Don't go to this place.... Dr. Kane is unprofessional and incompetent at best. He wrote out 2 work release documents and they were both different and said I could do things that I actually couldn't after being in 2 car accidents within 6 months both not my fault. He said he was going to prescribe lidocaine patches "that I could put anywhere" but he never did. Told me to go on Amazon and buy a Theracane, that he just bought one for his Dad and he loves it. He sent me on my way without ever truly examining me. I left and never went back, seen another doctor who confirmed I have a bulging disc in my back and later discovered I also had a labral tear in my hip. Had he actually cared enough to examine me and be a quality doctor he would've found these things out. Now 7 months later I'm contacted by Julie the billing manager who was unprofessional and rude telling me she needs my private insurance information because my pip is exhausted and they denied the claim, I give it to her and SHE HUNG UP ON ME. I tried calling back several times and she wouldn't answer the phone. I contacted my auto insurance company that confirmed that they never sent a bill until January 15th 2025, I was seen there in July 2024. They made a mistake and now are extremely rude to me like it's my fault or something. They had plenty of time to submit it and get it paid. This place is horrible and super shady. Seek care elsewhere and save yourself from this place. read more

Kevin Kane will downplay your pain/illness and work with insurance companies behind your back to close your claim. Under his care reaching him without an appointment is impossible. Even with one he does what he wants regardless of what you tell him. Stay away from this dirty doctor. read more

I cannot say enough about Patrick Pau and the care I received at Integrated rehabilitation. Patrick Pau is the BEST physical therapist I have ever seen. He truly has healing hands. The staff is very caring and attentive and I've never had to wait for an appointment. They have a parking lot right in the front of the practice, so no long walks or hassle with parking. they offer a full range of services that has completely addressed my rather severe spine and hip injury. I started seeing Dr. Kane over 5 years ago for multiple physical health conditions that cause chronic pain. I was required to send in medical records before I could schedule an initial exam, which I really appreciated because it signaled to me that Dr. Kane was interested in focusing his efforts on helping those with legitimate physical health conditions. Dr. Kane is a very kind, soft-spoken, knowledgeable, compassionate, understanding doctor. He knows a lot about a breadth of conditions and how to treat them, and cares about helping people with chronic pain lead the best lives they can (whatever that may be). Dr. Kane has a great staff, as well. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful, and the medical staff are kind, friendly, and stay on top of everything. His nurse also has the most iron-clad memory; it's pretty amazing. Now onto the physical therapist, Patrick Pua. I have been seeing him almost weekly (I had amazing insurance) for close to 6 years. He is excellent -- so knowledgeable about all aspects of the body. I've never had a question about something related to anatomy or myofacial or joint physiology that he didn't already know. I have a connective tissue disease that causes hypermobility and he understands it so well. On top of being great at the PT stuff, he's also very friendly and compassionate, an overall nice, fun guy to chat with during my appointments. There is a newer doctor, Dr. Welch, who I have only met once, but who was also very kind and knowledgeable. She took the time to really listen to what was going on, which is always appreciated. In short (or long), Integrated Rehab is a great place filled with kind, friendly, knowledgeable staff who are adept at helping those with chronic pain conditions (as well, I'm sure, as those with acute pain conditions, but that is not something with which I have had personal experience due to my issues being chronic). read more

