Paul was our inspector. He was recommended by another inspector. He did not disappoint. He was very communicative and professional.

Overall okay. I liked the inspector: B+, Thorough inspection and competitive pricing, but home inspection took 6 hours when we were quoted 3:30 hours, and our inspector didn't really talk to us about any of the things he saw in the house, just kinda left us to dig through the report. Scheduling team: C, when there were scheduling issues when an inspector couldn't make it out, they scheduled me for the next day without telling me and said "I agreed over the phone" when I had asked if they had other times/inspectors available over the weekend and they said they'd call back over the phone to let me know, but never did (prompting me to call them after a few hours). read more

Inspector was great. The company as a whole tries to upsell you quite a bit on other products which was distracting when trying to close quickly on a house. The calls texts and emails about other services were unsolicited and unneeded. I should also add that if you're trying to get a VA loan, GreenWorks will not fill out the require NPMA-33 or state specific form for pest inspection needed to qualify for your VA loan. read more

I can't tell how bad of a experience this was for us. Both me and my wife are disabled, my wife is in a wheelchair and I have stage 4 cancer. We hired this company to protect our interest in our retirement home. It would appear as though the inspector was blind. The breaker box needed to be fixed and brought up to code. The electrical company said we were in danger of the house burning down. We found mold in the kitchen that the inspector missed. The patio was installed incorrectly to the roof causing the roof to cave in. The inspector took a picture of this and said nothing. The master bedroom shower was missing the weather strip. That was correct but what he didn't note was the entire shower glass was not leveled. Mold in kitchen $800 Roof $2000 Breaker box $4000 Shower glass $2500 I've never seen anything like this. read more

Green Works was contracted to do an inspection for a VA Loan, Greenworks was informed from the beginning that the inspection was for a VA Loan, which must include a termite inspection. Green Works did not turn in the termite inspection in the correct paperwork and when this was brought to their attention they would not cooperate to provide the termite report in a timely manner delaying the closing of the property. Furthermore, Green Works in their report used this language for a mildew spot: "Assumed Mold Growth". MOLD is a four letter word in a real estate purchase, there was no mold and they knew it but they were trying to encourage the buyer to buy extra Greenworks services for an expensive mold inspection conveniently offered by Green Works. I will not use Green Works ever again! read more

I suspect I'm having some foundation issues with my home. A buddy recommended I have a structural engineer review before committing to possibly costly repairs. I reached out to GreenWorks on Yelp and less than an hour later, I was getting an appointment set up. (Andrea is awesome) Jack, the Generalist, showed up ahead of schedule. He explained the whole process clearly. He answered every question. While he is not the engineer who will make the final report, he's super knowledgeable. I feel like I got a home inspection as well. He made me feel at ease about my potential foundation issue and gave me peace of mind about the rest of my home. I won't get the report for a few days, but I feel it was money well spent to make sure these foundation companies don't take me for a ride. read more

I called and requested their structural engineering service in an effort to generate a proper plan to repair my pier and beam foundation. Proper, meaning that I needed a plan that would, if followed by the foundation repair company, leave the house structurally sound. I was extremely surprised to discover that the "inspector" that came out to my house was NOT an engineer. All he did was take pictures and measurements. That data was then sent to a supposed engineer in Dallas, Tx. That person created a report that was absolutely meaningless. It contained no CAD drawing or design, no repair plan was generated. When I inquired as to the plan, I was pointed to paragraph 4 of my "conclusions" section of the document: "The patio slab appears to have fractured. Additionally, the columns in this area appear to be shifting excessively, and they support the roof of the primary structure. We recommend a follow up on-site review to verify the construction of the patio slab and columns footings. If they are of adequate to construction to withstand the imposed loading of underpinning, we recommend underpinning them for stabilization. If the slab and footings are not of adequate construction, consideration should be given to subgrade reinforcement installation, such as grade beams." In essence, you need a repair, and they recommend "underpinning" only if it is able to withstand the load. Breaking this down: 1--"The patio slab appears to have fractured. Additionally, the columns in this area appear to be shifting excessively, and they support the roof of the primary structure." I knew all this already, this was, in part, why they were summoned. 2--We recommend a follow up on-site review to verify the construction of the patio slab and columns footings. Ok, so although they don't give a construction plan, they want to review this construction, once completed, to ensure it was done up to some kind of standards. 3--speaking of standards, the standards are; adequate to construction, withstand the imposed loading of underpinning and use underpinning them for stabilization. No mention of how many "pilings" (the underpinning") a type of underpinning, how deep they should go, and where around the house they should be installed. So I paid $625 to tell my foundation repair company to make sure they use adequate construction and pilings that can withstand the load. read more

