The hardware we received was not what we selected, and instead of taking ownership of the mistake, they positioned it as though it were our decision. Their proposed solution was simply to provide the hardware we originally chose -- but they refused to address the damage caused to our closet as a result of the incorrect hardware being installed. Jann is quick to initiate projects without meaningful discussion of budget expectations or realistic ballpark figures. We were told "it will be around X thousand for now," only to later receive contracts totaling tens of thousands more. There was no proactive financial transparency. Marissa did not acknowledge or apologize for the issues we encountered, which added to the frustration. When you are making a significant investment in your home, you expect professionalism, communication, and integrity. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. Buyer beware -- we highly recommend looking elsewhere.

I liked the fact that my payment through Showplace covered the general contractor, tile contractor , paint, floor, cabinets and stone countertops. I felt i had recourse if one of the contractors didn't do their best. Her design acumen was amazing. Tremendous use of space, excellent tradesmen, and Jann's keen eye to ensure that all trades did their best. If it was not, she made sure they did. There were a few calls to contractors to come back and fix or repair. There were a few delays, but these things happen in real life. With any project with lots of moving parts, there are unforeseen problems, or delays.. Factory delays, shipping mistakes, ordering mistakes.... It happens. If you combine these delays with changes we made along the way, deadlines are pushed out.... In the end, the product turned out amazing. Our project was quite large. Removal of a load bearing wall, moving of extensive plumbing and electrical and structural work. Combining of two rooms into 1 large kitchen..... It was several months of work, but the final product is worthy of a magazine. Truly amazing. (In fact we have been asked to have our kitchen be featured in a design magazine photo shoot. ). We gave her a list of wants and needs and we had several renditions of changes to get what we wanted. It was not the cheapest nor the most expensive. The end goal was to deliver a dream kitchen. Goal Attained. The final litmus test Jann used was: " Will this add value to your house" if it was too bold, she would tell you it was not a good choice. ( This was confirmed by a few realtor friends of our) Her contractor Tom Echols is a master carpenter with amazing talent. All permits were passed with ease and the work quality and joinery is top notch. I helped with some of the heavy work, and I could see that he is very thorough. Structural, Electrical and Mechanical , Finish Carpentry.. No Problem.... Jann has a strong personality, she knows her stuff and is not afraid to tell you., she challenged us several times on what we should do vs what we thought we should do. I often pushed back but l I hate to say it, but she was right, everything turned out AMAZING in the truest sense of the word.. I am not a designer, she is. Jann is a high energy dynamo, but she knows her stuff. Our project added 2-3 times cost of the project in home appreciation value.

B&G were very flexible in scheduling both the measuring appointment and the installation appointment, which I especially appreciated with my busy schedule. There was one point in the fabrication process where Mel called me to inform me that my countertops were actually going to require the use of two slabs of stone, which was different from the original quote. She worked with me to make adjustments to the size of my kitchen island so that we were able to keep our materials and costs at just one slab - which made a huge difference! In the end, we think the island turned out even better with the slightly smaller dimensions. The countertops were installed flawlessly, and they even managed to keep our longest countertop to one piece with no seam! We have an older home with some definite challenges, and they navigated those challenges extremely well. We are beyond thrilled with our new countertops and would highly recommend Bath and Granite!

I can't begin to express how satisfied we are with Mountain Man! This newer company boasts an…read moreowner/operator and skilled tradesman with over 20 years of experience. Our home has 1000 square feet of a combination of 40 year old white oak, and the original 65 yo white oak floors. They had not been refinished in at least 25 years and were in poor condition. Dave and Shannon came out, checked out the floor, and had great recommendations for repair of bad areas, refinishing, transitions, stains, burns and wear down to the wood (yes we had all of those....). We didn't get a stain, because the wood looked so good after they were done, literally like a brand new floor!! They replaced a few boards that were under old transitions and couldn't be saved. They filled hundreds of old nail holes from original carpeting and metal edging that was removed, then added 30 feet of solid oak transition strips at the kitchen, and several room edges. They feathered one transition area onto the hardwood of another room that had an existing good finish, and even matched the aged finish of the other floor! Mountain man was ontime! They showed up when promised, did what they promised and more, completed everything on schedule and even helped move some furniture (this wouldve been an add-on cost with other companies). Best of all, I had the owner ONSITE, they were the BEST BID, better customer service and easier to work with than any other contracted service that I've had during the reno of our 3500 sf house!

