Intercontinental is an interesting blend of outdated retro style and crispness. Plush, velvety soft pink+baby blue wingback chairs and sofas decorate the concierge+lobby area with accessories and area rugs overflowing in those same colors. Along with the velvets, blues and pinks, corridors have like lacquered cherry panels, rooms have dark carpeting, curtains in the rooms are patterned and burgundy, there's a pool somewhere, a gym, the hotel's on-site rest'nt and a bar+lounge. Intercontinental also boasts a passageway past the main lobby area where if you take the elevators, will lead you down to the parking lot if you're parking your own car which costs less than valeting it. We used valet the first night, then the other 3 nights, we parked it ourselves. And there were many other folks who took advantage of having the convenience of that too. With its stunning location in Montréal, this hotel has (in my opinion) a top-notch rest'nt and also truly knows how to pamper its guests with their....... bedding. All hubs and I wanted to do on a late Christmas '24 afternoon was to slide into our tightly-tucked and perfectly-luxurious sheets in the room. The sheets are thick (but not off-putting), crisp, and white. They felt great! Staff we encountered, were pleasant and concierge services went above and beyond! Forget that this hotel's style is passé at its best, I really can't give this place less than high just because "this isn't my style". Hell, the fact that the bedding is incredibly sumptuous, our bathroom sink and shower had a wonderful flow and staff was more than accommodating, we don't mind returning. The only negative were more than a couple of crying kids here and there and parents doing diddly squat when their toddlers ran in the lobby.

The InterContinental Montreal is conveniently located near Victoria Square metro station. The metro can be accessed through underground passage to avoid cold weather. The hotel is one stop from Bell Centre or about 10 minute walk. The customer service was very good from check-in and handling a few housekeeping refill requests. The room was spacious.

I originally booked a Premium King room and since my room wasn't available at time of check-in, they gave me a Regular King on a higher floor; but, I didn't have much of a view (my room overlooked the hotel building). So, this wasn't equal to what I booked, since there's no point in being on the higher floors if you don't have the view of the port or the city. The room was clean and everything you might need was provided (shampoo, conditioner, body shampoo, q-tips, soap, towels, coffee, water). They provide room service upon your request and they respond to your requests in a timely fashion. The bed and the mattress were comfortable and I had a good night sleep. The gym, pool and wellness centre is on the 10th floor and the gym is open 24/7, but the pool is open 9-8 only which was a disappointment.

The Rothko bed. LMAO. Super comfy tho. Montréal has no water shortage, soo nice to get fresh starched sheets daily. 5/2022

Surprised that a hotel like the Intercontinental was to me far superior than my usual Marriott brand. Old school hotels are not to my liking until now. Since I was staying in the old part of Montreal, it made sense to come to the IC. I would attribute that to the fact that maybe I've been hangin with Marriott brands for 2 decades: a modern vibe was not happenin' this trip Also frequent stay benefits are not really honored with perks these days at many Marriotts, so I strayed a bit. And am glad I found another option. I also picked the IC because the Marriotts that were in the old city were more family oriented hotels and modern -- I wanted a bit of a peaceful stay. I got that here also. What's more, I am reminded of my relatives who love the IC in Asia. The hotel is in the older side but wowzah, the service and comfy linen won me over. If you're expecting the W, this ain't it. They also have an awesome restaurant with an extensive wine list. It's enough to lure me to eat here on my next stay. On my way back the concierge arranged an in-room antigen test, required by US border control on my flight back, a day prior to my departure. Most travelers had to show up early at the airport or go to make an appt in a Covid facility in downtown. Dayum. Great service. Pictures say it all. I was treated so well compared to any of my experiences with various Marriott brands. Branding was def consistent with my experience at the IC in Manila also. But then service in Asia is insane-- that's another subject. End of Yelp.

    This is the counter space.

