Out of all the LA Fitness clubs I've sweated through in my 28 years as a member, the one on 2633 N…read moreUniversity Drive in Coral Springs has the most unique design. A Spanish-style courtyard with a pool in the middle? Gorgeous. At first glance, you half expect Antonio Banderas to show up and do laps. It's a gym that looks like a resort--until you actually use it. History lesson: LA Fitness started in Southern California in 1984, exploded across the country in the '90s, and has been serving up gym memberships ever since. They've built an empire on ellipticals and broken promises. This Coral Springs location carries that proud tradition--equal parts convenience and chaos. The good news? It's convenient. It's a gym. You show up, you sweat, you leave. The rest? Well... let's just say the glory days of this place are hiding somewhere under a pile of busted cup holders. Half the machines here are held together by duct tape and prayer. The steam room? Don't bother. It's been down so long it should qualify as a historical ruin. The jacuzzi? Looks less like a relaxation zone and more like a breeding ground for Swamp Thing. It's not hydrotherapy--it's biohazard therapy. And yet, here I am--still showing up. Because at the end of the day, a gym is a gym, and you get out what you put in. The treadmill doesn't care if the cup holder is broken, it cares if you're broken. This isn't a luxury spa--it's gladiator training with slightly better lighting. You don't join LA Fitness for perfection--you join because it's there. LA Fitness Coral Springs looks good from the outside, fights you on the inside, but still gets the job done. It's convenient, it's flawed, and it's mine. Because at the end of the day, gyms don't make you fit--you do. And after 28 years, I'm just grateful to still be in the fight.

However, when it came to experience with machines and the gym amenities I was not satisfied. There was a couple of machines that were out of service. I also noticed that the steam room and jacuzzi have been out of service for more than 3 months. I feel if we have a membership we should be able to use amenities of the club. I love this gym and would like to fully enjoy everything it has to offer.

Should only have a maximum of 4 adults or children because swimming lesson is only 45mins with one swimming instructor. Overall impression: I would recommend this place if you can offer the price.

We recently visited Coral Springs Aquatic Complex to have our children evaluated for swim levels…read more Both of our girls have been taking swimming lessons at the YMCA for several years, so we wanted to see how their skills would be evaluated according to this facility's level system. It was interesting to learn that swim levels can vary quite a bit between different programs, so the assessment was helpful. The staff was polite and the pool itself looked nice. However, the registration process is extremely difficult. There are only a few groups available for preschool-age children, and we were told that people sometimes arrive as early as 5:30 AM and wait in line, and even then may not get a spot. We were also told that after the preliminary assessment, younger preschoolers can register online. We completed the assessment in September, but the earliest available registration was not until October. We had a less successful experience when we brought our older daughter for her assessment on another day. We were told that the pool was closed because of a thunderstorm in the area. What was confusing was that the weather around us was completely clear at the time. We were given a QR code to check when the lightning warning would end. It initially showed about 30 minutes, so we decided to wait. Then the estimated time was extended for another 30 minutes, and eventually we had to leave. Unfortunately, my husband ended up being late for work because of the unexpected wait. The building itself is quite old and not particularly impressive from the outside. When we visited, the facility was also surprisingly empty, although that may simply have been the time of day. Overall, the pool is good, the staff is friendly, and the assessment was useful. But finding a spot in the swim program feels much harder than it should be. With children who already have years of swimming experience, we are simply trying to find a consistent program that works for our family and surprisingly, that has turned out to be the hardest part.

However cleanliness and maintenance are unacceptable. I've been coming 5-6 days a week since January. Multiple machines have been marked "temporarily out of order" for months with no visible effort to repair them. In the locker room and shower areas the lack of sanitation is consistent and obvious. Hair left in sinks for weeks, a water bottle sitting in the handicap shower for over two weeks, a q-tip on the floor for a week, visible buildup on shower floors and walls, and blood on the floor that remained for five days. I personally observed a staff member go stall to stall with cleaning supplies yet the stalls remained visibly dirty afterward. That makes me question whether they're properly sanitizing or just spot-cleaning. There are additional maintenance problems: one shower missing a head entirely, another sprays incorrectly, and a sink that hasn't worked since January. Cleanliness in shared shower facilities isn't optional it's a health responsibility. Management needs to step up. This location could be great, but right now it feels neglected.