Our home builder, Redeux Developments, used Kitchen & Floor Concepts for our countertops and floors…read morethroughout our new build. We heard from other Redeux customers that they could have done better on hardwood floors. Our experience aligns with this as our floors have multiple unaddressed squeaky spots. We had multiple sinks that were not fully caulked when installed. Thankfully, Geno, the owner, came out to fix them. During our countertop installs, I had three vanity countertops that were fabricated and installed backward. Two were fixed shortly after installation, but one still needs to be fixed. Geno confirmed the remaining countertop to be backward when fixing the shoddy caulking job. Finally, during the fabrication of one kitchen countertop, the cutout for our cooktop is not square on the countertop, so it sits at an angle.

Do not waste your time or money with this unreliable design team!!!!…read more We spent 10 weeks working mainly with Toni's partner, Alex, to get a precise plan for a laundry room/bathroom remodel all with the promise of great contractors and ease of project management. After all this time we have a design that cost thousands. We have a drawing of the space and not one recommendation for a reliable contractor, and no recommendations for tile, cabinets, doors, any finishes at all. We spent thousands for a plan that contractors say is too detailed, unnecessary and confusing. The entire time both Toni and Alex insisted they had reliable contractors that they regularly worked with which we had been having difficulty finding. Alex insisted on coming out to our house to measure and remeasure at least three different times so we would have completely accurate plans to share with their contractors to get us the best and most accurate bids. Alex never took notes when he would meet with us, despite our requesting that he take notes because he was NOT getting our ideas or requested changes down accurately. We asked that he take notes so that he would get our requests correct the first time we made them. Instead he went back multiple times to make corrections for his lack of completing plans the way we had originally requested they be made (if he took notes this might not happen). He would regularly have to make additional corrections because he didn't do what we had originally asked...this was all at a cost to us. When he finally brought in a contractor that was supposed to give us a very accurate bid based on the very detailed plans Alex charged us thousands to create, the contractor said he didn't even give estimates or bids, he just charged for whatever time was spent and gave receipts to the client for any materials purchased. Oh and he couldn't give us a timeline for work, he would just be working us in on Saturdays. Are you kidding me?! What had we wasted all this time and money on, if Alex doesn't even have reliable contractors that need his ridiculously detailed plans? In the meantime, Toni was supposedly looking into finishes according to Alex, which we never saw. By the time we cut our losses and ended working with Alex & Toni, we had never received any finishing design help. The two minor finishes they looked into and information they did share was for a glass shower door (that apparently took 30 minutes to send an email for a quote) and a bathtub that took 35 minutes to discuss with no quote attached and the mount requested was wrong (undermount when it was supposed to be overmount) - I know, shocking, another example of not taking notes and remembering incorrectly. In addition to our overall disappointment with working with Alex and Toni, they also have some annoying logistical challenges to overcome in this digital age. They have no way to take electronic payments (no credit card payment, no Venmo - checks only), they do not utilize email nor text as an efficient mode of communicating with clients and Alex talks way too much when you do have a phone call or in person meeting with him and doesn't listen nor take notes, causing your bill to increase and you to make little progress on the project. We had multiple conversations to try to get on the same page with communication and electronic communication being our preferred method as we both work but it never improved. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE! We have been working with a new designer that has given us ideas on finishes in one day and made changes to the design we received from Alex to make it easier for the contractor to use.

We first hired Toni Palmer Designs in 2007 to renovate the entire first floor of our 20-year-old home, taking it from cold and blah to warm and welcoming. Once we agreed on the design and budget, they guided us through product selection and coordinated all of the contractors. We came home from vacation to a completed project, which looks as timeless today as it did 10 years ago. Last year, we used TPD to renovate two bathrooms. Although it was a smaller project, we experienced the same great level of service and attention to detail.