WORST HOTEL extremely outdated. When you walk around the room you get static and get shocked with everything. The bathroom is oddly shaped and has no counter space. I came with my family we are 4 and we were on top of each other in the bathroom. This hotel is only good for a one night stay

The Intercontinental Hotel in Montreal is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The service is amazing, the breakfast is incredible, and the location is perfect. I have never had such amazing service at a hotel before. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and they go above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay. The breakfast is also amazing. They have a great selection of food, and it is all very tasty. The location of the hotel is also perfect. It is right in the heart of downtown Montreal, so you are close to all of the best restaurants, shops, and attractions. I would highly recommend the Intercontinental Hotel in Montreal to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Montreal. It is an amazing hotel with incredible service, a great breakfast, and a perfect location.

I've always stayed in Intercontinental when I visit Montreal. This is my 2nd time and it still really a nice hotel. Very strategic - 7 minutes from Notre Dame Basilica, 10 minutes from Chinatown, 15-20 minutes from the Old Port. You can stroll around, and it is connected to World Trade Centre. I really like the spacious and luxurious room. It is not as modern as other, but you can feel that you're in Old Port. If you are driving, I highly recommend to take the hotel valet for $36/night. You can go in/out which is really convenient compared to paying $25/night inside the World Trade Centre but you couldn't go in/out. The only downside during my stay was, the check-in time is at 3pm, but I haven't got my room until nearly 4:30pm. They compensate it with 2 free drink at the bar. When I checked in, my room's AC didn't work and its a connecting room, but they move us to a new room pretty quick with the same view. I really understand that during busy season it might have this kind of delay and they handle it really well. Overall, location, service, room, and cleanliness are excellent. I will recommend to my friend & family. Tips: if you are going to Old port, Use the door that pass the lobby to the World Trade Centre, it will lead you to Rue Saint-Jacques. I find it faster to go to Notre-Dame Basilica.

View from Reception. Lots of cozy seating areas done in velvet. Overlooking the courtyard.

Spotless, cozy velvet upholstered lounge. The lady checking me in apologized for taking so long but she wanted to get me a nice room which was so sweet. I think she upgraded me because it was a nicer room than my cousin got two hours later - and we booked together at the same rate. Covid protocols are a minimally stocked room. Call for anything extra desired, but they won't overstock and waste. If cleaning is required then they are happy to do so, but it could take up to three hours after calling to let them know. My room was spotless and I had what I needed. I prefer no cleaning as fewer toxic cleaning products. :) I could not figure out how to check out on the tv - I don't think you can. No bill under the door or in my email to keep it quick either. Checkout in person was lengthy so don't leave it too late.

We had a great stay here with our dog recently, the location of the hotel is great, with lots of sites a convenient walk from the hotel (old town, St Paul St, Notre Dame, the waterfront piers, Chinatown). In terms of the hotel itself, the public areas were nicer and more updated than the rooms, but the rooms were comfortable enough. I liked that our room had a separate bathtub and shower. All of the staff in the hotel were so nice and really went out of their way to make us feel welcome, which is much appreciated when you are traveling with a dog. Montreal is a pretty inhospitable town when it comes to taking your dog with you places, so it was nice to always feel welcome on hotel grounds. We had room service for dinner one night and heartily recommend the Salmon (ask for extra mashed potatoes). The one drawback to this property is it is in a very large complex, so getting to the garage (this involves using two different banks of elevators in an annex building) and even just the street is a bit of a hassle.

On the positive side, the space is stunning and the food was excellent - both were highlights for us. However, our experience on the planning side raised several concerns. Communication and expectations were unclear from the outset. We initially believed we would be working with one team member, but later learned that a different person would be managing our wedding, which was not clearly communicated and created confusion early on. Throughout the process, we found the planner's approach to be rigid and not particularly collaborative. We were open to guidance, but often felt that our preferences were dismissed in favor of doing things a specific way. During our tasting, for example, some of our menu selections (chosen directly from the venue's own offerings) were criticized as not being "classy" or "elegant," which felt inappropriate and unnecessarily condescending. There were also multiple instances that felt unprofessional, including meetings starting late and recurring interruptions during scheduled time together. We also encountered a significant issue regarding payment transparency for a vendor booked through the venue. A deposit we paid was invoiced as a payment toward the band, but was not fully applied as such, and this was not disclosed at the time of payment. The matter was only resolved after escalation. While it is clear that the team is capable of executing events, our experience did not reflect the level of professionalism, transparency, or care that is essential when planning a wedding. A wedding is not just another event, and the planning process requires a level of respect, communication, and client focus that we did not consistently experience here. Due to these concerns, we ultimately chose to move forward with a different venue, as we did not feel confident continuing with the planning process. Based on our experience, we would not recommend this venue for weddings. Couples should proceed with caution and ensure they have a clear, documented understanding of vendor payments, responsibilities, and expectations before committing!