Maybe I should have gone with a different inspection company. I also blame myself for naively trusting this company to be acting in my interest. Their inspection missed absent sealant and worn/cracked/missing grout in the bathroom. Big gaps two feet from the floor level. I later found the sellers intentionally hid the water damage, which I confirmed from tracking down and asking the family that had rented the house and the painter who fixed it up for sale. Greenworks said they can't report what they can't see within the walls. Sure, but if there are big visible gaps in a wet area, that has to raise suspicion. I let that pass, thinking they might feel obligated to help, due to the report's big omission. I went to them for consultation on mold testing and wasn't sure if I really needed it, for any possible legal reasons. That was as useful as asking a hammer what it wants to do with a nail. $300-400 for mold testing... and it was completely useless and told me what anyone can see and I already knew, that there was a small patch of mold [which had long since been remediated]. I brought up my dissatisfaction to the company regarding both the inspection and the mold testing, and they said there is nothing they can do about it. read more

I'm visiting from out of state and needed someone to inspect a home that I made an offer on. Cedric was able to come out the next day and was very friendly and thorough of the entire inspection. We even joked that we would invite him to our backyard bbq once we got the house! He apologized for taking such a long time, but truthfully, as my first home purchase, I was extremely grateful that he was so knowledgeable on everything. 10/10 would recommend! As a previous licensed contractor I knew the importance of a good inspection and a great inspector. We were happy to get Forrest as our inspector who took his time expanding and gave us a great thorough inspection. Unfortunately due to the inspection we had learned about a couple of high issue items (foundation upheaval due to oak tree, FPE electric box, etc.) that prevented us from moving forward with the purchase. $300 well spent. I requested a home inspection for a house I was interested in purchasing. The scheduling process was fairly simple, they had availability on the day I needed, and the cost was reasonable. On the day of the inspection, the inspector was prompt and thorough! He was personable and answered my questions, and he had the inspection report back to me later that evening, although I wasn't expecting it until the next day. The report was easy to read, and as a realtor, it was easy for me to point out items of concern with the listing agent. I was impressed with the other supporting services Greenworks offered. Although I did not purchase that particular house, I will definitely be using them again! I've worked with many inspectors in Houston and Greenworks will have my business for my own home needs, for sure! read more

Pending resolution with management. I had high expectations with GreenWorks. My first impression of the inspector was very off putting. I greeted myself, brought water/snacks as I knew it would be a lengthy inspection. Notified him that I would be out of his way/ in and out of the home. But if there are major issues such as wiring, then I would like for him to show me and explain into detail as I am visual person. His response was "Not sure what you want visual wise, If I find wiring issues, I take a picture of it and I input it in the report for you to review". Who treats a customer that way? First impression was very off putting. I left him alone to do his inspection. It may depend on the inspector but I was very unsatisfied with the service I received. The inspector rushed my inspection, notified me that they could not "get onto my roof because of how high it was". (2-story townhome set up). Therefore, he used a infrared machine to scan the roof for issues and "thankfully it rained so it's obvious there is no leaks to the roof". I know personally friends and family of home inspectors, who work for company builders, etc. There should have been no excuse to not detail my roof thoroughly as it is part of the inspection (new construction or not!). I paid for the inspection for them to assist me with my home buying process and put my mind at ease. If he didn't go on the roof, that makes me wondering if he inspected my home properly. Very unsatisfactory and shocked at how my experience went. The only two major items he stated were that my dishwasher was not working and my heater was not heating. I could've tested that out myself without paying the hefty inspection I am pending an escalation with a management. **********UPDATE 10/28: Although home inspection did not turn out as planned. Upper management has resolved my issue in a quick, timely, and professional manner. The customer support and billing staff was also attentive to my issue when emailed. read more
