Steve Veedell came out to my house to test objects for lead because I have a young daughter. Toys, kitchenware, glassware, furniture, etc. He was extremely helpful, informative, and nice -- I highly recommend him. He used an XRF gun to test the lead levels, and it takes a few seconds to test each item. He offered a discount because my friend and I both live in Sugar Land and both wanted to have him do lead checks in the same afternoon. Very professional service. Most of the stuff he tested was fine (whew!!), but I've attached a picture of some of the items Steve tested & what the readings were. 0.9 and under are technically OK, and 1.0+ is unsafe. We had Integrity come to our home to perform XRF lead testing of various household objects, kitchenware, and toys. Steve was thorough and very informative, both during the initial telephone inquiry/consultation and during the actual testing appointment. We did find several items that had unsafe levels of lead, including beer glasses from some local Houston-area breweries, and some of my parents' older dishes and mugs also tested high for lead. Lead testing services are not cheap, but for us it was worth it to have the peace of mind of knowing which items are safe to let our toddler play with and drink/eat from vs. which items should be thrown out or at least not used for young children. Choose them! They're great! I didn't know any better and just went with the first guy I found on google. That guy canceled 30min prior to arrival. Lead inspections are not very common and during an option period, this is wasn't ok. I called nearly 20 companies without any luck! They either didn't do lead inspections or couldn't fit us in until the following week. WELL not these guys!! They were there 45min later from Rosenberg to Montgomery on a Saturday! I found Integrity after getting frightening results from a 3M Lead Check kit. We were hoping to repaint a bedroom in our 1920 house as a weekend DIY project, but the project came to a halt when the test results seemed to indicate the presence of lead. I e-mailed Steve on a Saturday afternoon and he was at the house the next morning (Sunday) to test for us. Steve tested the material and gave us great advice on how to handle projects in our old house moving forward. If you found this review using a 3M kit also, it's worth noting that the kit is designed to tell you whether any lead is present, not how much lead is present--the 3M kit told us lead was present, but did not tell us that it was present at a level considered safe by the EPA. Full transparency, this review is based on services provided 4 years ago and recent results we had re-tested in a lab. We recently had some material tested that this company identified as positive, that was in fact negative. Hence the need I feel this review is relevant. False positive... We paid a 'premium' (i.e. his price for an inspection was almost double the competition) based on his explanations (which we found very informative), but also included a critique of a report from a competitor (that included private info of the home the competitor inspected), questioning the competitor's health and their qualifications... Very unprofessional. We recently had the material he identified as 'positive' tested in a lab and it had a "less than minuscule" amount of lead in it (i.e. less that even normal amounts). In retrospect, we wasted our money paying for this service (and the bad-mouthing of the competition should have been a red flag). At the time, we were in a hurry and needed to make some quick decisions... In retrospect, it was not worth it. I also recall slow follow-up (I had to request the final report a couple of times before receiving and never getting a response or quote on follow-on remodeling work by the contractor). I suggest shopping around and also verifying strong results that use a lab for their testing. read more

Integrity's Steve Veedell talks a good game, comes across as very knowledgeable but follow-up with a quote or any contact is non existent. No calls to us, doesn't return calls or texts, nor does he send a quote as promised. Only empty promises. Came to our little 1936 bungalow, measured, tested for lead, marked on walls and doors, talked with us and concluded visit with promise of a quote in approx 4 days - received NOTHING after a month. We contacted him (texts and calls) 4-5 times - spoke once for approx. 1 minute but received a second empty promise. Not someone we will do business with. Moved on read more

Steve Veedell came out to my parents house to test for lead, especially since the house is an older home (built in 1940s). He and his associate did a thorough job while they were testing. It didn't take them no time at all to do the entire house. I recommend him and his company to do this sort of testing. read more

I just had the best experience with Steve Veedell and want to recommend him strongly. I asked my husband to refinish our tub this weekend and completely didn't think about the fact that our home was built in 1945 and there may be lead in the tub. After he sanded the tub and painted it, I realized I couldn't bring the baby back home without knowing whether we had just kicked up some lead dust or not! Steve had quoted some remodeling services for me before and I remembered he had tested every area of the job thoroughly for lead due to the age of my home. I called him up this morning and he was over at my home within the hour to test the tub (which tested negative for lead, thank goodness)! He didn't charge me a dime. He is a great guy to work with so if you also have a home that is older, give him a call before doing any remodeling to check for lead, especially if you have littles in the home as I do! I am so thankful that I came across this business. I needed someone to come and tell me if an antique piece of furniture had lead paint on it (it didn't) , and what I got was a true lead expert in my home to check out all possible hazards.
