She was quick to answer questions, even outside normally business hours. She was professional, she communicated with me during the process and made everything super easy. I dont understand why my original review was removed but i wanted to wrote a review for Heloc application in this location. Moderator said i couldn't review twice now I repost my review again only for this location. They really wasting my time. The underwriters process is so slow and seems that no one working on the loan, keep calling then for update finally the assistant manager call back with some silly regulatory that no one heard, that the rental income have to be divided by half because your husband is in the tax return!! What a stupid rules that no lender ever have. Wasting my time and really not upto date with the technical loan rules. Dont go to them for loans. read more

I'm going to blame the issue I had on my age. I'm elderly and anything technical will sometimes throw me off my game. I've been with this credit union since 1990, when it was known as Telco. I never used their regular app. I use their website to do all my banking, pay bills, etc. I also had their "card guard" ... which was an app which, they recently notified me, was going away and being absorbed by their regular app. I downloaded the app. When I went to delete the card guard app, it informed me all data associated with it would be deleted. I thought this was great and deleted it. Then, my Visa card was declined. Spoke first with Phil, who informed me I should have locked or deleted my credit card off the old app before I deleted it! I think Unitus could have shared that little bit of wisdom with their customers because it was then impossible to do anything about it. We could not download the old app again. It was gone forever. Phil transferred me to "customer service" where I became extremely frustrated with the person because she did not comprehend what my problem was. I gave up, hung up and called back the original number. Reached Marla. We played around with locking and then unlocking my credit card but when my card was declined again, she advised the only thing to do was to reissue my cards. The fastest way to do this was to visit my branch ASAP. Next morning, went into the Happy Valley branch of Unitus and met a lovely gal by the name of Evinne. I hope I spelled that correctly. She issued my new cards and because I did not know how to use an ATM, she walked outside with me and showed me how. That was so very kind of her! I have never had any problems with this branch. Everyone has always been helpful and kind every time I've gone in there. I will continue to do business with them as long as I am able. Thank you Unitus! read more

Im so disappointed in Unitus. I have been with them a long time and their customer service has significantly decreased over the last few years. The Branch at Cedar Mill in Beaverton has completely lost my trust and confidence. I needed a notary document for a loan and they completely dropped the ball and then when I asked for help to fix it. They told me what to do and I went theough all these steps to find out it wasn't a solution it was just something the employee thought would work. so i spent two days running around getting a new document signed and notarized for nothing. when i told them their was no apology just met with a blank stare. And then they told me they did not know green path procedure. Then why would you tell me what I needed to do and have me run around for two days if you didnt know. I currently have my mortgage with them and will be moving it as soon as possible. It's just been one thing after another. So disappointing. read more

The service at this location is particularly outstanding. I've been a patron here for years, and am surprised that I've never written a review before. Anything you need here, from opening a savings or checking account, financing a car purchase, investigating mortgage options, etc., will be done with the utmost courtesy and efficiency. My most recent visit was because only a few of their locations are open, and they're only doing drive-through operations to enforce social distancing due to the COVID19 precautions / paranoia (depending on how you view it). Even though this is understandably going to take more time than usual (40 minutes for me to cash a check, and this is because one of the vehicles in front of me took at least 15 minutes, the rest were reasonably quick), the staff was extremely courteous and friendly. I was also very impressed to see a security guard at the door constantly smiling, even though his job seemed to be the unpleasant task of turning patrons away, to see additional staff escorting walk-up traffic to the drive-up ATMs, and personnel decked out in safety vests with "slow" and "stop" signs directing traffic and helping to prevent driving paths from becoming blocked. read more

I was very happy with Unitus for years and would even highly recommend them to family and friends. However, they let me down recently when my account was hacked and they kept all of the fraudulent charges on my account and blamed me for it. They stated that I purchased 3 tickets for events in Atlanta which I did not. They used every trick in the book to avoid covering the charges. I am very disappointed with them. I know that they will just keep doing this to members because they can. Needless to say, I am in the process of canceling all of my accounts to protect my finances. I just wonder what I would have done if even more money was stolen from me? Be very careful if you chose to bank with them. They will rip you off if the situation permits. read more