The purpose of this review is by all means to rave about Clandestino. Very chill vibe, the space is small, tiny bar counter and some sofas, where if you are lucky you can sit with a big group of friends and enjoy some drinks. Since Clandestino seems to serve as an overflow bar for Boho sometimes there are to many people just coming in and standing in the tiny opened space next to the bar. Be determined and jump on the first available seat if you'd like to hang in there longer. Clandestino has a ginourmous list of mescals and tequilas. We did rely on the recommendation of the bar tender for the first round and fortunately we kept the receipt so we know what were the amazing smoky mescals we ended up trying. The cocktail list is so attractive that no doubt we had to try the mixes, tequila end mescal can be substituted upon request, but in general I like to stick to the original liquor choice of the mixologist. Don Solares and El Matador were perfect choices, where the El Matador certainly wins the competition. All the drinks are served in a fancy way, the tequilas and mescals are accompanied by fruits that will enhance the flavors. I loved the choice of music and the lights, very cozy space that could be also perfect for a more intimate encounter.

"The drummers and jugglers in Montreal Don't even exist at…read moreall" (Rufus Wainwright) One of Nelligan's greatest attributes is its location. This grand hotel is squarely located between the Old Port and Old Montreal neighborhoods, so you literally have hundreds of cool places to visit or dine at within minutes. The Nelligan is an old hotel in an old city, so if you're expecting something like a Marriott in a suburban location, you'll be greatly disappointed. In the mid 1800's, the current Nelligan hotel was once four separate historic buildings that over the years contained a warehouse, grocery store, paper company and pharmaceutical store. In 2002, these various structures were rebuilt, refined, updated, and joined together to launch the new Hotel Nelligan. Walking around the hotel and trying to find your room number can be adventurous because we encountered numerous small staircases in the corridors. To go from our room to the elevator, we had to go up one small staircase, make a few lefts and rights in a hallway, and then down a second small staircase to the hallway with the elevators. And since I mentioned the subject of room numbers, that turned out to be a real thorny issue, because on check-in day, the signs directing us to room 323 brought us nowhere near room 323. The signs were wrong. We found a chambermaid who told us "the signs are wrong" and escorted us on a long circuitous walk to our room. The next day printed "corrections" to the room number signs had been tacked up. Another issue we encountered (although it sure wasn't the hotel's fault) was the construction on St. Paul West that effectively closed the street and vehicle access to the hotel. The street was totally torn up from curb to curb by heavy equipment and there were plywood walls defining the very narrow sidewalks up and down lower St. Paul West including the hotel entrances. There were also plywood sheets atop the torn-up sidewalks. Walking down the narrow sidewalk with suitcases was nearly impossible. When we drove up to check in, of course the street was closed, but there are some very helpful valets who have cones and markers set up on the corner of St. Paul and St. Sulpice. They were fantastic and let us park there while we walked to the hotel with our luggage and checked in with the front desk and the hotel valet station. Truth is, every hotel employee we interacted with was FIVE STAR FANTASTIC to deal with. Our room was pretty big with a cool stone wall. The satellite reception and WIFI worked well, the bed was comfy, and the big bathroom was great, with a huge rainfall shower and good pressure and temperature. So, as long as you can anticipate the traffic and access problems, and take everything else with a grain of salt, you can really enjoy your stay here at a very cool old-school hotel..
