFUL! My provider was ridiculously hard to get a hold of. If you leave a message, you'll have to follow up because they don't call back. It took me 5 times trying to get into contact with my provider before she called back. So I fired her and scheduled with another provider and was released by IPD one hour before my appointment! The provider removed 2 of my medications without notice and left me with anxiety to which no help was provided. read more

Smita Gautam has done me a disservice on more than one occasion. During our last appointment she mistook the dosage of my antidepressant medicine while spending more time on the phone with my pharmacist that with me as her patient. She then proceeded to cancel my next appointment less than three hours before the scheduled time. I requested a refill of my medication, based on the circumstances, and was told that it would be called in immediately. When I went to pick it up a week later, the pharmacist informed me that it had never been called in. I proceeded to call the office to inform them about the incident and was told a rush would be put on the request in order to satisfy the need. It's currently five days later or ten days since I depleted my supply of medication with not so much as a phone call. Shameful doctor that has done more to hurt than to help . . . read more

This is the most unprofessional and fraudulent practice I have ever come across. I made an appointment to see internist Dr. Sarah Zielsdorf for severe back pain. I waited several weeks for my appointment, and at the appointment Dr. Zielsdorf spent 60 minutes collecting my background, entering it into her computer, and telling me all about her history and beliefs. Then she announced our time was up and I would need to schedule another appointment for her to examine me and determine if she could help me. She also explained her next appointment was at least a month out. I left the office with no more information than when I went in, and still in a great deal of pain. About a month later I received a bill for the the $23.81 my insurance company didn't pay, of the $250.00 they were billed. I called the office and spoke to Mary Jane, the billing person, to explain that although they billed my insurance for a visit which was supposed to include an exam and a determination, I never received those services and felt my bill should be reduced accordingly. Mary Jane was very argumentative and said the Dr. Notes indicated I had received those services. If I want to see a copy of the Dr. Notes I need to pay them $30 for a copy. There was absolutely no one else at this office that I could speak to and discuss this, and if you review their website you will see no contact information is available for anyone other than Mary Jane. Several weeks after my phone call I received a letter stating I was no longer welcome at this practice. Today I received notice that they sent my account to a collection agency (Collection Professionals, Inc). Do NOT go anywhere near this office or Dr. Zielsdorf. read more

The appointment person says it's mandatory to schedule a second appointment two weeks after the first appointment. When I asked why, the answer was "because". I suppose one could cancel the second appointment 24-hour prior to same appointment; however, from my experience with certain doctors and their billing practices, this means they're seriously in the doctoring for $money$ far and above any other smaller reason(s) such as the suffering patient(s). Explanations for basic questions, with all due respect, are the least a provider can provide to its (potential) patient. read more

I think the way the office scheduler may need some further truing in how to handle customer relations at the Romeoville office. As for scheduling a appointment it it is difficult to make appointments in Morris. The counseling is high quality with out going down town or somewhere else. I've waited much longer in these places than here. The Dr. has a very good approach with medicating people and treat you like a valuable human being rather than a number. This office is extremely poorly run, especially the billing department. I chased them to update my insurance information, which they failed to record in the first place. They sent my bill (of less than 100 dollars) to a collections agency before making any attempts to call me. A simple phone call would have prevented all these problems. When I confronted IPD, the unapologetic woman in the billing office lied to me. She was more interested in trying to cover up her mistakes than admitting she made them. She claimed they attempted to call me after receiving partial payment from my insurance. This is a bold faced lie. My phone number is backed up by a server that records every call and can be accessed anywhere I am in the world. While the bill is valid, I had to pay it through a debt collection agency. Not only does this have potential ramifications for my credit, but is also poor business practice as it costs them to use external collection agents. It is ironic that my experience at an institution that is dedicated to mental health was so infuriating and stressful. Go elsewhere. read more
