I have been with this company for homeowners insurance for 10 years, and I'm extremely disappointed with the decline in service. The lack of attentiveness to my policy resulted in my coverage lapsing (and now hundreds of dollars more in a policy and companies not accepting us). I called at the beginning of May because my policy was set to cancel on the 14th. Since then, I have made multiple calls and left several voicemails trying to speak with my agent because I had important questions regarding the new policy. Unfortunately, I have still not received a response or been able to speak with her directly. Had to call back several times trying to find out the answer to a simple question about my new homeowner's insurance policy. The agent kept complaining about the fact that the policy was more than 60 pages long and could not "for sure" answer the question. Inept, frustrating, scam artists. If you think your insurance agent is supposed to help you out with your policy, you're wrong. As soon as they have collected your premium they don't give a damn. Customer service passes blame back to the customer and your agent refers you to their "customer service team" for all issues. I had to contact the underwriter myself because after three weeks my agent, nor the customer service team, were able to get me an answer or update on problems with my policy - problems that they told me they supposedly resolved! Not worth the time or effort. If you can avoid a policy through Insurance Express, stay FAR away! read more

Very displeased with my valid customer service experience with this company. My agent: SHELLEY TAYLOR was not helpful with my needs at all. Poor customer service and flexibility. I cannot speak to all agents but her in particular- very lackluster. Highly recommend avoiding her. Got to the point where she did not answer both phone calls and e-mails literally as my policy needs attention at the moment. Unprofessional in my book. Also not flexible in terms of communication. Phone calls are not ideal for my schedule and she was not willing to be flexible. All communication points can certainly be made via e-mail. My experience was she just wanted to hear her voice as I barely had space to express my needs via phone and felt rushed. There are more professional agents out there who are patient and attentive to client's needs. Me being first time home owner, there were admittedly some oversights and confusion on my end and that is OK. I need reliable and consistent service. I will happily take my business elsewhere. There is ZERO customer service. There are no humans to answer your calls no matter which number you call. They send you to their website for all inquiries and the chat feature is useless. I agree with most of the low reviews. This company uses tactics to get you with them at first. Then, they provide you with estimates that are triple the initial quote. They are extremely poor when it comes to returning phone calls or emails. They are your agent but they mostly favor the insurance companies. They don't have your best interest. Yep, this insurance company is pretty bad. Like others have said here, once you pay, they will never speak to you again. If you have a problem, tough luck, they won't help you. I had to renew my commercial policy and I spent over a month before the expiration trying to reach my so called agent to renew my policy. Multiple emails, phone messages etc. and nothing, no response. A week and a half before it expired, she sent me some crazy quote for almost double what i was paying before. Of course, she would not respond to any attempts on my part to discuss the renewal policy. Went to another insurance company, they had a quote for me within two days for the same coverage I had before and at a lower price than I was paying. And yes, they actually picked up the phone and dealt with me quickly and professionally. Do yourself a favor and find a more reputable insurance company than Insurance Express. Undeserved star - Do not waste your time using this agency. You'll never be able to get in contact with them, they will send you a quote based on inaccurate information because they didn't take the time to ask the questions they should know are essential to get the quote right (like how many stories is the building or if you have a burglary alarm), so after you have already signed the policy and made a commitment for a specific amount, you will keep receiving charges from the insurance company. Insurance Express will be in contact with you until you pay your premium and after that, they will completely disappear (unless they randomly call you by mistake asking for documents you sent months ago). Please understand you won't have an agent or anybody assigned to your account, there is the person hungry to get you to sign documents at the beginning, and after that, you're on your own. You are lucky to get someone in customer service after at least an hour waiting. Every time there is a new issue or a new charge, it has been WAY easier to just call the insurance directly and I immediately have someone on the phone answering my questions and giving me the right information (at least the company I am using now)....so what is the point of having this USELESS broker? And I am only talking about the second policy I got through them, the first one was a company that was on the edge of bankruptcy. They had no problem taking my money and renewing my policy on the same month they were officially going out of business. Did Insurance Express do anything to help? NO. ZERO STARS. I called Slide, I was told they can't help me, I have to go through Insurance Express. WHY??? What a nightmare, I miss St. Johns!! 1st call to Insurance Express was Thurs., 4/4 at 3:20pm, got their vmail greeting, office was closed. Um, what?? Called Friday morning, I waited for an agent for 20 minutes, finally got someone - he put me on hold for 16 minutes and never came back, I hung up. 2nd call, the wait was 30 minutes, the on hold auto message instructs you to open a browser chat. I logged into the website and opened one, waited and waited, nothing. Opened a 2nd browser, 2nd chat, nothing. Called for the 3rd time, 40 minute wait, I hung up and gave up but left the chats open. Went back to my laptop 6 hours later and neither chats were responded to. UNbelievable, thank God it wasn't an emergency, I simply wanted a quote to add a stationary camper to my Slide homeowners policy. If it were possible to give no stars, I would. Working with this company was appalling IN SO MANY WAYS: 1. They have the company structured where you get a friendly agent in the beginning who offers you a policy (or options). After this, you never hear from this person again - you get handed off to one or multiple other people and the continuity of dialogue is lost. 2. I had agreed a particular offer with the first agent, was asked by a different person if they could bind the policy. Assuming it was what I had agreed, I told the person she could go ahead. The policy put in place was with a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT company than what I agreed and with coverages that were not exactly the same! Since I had never seen or agreed this replacement policy, I insisted it be cancelled. Though they took time and multiple reminders to cancel, at least they did this. 3. The policy they put in place assumed the coverage was for a primary residence though I have in multiple emails stated that this was for a seasonal residence. If I hadn't objected to the policy and had it cancelled, any claims would have been REJECTED by the carrier as the policy was inapplicable for the property! 4. Because of the wrongful actions by Insurance Express, I now have to pay the new carrier a penalty for a delay in implementing coverage. (coverage not put immediately in place after buying the property). Their behaviour was thoroughly unprofessional and irresponsible. I would recommend using literally anyone else. read more
