I found Sheila for my uncle whom lives in VA for help. Dr. Sheila was totally unprofessional, rude, unhelpful. All she was interested in was to keep charging my uncle's insurance. Things could've been done in one appointment she would stretch out to 3 or 4 so she could bill insurance more. She is an unethical and terrible doctor. I will be reporting her to the board. Avoid this office. Incompetent administration and a doctor who rushes you out the door while she double-books. I came to my appointment early to make sure I got all my paperwork done only to find out that they had booked another patient at the exact same time as me. This meant I had to wait way past my assigned time (even though my appointment was at the beginning of the day). When I was finally able to see the doctor, she rushed through speaking with me and barely explained what was wrong and what could be done before she ran out the door. After getting the run around with the administrative staff about setting up an offsite lab test over the next few days I decide to cancel all future appointments with this doctor and seek help elsewhere. At that point I thought my trouble with this office was over. I was wrong. The staff kept both of my appointments on record and I have now had to call twice to get them to cancel them. At this point I can't tell if incompetence reigns supreme in this office or if they like to hunt for cancellation fees. read more

After reading all of the reviews on this neurologist, I was at first extremely weary of her, but to my surprise she was extremely warm & sweet! I felt as though she showed a general concern for me, and my condition/issue. She was for sure knowledgable on my issue as far as my migraines were concerned. The only reason I did not give her a 5 star rating was because in having her phone conversations they were not AT ALL private! She spoke w/patient's aloud on the phone and her housekeepers as well in between patient's in a loud, rough manner to where I could hear her entire conversation, which I felt was unprofessional. If all you have time to read is this, then know; I wold never come back to this place. If you work hard to get health insurance and don't want to waste your time or your health insurance money-- DON'T come here. The bedside manner was terrible, the service was terrible. Overall, unless you have no other alternatives do not come here. My story: I was experiencing pain in my elbow and numbness in my hands for weeks before I finally decided to see a doctor. She tested my nerves for 2 hours. I then told her I would be out of town for the next couple of weeks and wouldn't be reachable except by phone. She then must have decided she would not have time to call me, went to her office,looked over my results for 1 minute, MAX, and shouted across the office 'you're fine'. I literally had to follow her around the office to try and get any other information on how I could keep my hand from going numb. You know..that thing called advice you expect to get from doctors. Still, she offered nothing that useful except that I should sleep with my arms glued to my sides to prevent my arm from bending. OK..I paid 35$ co pay, sat in a chair getting mini shocks for two hours...FOR THAT?? You see the rating. You've been warned. read more

Use great caution in using this practice. Doctor seems fairly nice but patients should know that her "neurology" practice is based on her own report of specialization. I've looked into it and she is not a board-certified neurologist and her license is as a generalist. I brought a CD with a head MRI for her opinion. Without trying it (even though she was on the computer when I gave it to her) she said it wouldn't be compatible with her computer and she needed to see a report. It was clear that she did not know how to read a head MRI, basic training for any neurologist. Then, I asked her based on my symptoms what some of the possibilities might be and she said she wouldn't know without an MRI report. And after I got the MRI, she never called me with results. (I got a CD from the hospital and found a trained, competent neurologist to review it with.) Lastly, realize there is no parking at her "office", no receptionist, not much of anything. A call in service answers her phone and makes her schedule, which is extremely erratic. Indeed, she has changed locations multiple times over the past few years. I strongly recommend finding a trained, board-certified neurologist. read more

Dr. Jahan is a lovely, lovely person. I could tell that she very much cared about what was going on with me and the frustration I've had with trying to get medication and resolution on my chronic migraines. That said, she was point blank with me that she will not prescribe a medication I take as a rescue med because it is a controlled substance and she does not want to lose her license due to the amount of tracking that goes along with it. It's only Percocet but due to more stringent drug laws, a medication and treatment plan that has worked for me for 20+ years is now out the door. She told me to get Botox shots even though my insurance wouldn't cover it - I don't have $1500+ to pay for that. She then suggested that I get occipital nerve blocks - I had that done in the past and not only was it expensive, it was extremely painful and did nothing to help. I asked her what my options were for pain control since she would not write for the medication I take and she said Advil, Aleve, or a muscle relaxant (which won't do anything for pain - duh!). I told her how much Advil and Aleve I was already taking with zero effect and she was mortified, saying it was too much. My response to that is if someone would provide the proper relief and the medication I know works, then there wouldn't be this problem. Her only other solution was to put me on a preventative medication (amitryptaline) and roll the dice to see if that works. I am not happy with that because I don't want to be on a medication that alters my brain chemistry. For breakthrough pain she said go the the ER, which is not a feasible solution. She also referred me to a pain management doctor so that I could get pain control medication. She did refill my one migraine medication but I told her that my insurance was going to require pre-auth before it was filled. She said that the pharmacy will just contact her and she'll do the pre-auth then. Why not do it before and not waste more time, especially when she knew I had no meds? Now I have to leave the country and suffer if I happen to get one. Wait time was about half an hour past my appointment; the rooms were full of people ahead of me (approximately 5). This made me very late for getting back to work. The 4 stars reflects Dr. Jahan and her staff. I liked them a lot, but I will not be able to return to this practice since she made it abundantly clear that the care I need will not be provided by her. read more

