Never have I been happier to have missed an appointment (huge slowdown on the highway due to an accident). Thankfully, I was late enough that they had to reschedule my initial consultation. I say "thankfully" because I quickly found out that Integrated Neurology Services' billing department is entirely incompetent. When I first called to schedule my appointment, I gave them my full insurance member ID and insurance provider name, they supposedly checked my insurance info, and assured me that they accept my insurance. Turns out, they do not. If I had made it to my appointment on time, that SINGLE initial consultation would have cost $350. Completely unacceptable. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

In 2021, my primary recommended a neurology consultation. As I waited in the sitting area at Integrated Neurology Services, the admin staff were making jokes about penile dysfunction. I was shocked, but too distracted about my impending diagnosis. Unfortunately, the MD brought no comfort as she casually performed an examine and blew me away with the diagnosis of a life-long and progressive condition. She was so uncaring and dismissive. I called to set up an appointment and the guy I spoke with to schedule was rude from the first minute. I eventually hung up because he was repeatedly sarcastic, rude, and unhelpful (according to him, my three minutes of asking about availability and locations was "taking too much of his time"), and he then immediately called me back to say "F*** you" and immediately hung up. That's obviously unlawfully abusing his access to my personal information (he has access to my full name, date of birth, address, phone number, and email address). read more

This review focuses on administrative issues, not the doctors. They misspelled my last name (despite having it on multiple documents), which caused problems with the patient portal, making me fill out paperwork in the office. Despite calling multiple times, they couldn't fix it. They also messed up my phone number and email, so I didn't receive appointment updates. I requested a neurologist, but they scheduled me with an associate instead, though it worked out. They also sent me a reminder for an appointment I never scheduled, which I caught just in time to avoid a no-show fee. Every time I called to correct their errors, I was met with poor customer service and no apology. On the plus side, I got an appointment quickly (2-3 weeks) and the doctors were knowledgeable and attentive. read more

I've never seen a practice with such awful communication. I've tried multiple times calling the office after my appointment in February that my symptoms were getting worse and no one called back. I tried reaching out on the portal to message someone and that didn't work either cause I kept getting an error message. Oh and get this I was prescribed something and turns out it can make my symptoms worse based on my previous medical history which they should have taken into consideration. I would avoid this practice at all costs cause clearly they don't care. read more

It has been over two weeks since I was double charged for an appointment, and I still have not been given a refund, only to be met by arrogance, dismissiveness, and indifference by the billing department. WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE FROM THE BEGINNING TO END! I called to make an appointment to have an EEG done, and I figured I wouldn't be able to be seen until October because I can only make doctors appointments one day a week. Between my sons and my doctors appointments, October is where our next availability is. I was SO wrong! The LOVELY ERICA answered my call. She was EXCEPTIONALLY FRIENDLY! She advised me that she had an opening THE VERY NEXT DAY, WHAT?! This news was SO exciting because it was on a Saturday! I know she didn't just wave a magic wand and make an opening, just for me, BUT boy-oh'-boy was I the lucky one! I took the appointment, and it was with the VERY PROFESSIONAL and EQUALLY KIND, MR. RUSTAM! He explained EVERYTHING that was going to take place during my evaluation and explained it VERY well! Believe me when I say he's EXTREAMLY DETAILED with his verbiage, and that's SO REFRESHING when you'redealingwith your health or having medical testing! I had an EMG scheduled for Monday, 9/26, at 12:45pm in the Falls Church office. This was after waiting a month after my initial consultation visit. The morning of my appointment, I received a voice message from the office saying my appointment for this afternoon was cancelled because the doctor had to attend a funeral. I understand that theses things happen but please try to make it convenient for me to reschedule. If I had cancelled the morning of my appointment, they woul've charged me a cancellation fee. So I ​called the main number to reschedule and was told this was the Alexandria office and that there was no direct line to the Falls Church office. I waited to be transferred to the EMG technician in Falls Church where I had to leave a message and re-explain what happened. After a game of phone tag, I was able to speak to the technician from the Falls Church office and she said the next available time slot is in a month. I expressed my frustration and let her know that they cancelled on me and now I have to wait another month to reschedule? So she transferred me to the office manager, ERICA...not sure if that is the correct spelling of her name. Erica was the rudest person. She was not apologetic about the cancellation and basically said I would have to wait another month for the next available appointment. So I told her if this is how they treat their patients then I would like to get my medical records and go somewhere else where they are not too busy to care. Erica agreed to email me my medical records and then hung up on me. As of today, I still have not received my medical records. There seems to be a big problem with their telephone system or checking messages and returning calls. I believe I had issues two years ago, they made excuses. Fast fw to yesterday 12/11/19. I called, no answer, left message, and their pre recorded message was something like, " will return calls within 24 hrs, " if I remember correctly. Even so, 24 hours to get a call back from a medical doctors office? Ok, But it is now34 hours and no callback. I am going to put my life in your hands? No thank you. If I could give this Practice a 0, I would. It is impossible to get through the radio ad of all their so called services to have one's call answered. That is the main reason I'm leaving this practice. The Front Office staff in the Falls Church, VA office is lazy & untrained. Waiting room small and cramped. Exam rooms are old; despite what their "radio ad" of all their services says. The front desk staff answers the phone with a soft Hello; rather than the name of the practice. Had a really good experience with these doctors. The front desk was friendly, I got in and out on time, and the nurse/doc was very knowledgeable, friendly, smart and professional in doing the nerve test for my shoulder. It didn't hurt and they also were able to identify a triggerpoints in a muscle near the shoulder blade, and the injection they put is already working and removing the pain I had felt in my shoulder. It feels much better now. They also were able to tell me the results promptly. I recommend this place to anyone that needs neurology services! read more

