I am 35 yrs old and have been suffering from chronic pain in my chest and back due to years of stress and always working on my feet for 12+ years in southern CA. Words can't explain what Bob can do - which is why it's taken me four months to finally write this. I came to Bob with a chronic left upper back and neck tightness and pain. I've had it for over a decade, knowing that most of why it's chronic is emotional. Nevertheless, I didn't seek Bob for talk therapy but as he worked on my back, I could feel my emotional blockages naturally arise. I always felt supported and safe to say what I needed to say with Bob. A couple times I dozed off as he helped me lean into and release my tension. I have been going to healers of just about every type for at least 20 years now and I can confidently say that Bob has consistently been the most effective and helpful for all of my physical pains and dysfunctions. My first experience with Bob was in trying to get relief from a broken tail bone which had been plaguing me for years. I had seen countless doctors, chiropractors, acupuncturists, orthopedists, you name it... None of it helped despite many expensive and uncomfortable attempts, none except Bob that is. He has a lovely and calm demeanor which easily put me at ease and allowed me to feel safe and comfortable even with the very intimate nature of tail bone corrective work (if you know, you know!). A day or two after our first session I woke and realized I had no pain at all and I could even sit down which I hadn't been able to do without a donut in years!! My awe & gratitude for this man's healing gifts is unending. His work is slow, gentle, and highly effective. I usually experience subtle yet profound shifts for a few days following sessions with him - and amazingly the positive effects have always held for quite a long time. He has also proven very helpful in assisting me with nerve disfunction and pain over the years. Western medicine can't figure out what's going on for me but I've had fluctuating & severe peripheral nerve pain for many years interfering with both my ability to work and to enjoy life and live pain free. Bob has consistently been able to help me with these issues, even though I couldn't bring him a diagnoses nor explain why/what was actually happening. I just came home from an "emergency" visit to Bob at Integrative Manual Therapeutics. I had popped my jaw out today and it was so painful! I couldn't bite down totally. I knew this was not going to be a good Christmas week if it stayed like that. He took his time, gently released the muscle and the pain subsided.. Bob is truly incredible, and has an amazingly gentle spirit. I brought my five year old son in to work with Bob because my son was having severe emotional delay. He was still in preschool due to his outbursts and lack of self-regulation. My son had undergone a lot of trauma (birth trauma, in particular) because he had a life-threatening heart condition. He had two open-heart surgeries as an infant, and that was just the start. We were also concerned about a possible brain injury from the heart and lung machine during his surgeries. I became desperate for help as my son's behavior/rage was rather extreme, and I suddenly met Bob. My son is extremely shy, and he hugged me the whole session, but he allowed Bob to touch his head and do the work. Surprisingly, my son must have liked it because he was content to let Bob work on his head for a long time. After the session, my son was surprisingly positive and kind, which was a complete 180 to before. Bob had talked to me about what he felt during his work, and what he was able to open up for him. I was delighted with the results. Granted, his old behaviors quickly came back later that day, but it was expected. We went again the following week. Each time we have gone, my son is able to hold the positive changes longer. I do consider my son a more severe case, so the fact that only a handful of sessions have turned his life around, and our family's life, is astounding. My son only improves by leaps and bounds. Bob is able to work on all levels of the human being (spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically) all at once. It's visible and tangible healing. Bob is truly astounding with children, and I already recommend him to everyone. He is also incredible with adults. I have gone in for a session, as well as my husband and we saw amazing results, too, in just one session. His work is magic. I am impressed with Bob's gentleness and incredible articulation of subtle cranial and spine work. I am a sensitive person myself and could tell during, and after that, his approach really supports deep levels of body integration. Not only is my neck more balanced and in no pain (which is what I went to see him for), but something extraordinary has occurred that I didn't expect.....I do a lot of dream work and am currently in psychoanalysis, with a large part of the work I do in analysis being dream work, so I tend to pay attention to not only dream content but how dreams appear. And I have to say, after one session with Bob, I noticed that my dreams have been extraordinarily vivid and clear, as if they have been turned into high high definition. I attribute this to Bob's neural and brain work on my neck, brain, and spine. I can sense he provided my neurology with a profound positive shift in connections which had this unique positive effect on my cognition and neural processing. I have been seeing Bob for over a year now and am thrilled with the changes both in my pain levels and freedom to move. With multiple cervical disc issues, several concussions, and other sports related injuries I struggled with everyday pain and lack of mobility. Bob is truly a gifted healer with an extremely intuitive touch. (He's also one of the nicest people you'll meet.) Over time he has been able to address these issues and my pain levels have been greatly reduced! As well I'm slowly regaining strength and mobility which is allowing me to resume many activities.