I feel truly blessed to have had this amazing place recommended to me from a co-worker. I suffered a shoulder injury at work and saw Dr. Kane. He listened, which many doctors don't these days and recommended physical therapy and acupuncture. Patrick Pua, one word, AWESOME! His PT skills are over the moon! Felt better after first visit with him! I was skeptical and nervous about acupuncture, but Rebecca Herrin took the time to talk with me about it and calmed my nerves. Needless to say I am now a fan. On December 9, 2013 I was organizing the storage closet at work. I was lifting and moving a lot of very heavy bins, and in the midst of this, I ruptured two discs in the lumbar and sacral regions of my spine. The next day I went to work and I got to the parking garage stairs and I went to step down the stair and I just couldn't do it. The pain in my back was excruciating and it felt like a lighting bolt was shooting down my leg! I had to file a worker's compensation claim. I went to the ER that day and they took an x-ray and gave me "a whopping dose of Tylenol." I went to my PCP and she sent me to physical therapy. The PT told me to do back arches in my bed to "squeeze the disc back into place." I never went back. Then I tried an occupational medicine doctor, thinking they were experts in these kinds of things.... By this time my pain is a 12 on a scale of 0-10. My dad has come up from another state to take care of me because I can barely walk, bathe, cook, drive, or dress myself. I can't put my own socks on. At my first visit, I quickly realize that Dr. Ploss knows very well how to navigate the L&I system, something the previous doctors failed at. She recognizes my pain, and gives me an injection of toradol, excuses me from work for a week, gives me a prescription for opiates and muscle relaxants, and diagnoses me with a lumbar strain (ugh), and sends me to physical therapy (again, ugh!). I went to physical therapy, was told to do abdominal exercises, was electrocuted, and my pain went to 15. I continued to go to Dr. Ploss in Seattle for a year. She insisted I just had strained my back and that I was depressed and that's why I was feeling pain. She released me to work. She told me to do yoga. July 2014. I have become completely disabled. I cannot work. The measly compensation from L&I does not cover the rent and I lose my house. I lose my job. I must move to Portland and live with my dad so he can take care of me. I look like a question mark when I walk. Yoga...seriously? When I get to Portland I have to find a new doctor, and that's when I found Dr. Kevin Kane, DO. By the time I had my first appointment with him, I had been to 5 different emergency rooms, getting steroids that gave me seizures, all kinds of medicines that did nothing, doctors refusing to give me opiates because of unfounded fear of addiction and laws that tie doctors hands behind their backs and prevent them from being able to manage pain in patients who legitimately need it. I was a mess when I met Dr. Kane. At my first appointment in October 2014, he properly diagnosed me with ruptured discs, insisted I needed a MRI (something I had been fighting to get for 10 months) and surgery. He told me he would take care of me through this entire process and I felt validated and reassured for the first time. He has exceptional bedside manner. Dr. Kane also has a great sense of humor. He always makes me feel comfortable. As promised, I got a MRI, validating Dr. Kane's exam, that I had 2 herniated discs and needed surgery. He found me a wonderful surgical team, and had successful surgery and I was almost completely healed in 3 days post-op. Dr. Kane got it all covered by L&I. If there was a way to give this doctor a NO star I would. I had 2 MRI's from another doctor performed after a fall on my neck and lower back which showed herniated and bulging discs. After seeing him a couple times he released me to FULL duty on the same day he injected "numbing" shots in my neck. I went back to work and within 3 1/2 hours I was back home in pain. The next day I saw him he gave me 4 "numbing" shots in my neck and one in my lower back and told me to "go back to work". I am a letter carrier. A week later I am scheduled for cortisone shots in my neck. I also went to see my primary (who doesn't do workers comp) and he said by looking at my MRI's there is no way I could have worked. read more

I began seeing Dr. Kane for my workers' compensation claim back in 2011, because he was on a panel of providers through the managed care workers' compensation insurance department. At the time he helped me get referred to acupuncture and physical therapy that proved effective in addressing my pain and symptoms related to repetitive motion injuries in my wrist, hand, and arm. Eventually we were coasting along, my symptoms were stable, in that they were neither getting better nor worse. At that point, I moved out of state and stopped receiving care, although my symptoms never abated and continued to flare up periodically. Fast forward to 6 months ago. I moved back to Portland, was having the same symptoms (which had never gone away), and contacted the workers' compensation insurance company - Empire Pacific - to find out about receiving treatment. They said I was required to see Dr. Kane to authorize treatment. So I made an appointment in October of 2015, which I regret enormously. The office staff is ridiculously difficult to get ahold of on the phone, and I received a reminder call for an appointment I cancelled, resulting in having to waste my time repeatedly calling their office. When I went in for the appointment the waiting room was packed, and they were running behind schedule, which was unfortunate since I had to take time off of work to come to the appointment. I was finally taken back to the appointment, nearly 30 minutes late. The medical assistant was great, but she was the only redeeming part of that office visit. Dr. Kane came in for 5 minutes, asked a few questions, briefly bent my wrist in different directions, and sent me on my way. He told me it seemed that my symptoms were related to the original injury and he recommended physical therapy at his clinic. Empire Pacific (the workers compensation insurance company) disagreed, denied my claim, and filed for a hearing to take me to court. They retained a lawyer, forcing me to do the same, and engage in a complicated, lengthy, confusing legal circus, including requiring me to take time off of work to be interviewed (interrogated) by an investigator. The lawyers representing Empire Pacific sent me copious amounts of paperwork, which I'm sure cost them thousands upon thousands of dollars, all to deny my claim for some PT. Included in their case was a copy of a signed statement from Dr. Kane, stating that my symptoms were unrelated to the original injury and therefore denying treatment. Dr. Kane apparently changed his opinion from the time of the appointment with me, to when the insurance company pulled their strings, and decided the symptoms were unrelated - even though the same symptoms had never gone away! Dr. Kane clearly has his interests in maintaining ties with the insurance company, rather than abiding by his medical opinion given to patients and providing care. Recently I received a voicemail from Julie in the billing department asking me to call them back. When I called the number back, some random guy answered, stated it was not Dr. Kane's office. So I called the number listed as the one the call came from - some other random guy named Chad tried to pitch me a real estate scam. So I called the number I had stored previously for Dr. Kane's office, pressed 3 for the billing department, as listed. When Julie answered I said I'd received a message from her. She explained there are 2 Julies and she is the front desk Julie, not the billing Julie. Why would I reach the front desk when I pressed 3 for the billing department? This place is a mess. They are disorganized and unprofessional. The initial end result? At that point I was stuck with a $330 medical bill for a few minutes with Dr. Kane, in which he misrepresented his opinion, mislead me, and later undermined my ability to receive care. In the meantime, I continue to be in pain and have no access to treatment. After multiple phone calls to the billing department, Tiffany kindly offered to speak with Dr. Kane. He agreed to "discount" my bill to the self-pay rate of $150. Tiffany informed me that this was kind of him since they don't usually do this unless the patient tells them up front. I was unimpressed, given that it was Dr. Kane's lack of integrity that led to the insurance company refusing to pay the claim. Being stuck with a $150 bill for NOTHING is certainly better that $330, but it's absurd that I have to pay for Dr. Kane's weakness in placating to the workers compensation insurance company's pressure to deny the link between my ongoing symptoms. The process of paying the actual bill over the phone with Tiffany went smoothly, and she was extremely polite and attentive in sending me a paper statement and receipt afterwards. I wish I'd never gone back to see Dr. Kane. I'm in pain and have been screwed out of treatment and money. Do not trust this guy to look out for your best interests or be your advocate when it comes to workers compensation claims or health insurance. read more

