It's always hard sending your kiddo to school not knowing how they will adjust - even if it's the 3rd time you've done it! So seeing them excited at school is so reassuring as a parent. My middle child just moved up to PreK with one of our favorite teachers, Ms. Nicci! My oldest had her a few different times while she was at Goddard and we are so excited to be back in her class. I was told I would receive information and a link to complete the enrollment packet online, but months have gone by without any follow-up. There is no enrollment link or clear instructions on the website, making it impossible for families to even begin the process on their own. I made numerous attempts to call, only to encounter full voicemail boxes and no response. After finally reaching someone at the front desk, I explained that I had been waiting for months and still had no way to complete the enrollment packet or know whether my son had even been placed on the waiting list. I was assured that someone would contact me and send the information, but once again, nothing happened. As a parent of a child with autism, I understand that waiting lists exist, but communication and follow-through are essential. Families seeking services for their children are already navigating enough challenges and should not have to spend months chasing basic information. The lack of communication and poor customer service throughout this process have been extremely frustrating and inconsiderate of families' time. I am sharing my experience because I believe other parents deserve to know what to expect. While the tour left me with hope, the lack of responsiveness afterward has left me questioning whether this is the right environment for my child. I sincerely hope Hope Academy improves its communication and enrollment process so that other families do not experience the same difficulties.

Toward the end, I became very upset and decided to withdraw my son before the school year even started. The reason? They made major decisions about his placement without ever consulting me. Initially, my son was placed in a higher-functioning class. He faced some challenges, but I truly believe now that those struggles weren't his fault. During the summer--after his IEP meeting--they made an executive decision to move him into a much lower-functioning class without my knowledge or input. While I have nothing but love and respect for the students in that class, it simply wasn't the right educational environment for my son, Logan. He was already falling behind when he started at Hope, and instead of collaborating with me, they assured me he'd "go at his own pace." That wasn't good enough, especially after being excluded from decisions that directly affected him. I chose to pull him out and enroll him in 8th grade at American Leadership Academy. Fast forward: he just finished his first term of 9th grade with a 3.85 GPA, taking Algebra, Biology, Dual Enrollment classes, ASL, and more. Transferring him out of Hope Academy was absolutely the right choice--he finally has a real chance to thrive.

All the teachers are kind and smiling, and they take the time to connect with both the children and the parents. It's such a warm, supportive environment. Literally everyone is so nice! Another huge factor for us was safety and peace of mind. As a parent, being able to drop off your child without worrying is everything, and this preschool makes that possible. The classroom ratios are low, the environment is always clean, the sign-in process is secure, and they're thoughtful about food and nutrition. We've also had no issues with recurring colds or back-to-back illnesses, which has been such a relief. All of that makes a big difference. We have had two scares involving our child and there was absolutely no evidence other than second and third-hand stories, what we could piece together from our child's limited vocabulary, and scratches on their skin. I've also gone in to pick up our child, to find a completely new caregiver I had never seen before taking care of the kids. In 2024 there is no reason that parents should not be able to check in on their kids virtually whenever they want to. We get a few pictures of our kid a day through the app, and we are missing thousands of little moments in their development. Enough is enough. Give parents peace of mind and the sense that we are a part of our children's day, even if we can't be there in person.

They are accomodating to parental requests - such as if you would like to substitute meals, or provide specific snacks. For example, we prefer that our son doesn't consume too much sugar (he's got enough energy as is...!), so we requested that when juice is served that it is watered down 50/50, and they have been very accomodating. He has some food sensitivities and they have substituted snacks when necessary. We enjoy having the updates on the app - we get a few photos a day of what he's doing, along with notifications of any diaper changes, what he's eating and how much, and how long and when he naps! Once in a while we get videos as well and it's so lovely to get little updates through the day. Miss Serenity and Miss Katie have been so lovely, and he looks forward to seeing them and his classmates. The socialization has been great for him. We have always had great interactions with the staff. We recommended Calvary Preschool to a friend, and they enrolled their baby and have been loving it too!

School participates in national history day which is good but problem is the teacher who runs that is very biased.Years ago when her own child was participated in these competitions ( from middle school to high school), he would win awards in almost all categories.People felt nepotism at its very best. You pay for almost all the clubs and extracurriculars.Schools playground is too small.My child dreaded music and foreign language.Kids only do singing on music and no instruments at taught all.kids only learn numbers in Spanish pretty much the entire time.

Dobson Montessori not only gave me the credits to excel at university, but more importantly, the tools and knowledge. Not only did DMS set me up to have a perfect GPA in college, DMS set me up to love it. Suzanne Woodford (the principal and director of the school) treats every student as her own and goes above and beyond each day to make sure each and every student is on track and enjoying what they're doing. I have never met a women so passionate about teaching and so generous with her time. Suzanne pushed me to follow my passions. For example, if I mentioned I wanted to open up a booth at an art festival, the next day Suzanne would have a newspaper article about upcoming festivals and emails on who to contact as well as give me advice on how to make it profitable. When I was just 12, I had a booth at 2nd Friday Art Walk, a working knowledge on how to sew full dresses, the ability to talk to working professionals in my field without feeling scared, and most importantly, someone always in my corner pushing me to be better, and that is all due to Suzanne Woodford. I understand not refunding the deposit but it's incredibly unprofessional to talk so disrespectfully and not refunding the additional money I put down really confirmed for me that they are preying on low income individuals.