I'm sad to write this review because I really like Dr. Fulton. She is an excellent neurologist. She has been my neurologist for about 4 years and is kind, knowledgable, and takes the time to really listen to form the best treatment plan for me. The reason for my 2 star review is because of the office staff who is unprofessional, rude, unhelpful. One of the reasons I switched to this practice is because they have a walk-in infusion option for migraines. At times I have required an ER visit for intense migraines and this seemed like an excellent option. Dr.Fulton explained that I can come in for infusion during an intractable migraine during regular business hours. I called to come in today and after being put on hold for 20 minutes, the receptionist was rude and told me that I could not come in because they were busy and that I can be transferred to the person that does the infusions for a call back to make an appointment. I do not need an appointment for a migraine that I have now. I left my number with the receptionist and no one ever called me back. This is the second time this has happened so I felt the need to write the review. You can't advertise emergency migraines infusions if a person can never get them. I then attempted to email Dr.Fulton, but my password to the portal would not work and the only way to reset it is to call the office. I tried to do that to avoid a bad review and I was unable to speak to a person, so here we are. Please hire new office staff, make infusion accessible, and make it easier to reset one's password. read more

A horrible experience end to end. If you are diagnosed a sleep study, i would recommend looking elsewhere. My main complaints: - Technician showed up 10 minutes late on a cold winter evening. I was waiting outside with no way to get in the building. I called every number listed for Integrated Neurology and no answer. I was about to leave when someone else from the building let me so i could wait inside - The conditions were horrible, not conducive to a restful nights sleep. Cold tile floors in the "sleep room" cheap plastic furniture , sterile bathroom with no place to put down toiletries while using it , and a technician that would simply enter the room without knocking. It was nearly impossible to relax and get any decent nights sleep, which of course was the purpose of being there. - They simply didn't follow up with results. 2 1/2 weeks after the "sleep " study, no results. I called, left 3 voicemails, finally got a call back the next day only after i threatened not to pay for the procedure. They said they faxed the results 2 weeks prior to my referring physician , however i had spoken with them and they simply said they had no record of receipt. They only faxed the results after being prompted again from my physican. The kicker is they diagnosed severe sleep apnea. If that was the case, they should have followed up that results had been received. Overall, a terrible experience during and after. I highly recommend you look elsewhere if you are reading this before you schedule a sleep study, if you want reliable results delivered with some promptness and professionalism. read more