After visiting the office, the staff was very welcoming. Dc.Jahan welcomed me kindly and took her time seeing and listening to me. All my concerns were addressed and it was a pleasure meeting her. I will tell all my friends and family members about her. She is a women with a lot of experience and talent. You do not see many doctors like her these days, this is why I will make sure to return. read more

I took my father today to see Dr. Jahan for his back pain and tingling in his feet. I will write my experience in details and have you judging yourself. We arrived a little early to fill out the application. There were only 5 seats at the entrance (waiting room) for the patients to sit on and they were occupied except one chair where my father sat on. The place where to check in is huge and I don't know why there are no seats in there. I filled out the application standing up because there is no where to sit. I don't mind doing it because I'm a healthy person. I asked the assistants if there is a chair or a place to sit, she said no. The waiting area is very small and very hot. I opened the door to get some fresh air. I was standing up at the waiting room for over 15 min till one of the patients got called in. We waited 30 min over the appointment time then we've been called to another room to take blood pressure and temp readings. Then while waiting for over 10 min, I heard a woman yelling at someone could be the doctor or her assistants. " I've been waiting for 2 weeks and you have not done your job, all you care about is money money money". That isn't a good sign. They put us in the exam room and after few min the doctor showed up and said " I will be right back there is another patient to see, I apologize" Another 15 min waiting. She showed up and my father started to explain his pain and concerns. He asked her a question that she didn't acknowledge. She examined him and then said he needs a back brace and a nerve test, and a pain meds for his tingling. I asked her what is the treatment plan and what we can do to cure the pins and needles. The answer was to try to pain meds and hopefully he can feel better. My father has heart problems and back pain. She wrote 2 prescriptions which left on the exam table and took my MRI report and left the room, I asked her if she is going to make a copy and said yes while talking on her cell phone. She didn't schedule the nerve test and said we can come back again in 2 or 3 months. I've been to many doctors before because of my father's condition, but none of them have been so unprofessional and careless. All we got from her is a back brace and pain meds. If you have a serious condition don't waste your time and go there. This is not personal but being a doctor is a huge responsibly. read more

Dr. Jahan literally changed my life several years ago and I have been loyal to her ever since and will continue to be. She is a thorough doctor who is intelligent, humorous, and personable, and very pleasant to interact with. Better than that, I trust and appreciate her professionalism. Over the course of my treatment she has always done the medically prudent thing by ordering the right tests to rule out the obvious, and performing exams each and every time. It's obvious she stays up to date on the latest literature and developments, because I have benefited from new developments in medicine and diagnostics over the years. My wife was a patient of her for years and then Doctor Sheila abruptly shut down her Woodbridge office and didn't tell any of her patients! So we tried to get ahold of her to call in my wife perceptions and she said she wast going to wast her time doing that !! OUTRAGEOUS!! She is the most angry disrespectful and all around worst Doctor iv ever met ! She has no respect for ant of her patients! I mean to just up and close one of your locations and not tell any of tot ur patients is just wrong in its self ! But to just leave people with out a way to get there Medicine is just flat out malpractices!! This Doctor will rip you off and leave you hanging ! For all reading the rebuttal from this dr , she is a complete liar ! We have insurance! And she never faxed the pre authorization numbers , so we never got my wife's prescription! And when I asked her to fax the number she refused and said it was a wast of her time ! Just ask her Woodbridge va patients! They will tell you she up and left them hanging!! If your not of afghan descent then she wants nothing to do with you ! I opened a case with the va medical board and I'm also in the process of sueing her for medical malpractice!