I'm not a member & after today's experience I doubt I'd ever become one.....Wells Fargo of CU's First, I called to make an appt--they don't do that. I appreciate banks that do when one doesn't have a lot of time to sit and wait. EVERYONE'S time is valuable. Second, go in & sit in the lobby. The way most banks work is the next person available asks who was waiting first and helps them. Apparently you have to wait in the teller line to reserve a spot. I realized this after two women said something after sitting down. So I go stand in another line & told the teller they should post a sign in the lobby. He said the tv monitor says to do so. Upon returning to the lobby, it takes roughly 5min for this to be shown. Again, post a sign! Third, after spelling my name to get "in line" to the first teller, what I assume I hear is my name being called. I correct/ask her and I get "Oh yeah, sure." The proper response is sorry for mispronouncing. Talk to her about opening a CD--I was referred in by a friend. I'd have to give them $10 to join, which most CU's wave that fee if you're referred in, open a primary account with a minimum balance of $5 and then I can open a CD. So it's gonna cost me $15 to make maybe $24 on a 6-mo CD with $1500 of my money?? Fuck off. Thanks for waisting my time. read more

I had a bad experience with their mortgage department. Closing was supposed to happen but because rates have dropped and they only have two final underwriters, they just decided to pick mine to not send docs over to closing. Didn't tell me in advance, nothing. The first part of the process was great, things changed over the last 1-2 weeks. I sorely regret choosing them. They are not even cheaper than other places. They say they only charge $795 but that isn't the case when you see the closing statement and it is too late. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had getting a mortgage. read more

I don't actually bank here so my review is only based on Using the shared banking services offered from this bank for my credit union I a me member of. This location is pretty quick and easy to get in and out if plus they are next to some locations I frequent quite often so I am here all of the time. The staff is courteous, ATM seems to be broken down about 20% of the time which is higher than most. A fee if 8.00 for a cashiers check seems high as well but I understand with not having an account here. I am impressed with my interactions with the staff. I would honestly rate it a 3.5 due to the ATM failures and fees but do not have that option. An update to the review previous the posted, the ATM machine is broken more often than not this location. It almost feels like a waste of time to stop in here. read more

With online banking, you rarely have to make a visit to the branch office anymore... unless your problem is with the new online banking website. I popped into the Clackamas branch to fix the things the new system broke, and found many of the tellers rocking pirate costumes. Of course they were. This isn't your mamma's stuffy bank. And while he couldn't fix what the software engineers broke, Elliot was smart, fast, and fun to deal with. He wasn't wearing costume, but he figured out a workaround and got me out the door in time for me to make it to my meeting. Thanks Elliot! read more

I come here once a month to drop off payment and every month, I leave scratching my head. I come after hours where the business is already closed. In the drive -thru I need to drop off payment and use the night drop off box however as you pull up, they always have a cone to block off the lane. This prevents you from using the proper lane use the " night drop box". So I just the middle lane, pull ahead and drive past it and then go back into the "drop box lane". Put the vehicle in reserve and adjust the car to the drop box so I can drop off my payment. Just odd. Has anyone else see this and wonder why? I would love a response. Yes, I can get out and walk around but.... I'm lazy.... Anyhow, until next month.... read more

