Despite the intense heat we had fun and no one got sunburned. They had shade, cold water available, parking is very close so you can go sit down in your car and turn on the AC if you need to. All equipment is available to you if you need it. I brought my friend who has never even seen a gun in person. Paula and her team were so professional, she even got a one on one first. They took their time to be with her and help her. She left very capable of managing an arm if she ever needs to. She had a blast and it was another level of empowerment for her. My other friend is a great shooter. He decided to still take the safety course because we always learn something new. He had a blast too and enjoyed the experience. We will definitely be coming back because I need more practice and we all know that here in California it's difficult for me as a female to get into the range. I recommend this club and would suggest that you try checking it out at least once.

Its a nice small shop in a quiet part of town. I really appreciated how chill the atmosphere was. I think it took all of 10 minutes to get the paperwork done, and off I went. 10 days wrapped, and I went for my pickup today. Again, the shop was super chill. Took less than 10 minutes to wrap everything up. Start to finish, the process was painless. Most gun shops are typically not places I'm super comfortable at. They tend to have semi aggressive staff, customers, or both. And they also tend to be very vocal about their political affiliations. VC Armory had none of those things. That alone is going to make them my go to LGS from here on out.

I took the NRA Basic Pistol Course with Cheryl and it was amazing. I had never shot a pistol before…read moreso I was going into this class as a complete beginner. Cheryl was very engaging, funny, and informative. Most of the class consists of a classroom portion where Cheryl will inform you of important and relevant laws to be aware of when it comes to your firearm. You'd think this info would be boring but Cheryl taught the information in such an engaging way that made it easy to retain the info. The last part of the class consists of actually shooting a pistol at a nearby shooting range. My first time shooting a pistol and while it was nerve wracking at first, I felt completely safe with Cheryl! I highly recommend Cheryl and CAS & Sons Protective Group for their basic pistol class. This course teaches essential skills for verbal de-escalation, boundary setting, and physical self-defense, but what really sets it apart is how those skills are ingrained through fully-adrenalized, full-force fight scenarios. That, and the fact that the IMPACT instructors are phenomenal. I'm always impressed by their attentiveness, innovative teaching techniques, and their emphasis on students' safety during physical confrontations. Since taking the Basics course, I've successfully used verbal de-escalation tools twice in real-life situations, including during a frightening incident when a muscular man ran straight at me and blocked my path while I was walking in my neighborhood. I've also applied the skills I've learned in the workplace and most other areas of life. It may sound hyperbolic, but the class really changed how I walk through the world. If you can't commit to the full Basics course, consider taking the Intro Class. It's a great place to start. IMPACT also offers an advanced course and a "Defense Against the Armed Assailant" course for those who have completed the Basics. I took both and highly recommend!