I have recieved many calls asking my personal over the phone opinion and answer any questions that others have with regards to Dr. Kevin Kane. I see a couple of new and negative reviews about Dr. Kane. My additional message to all of you is that Dr. Kane, provides people with a proven way to get and feel better. INTEGRATED REHABILITATION, is not a new concept. Dr. Kane and staff provide proper and proven ways to a life with lessor pain and anguish. When I came to Dr. I was very skeptical. I felt, "what can Dr. Really do for me. He can't reattach an ACL ligament, he cant take away a stenosis on my spine. What I found is that his approach will strengthen and limber my muscles around the problematic area. That he doesn't have a magic wand, but he can give you the tried and true approach to being and feeling better through proper medication and all the types of therapy that is proven to succeed. What you recieve in relief and a better life is up to you. Listen and put in the work and you will get better period. The difference between Dr. Kane and others I've worked with is that he truly cares about you. That Dr. And his entire staff will listen and are genuinely empathetic. Dr. Will do anything he can to help you be the best you can achieve. He will work with your employers, disability, your primary etc... if you go away with negativity, then you are not willing to imerse and couple yourself completely with this proven layout to a better life. I am very excited to be under the care of physical therapy at Integrated Rehabilitation. For the first time I have experienced real relief with techniques that have not been done with me before with other physical therapists. I leave my appointments feeling motivated, energized and impressed with the level of quality care. Each physical therapist has their strong points to maximize your body's own healing process. I cannot say enough to how much I appreciate their focus on me and ability to listen carefully to how I am feeling and what I am experiencing. Listening and responding appropriately is important. I came to Dr. Kane and Integrated Rehabilitation with a serious medical condition that involved damaged nerves reconnecting with muscle tissue and making that tissue fire and work again. Both Dr. Kane and the Physical Therapy department are more than competent. They have helped me far more than happened in my two week stay in the Rehabilitation Institution of Oregon and Dr. Schmeer who are only slightly above average and far below Integrated Rehabilitation and Dr. Kane. Moreover all the support staff at Integrated Rehabilitation act in a true human and humane manner...really exceptional in today's medical practices. They are the best I have found. I have been suffering with a bad back(four bulging lumbar discs) for over 16 years. As you can imagine, I have pursued therapy from many providers, both Physical therapists and D.O.s, M.D.s and acupuncturists, including Cortisone injections, platelet and prolo-therapy. The level of relief has been minimal at best.I received a referral to Dr. Kevin Kane, who gave me a thorough evaluation and referred me on to the P/T offices of Integrated Rehabilitation on Ladd Circle. I was skeptical at first until I began my evaluation with Sean, what he said made perfect sense and the plan to get me to a comfort level seemed achievable. I have just completed my fifth visit and I can honestly say that I feel better than I have for the last ten years. Sean and Greg have taken an approach, to my care, that no one before has. I am convinced that I can achieve a better state of health with the tools they are providing me.