Pros: The employees at this branch are very friendly. They're always engaging and open. Cons: - Unitus claims clients are offered a free sheet with a checking account and that you can then purchase a box, but when I asked about free checks, I was told I could order them. - This branch IS busy. But considering it's on a busy road, that's not surprising at all. - The ATM in their drive through has a habit of not working. - And speaking of not working, their site is shoddy. There is potential, but honestly I've had so much trouble just getting pages to load just to pay my bills. The security system on it isn't much of a hassle, so that's nice. - The employees at the northeastern branches in Portland can be apathetic and condescending. - My original review was on google and it was deleted. For a credit union that claims to: "takes member service very serious." and "for letting us know" about my grievances, they seem to be working very hard to keep a positive rating on google up. Other: Now, this last reason was a tipping point-the point that made me consider staying with Unitus just wasn't worth it. Little things had been stacking up, but this is what really made me stop and pause. However, this issue has a lot of cultural-bias, so I felt it unfair to put in the cons as an objective reason. - One of their employees dressed up like a Native American. For THANKGIVING. Normally I don't care if people dress up on Halloween because it's just Halloween and it's all about being something you're not. But to use my culture as a costume on Thanksgiving shows downright ignorant understanding of the suffering inflicted upon my race and how hard Native Americans today struggle to preserve their own culture after whites sought to destroy and repress it. Unitus told me they had 'addressed this internally' but I'm pretty sure all they did was 'hey no costumes' rather than explaining the ramifications of this action. read more

I was not having the best day and frustrated with a fee that was added to my account and was never told on the alternative options I had to keep that from happening. I went into the the credit union in clackamas and was very fortunate to have Heidi B. The manager who had been there for several years help me out although I was probably not the best customer to deal with I appreciate her patience and taking great care of me and actually listening to what I was going through and giving the options I could take to help my situation she not only helped me with that but come up with a plan to get out of debt faster and consolidate my debt I appreciate you Heidi you ROCK !! Also she didn't waste my time with any of the stuff that would not apply to me or was not best fitting for my situation. We need more people like you Heidi thanks !!! read more

This place is jammed pack. Went around 1:30, two tellers. And 1 personal banker on the side. Seriously the line was outside the door. It doesn't feel very clean in here either. If you need help from a personal banker you have to go to the teller to check in before you can sit down, essentially standing in line to put yourself in a line to wait some more. I recommend other branches surrounding but this one was terrible. read more

Big ups to Unitus for so many reasons, but I'll start with the simplest of the bunch: They are NOT Chase/WAMU Once WAMU (my bank for upwards of 12 years) screwed themselves into a financial wasteland with bad bets on even worse mortgage paper, Chase jumped into the fray. At the time of this occurrence I had 3 WAMU accounts and 1 credit card and 2 Chase credit cards. The WAMU CC became a Chase CC and my bank accounts experienced a similar transformation. Flash forward to today - I have NO Chase/WAMU accounts and 3 paid-off, soon-to-be-canceled Chase credit cards. Oh yeah...I now have 2 Unitus accounts and I couldn't be happier. Excellent service, interest-bearing checking and a great credit card program, of which I will avail myself once I cancel the toxic Chase cards currently in my possession - baby steps, right? Must maintain fiscal responsibility, after all...lol. They also have the little things down pat. Friendly tellers and bank personnel, a shred-box for customers to drop off their sensitive material without having to trust the recycler and a coin machine (for your coin stash at home) at no extra charge! Here's the truly messed-up thing: I was willing to give Chase a chance, but their ham-fisted handling of the shift from WAMU (not to mention their completely non-existent customer "service") made the choice to move a very easy one to decide upon (I'll spare you the details). So, THANK YOU Chase/WAMU...without your idiocy, I would NEVER have discovered Unitus! read more

I've had accounts here for the last 6 years, and I will never bank anywhere but a credit union. I think people are silly for not. Every single aspect of my account is free- no monthly fee, no minimum balance (expect $5 in savings), pretty good amount of free checks (I think about 10 at a time, but who uses them much anymore?), plus the nifty new paperless deposit ATM outside. It scans your checks and counts your cash for you. The only thing I don't like is that I get charged $1 for using an out of network ATM. So that $2.50 fee is now $3.50 :( They have a completely free Rewards program for checking accounts. 1point per 3 dollars spent on debit or 1/$1 with their credit card. I average about a gift card a year, but I'm also a collage student. I know my mom stocks up on points and gets at least 10 at Christmas time. Pretty good for being free to sign up in my opinion. read more