Let me preface this by saying that I have never written a review for YELP before and--as no reviews have been written for this office as of yet--I have my doubts as to how many people it will reach. My hope is that Dr. Fishman himself reads this or--if a member of the office staff happen to see it--that he is at least made aware of it. I arrived early for my appointment to have the nerves in my left arm/hand checked. I was taken back almost immediately, which I have to admit was a pleasant surprise. The nurse ran tests, which all went smoothly, and asked me to wait for Dr. Fishman. The nurse returned moments later to tell me Dr. Fishman was in the middle of an interview, and that I would have to wait a little while. No matter. After all, I had arrived early, and the interview was most likely scheduled before I had even made my appointment. I opened up the book I had brought with me and began to read. After a fast-moving 15 minutes, Dr. Fishman arrived and finished the tests. He was congenial, asking what book I was reading, but artificially so. To be fair, this is certainly better than simply acting rude, but it did not do much for my overall feeling of comfort. That may not seem like his job, but--being someone in the people business myself (teacher)--a calming bedside manner is never a bad thing to have. Still, that's not where the rating comes from. After all, he's a busy man, and taking care of my nerves is certainly more important to him (and me) than taking care of my feelings. He concluded the tests and--in comparison to what my primary doctor had told me--the results seemed confusing, worrisome even. I asked a follow up question or two, both of which he answered. I began to ask a third, at which point he was interrupted by the nurse, and after he finished speaking with her, he began to say his goodbyes. Before he could depart, I finished my final question, to which he responded, "Let me give it to you straight. I'm here to do a test, and I've done a test. If you want to get back together for another test, come on back." Now, in his defense, he had done the test which my primary doctor had asked him to perform, and I understand that you can't speak too far beyond that. Doing that may even get him into trouble. Still, his response sounded a little to close to "I'm here to do a job" for my comfort. You're here to do a job, but you are also here for my safety. You are paid to be here, but you are here for me. You are paid because I need you. Your job is predicated upon me, the patient. At least, that's what I got from reading about the patient-physician relationship on the American Medical Association website. According to a portion of the Medical Code of Ethics found on that site, "Physicians can best contribute to" the doctor-patient relationship "by serving as their patients' advocate" and fostering their rights. And one of the patient's most notable rights is the right to "courtesy, respect, dignity, responsiveness, and timely attention to his or her needs." That's your job description, Dr. Fishman, and I'm not sure how well you performed that job today. Is Dr. Fishman a bad doctor? No. No more than a teacher who inadequately reaches all of his students in a single day is a bad teacher. But when he allows those inadequacies to foster and perpetuate day after day, when he begins blaming the students instead of himself for the lack of insight and absence of ideas, that is when he becomes a bad teacher. And so, Dr. Fishman, I ask that you do not read this as an indictment upon your performance, but rather a critique of your craft. I would happily return, and if I do, I hope this review will have served as a reminder for the power of human connection, which I suppose may be a bit more complicated than the workings of an electrical switchboard or the human neurological network. read more

I have chronic migraines and began to have intolerable pain over the past year it progressed to a constant headache. I scheduled an appointment with integrated neurology services over the phone and was able to get one at 5:30 within a week. Before your appointment, they send a text/email to do your "check-in" this form takes a full medical background so there are no annoying forms to fill out in the office. I was seen by Shikha Duwdy and my first appointment was almost 45 minutes long because of the amount of detailed work she put into treating me. She spent a long time fully explaining my options including the pros, and cons of all of them as well as side effects and practicality. During my follow up we discussed my medicine and how it was making me feel for almost 30 minutes. Migraines run in my family so my mother, sister, grandmother, and I have seen many neurologists and I find her to be the best. HIGHLY recommend her. read more

My experience with Integrated Neurological Services has been very good; Dr. Fishman has always been very friendly. He i very knowledgeable.The office staff staff is friendly and efficient. My wait times to see Dr. Fishman are usually 10 minutes or less before being put in an examination room. Once in a room, Dr. Fishman arrived within minutes.The same is true for the few times I have seen Dr. Maru. Integrated Neurological Services does employ a few nurse practitioners. I am not necessarily a fan of nurse practitioners, but I have been impressed by those that I have seen. They perform thorough exams.and they discuss their findings before consulting with the doctor regarding any treatment required and follow up. My sleep study was a good experience. I arrived a few minutes early. The entrance to the building was locked. This was not a surprise, as I had been called a day or two in advance of my study and told that the door would be locked, and I should ring the intercom at the door and a nurse would let me in. I did. She appeared very quickly and escorted me to the office. She explained the study fully and oriented me to the facility. I was given the opportunity to wash and prepare for bed prior to being connected to the equipment. A television was available in the study room. read more
