I had been a Washington resident working with an agent named Heidi in the puyallup Area, who was absolutely fantastic, I had never had any issues with her and she managed to find me every saving she had accessibility to. When I moved to Hillsboro, Heidi was not licensed for Oregon, so although I stayed with Vern Fonk out of loyalty to her service, I was transferred to a different agent. A gentleman named Joel put the policy together for me, and although he seemed brand new and staggeringly inexperienced he got everything set up for me. I was told for moving to Oregon I would have to repay my initial fees, even though I was an existing client. I paid them, $300+ I wasn't anticipating on Feb 9th, but it was more convenient at the time. I set up auto pay, signed all my documentation, cancelled my Washington policy and heard nothing else.
Yesterday, while working, I receive a call from a woman in the office telling me my policy is about to be cancelled. I've never spoken to her, I thought she was a scam artist trying to get money from me over the phone. I have Joel my banking info, she wouldn't need it. She rushed off the phone promising to call me back, but never does. This morning I try calling Joel, who is too busy to speak to me. I wait about an hour and call another number on my policy expecting the actual insurer and I'm connected to a man named Robert. Apparently he's the actual broker. This man begins our conversations with excuses about how he's slammed and hasn't had time to call me but has been working on my file. Through our conversations he can't give me answers why I'm being charged more money, lies and says he only found out yesterday when I have mail from him for a cancellation dated the 20th. He can't give me a reason why after paying everything asked for I would be getting canceled 11 days after signing my contract set for March 2nd. I explained my father and I both have insurance backgrounds, just explain, don't try to manipulate the conversation. Come to find out I had been uninsured for two days under his care, rates had all changed, and I was never notified, suddenly my quote of $110 was $146 and that's just too bad. He didn't set up my auto pay, I hadn't been charged the correct amount, and he had the nerve to tell me if I wanted to cancel (because incompetent insurance broker is what I want for a policy I have for safety purposes) he's going to charge me $25 and plus however many days it takes to cancel. When I raise my voice suddenly there a possibility he can waive them.
I call State Farm who my parents go through. For an additional $20 a month I have auto, renters and life coverage. I call back to cancel and nobody is available to speak to me. Absolute nightmare. Should have his license terminated. I have never seen a company that allows anything along these lines. Shame on this entire office. Avoid at all costs. read more
