Interlude is awesome. It is a full service salon and spa-they even brand their own cosmetics. I am not a loyal client, but if it makes you feel better I am not loyal to anyone else either. They are open every day and it is by appointment only. I was a bit nervous at first, when I pulled up to a huge two family building, smack dab in the middle of a neighborhood. I read online at one of the local TV's station voters choice sections, that Interlude was voted best wax. I came here for a brow wax and manicure. There were tons of fabrics draped everywhere -it was very cool and hip looking and seemed peaceful. Wait...what's that?? Oh...no kids are allowed. No really. No kids are allowed. Sweet!!!! I got the creative spa manicure. For only $25-holy shit, it was MARVELOUS. This place ranks up there with Mae's and Wet Paint nail salon.....I was nervous that I would miss out on enjoying such a nice treat, since I got bloody hammered the night before. For some reason beyond my comprehension, I made my appt. for the morning. Huh? I can even drag my ass out of bed before 10 AM on my days off. Regardless of my lazy hungover ass, the employees must have had a treat that day with my arrival, I experienced one of the best manicures eva! It was just what I needed. You start off with a melon soak and than they use AHA crystals on your hand to soften while gloves are put on. Than they put ton lotion and a hot towel and finally give a nice long massage. Heaven!!! I lied down and my brows were done in 10 minutes. They were perfect. Wax and tweezers and my unkempt brows were a thing of the past. It cost $17 and they use beeswax-it promises not to pull at your skin....it was painless, but stuff like that never bothers me. I still think I will go wherever is closest to get my brows done, but I think if you are close by this would be a good choice. It might not be convenient since they are appt only. The only thing that would have pushed this to a five star experience was if they served malmosa's or just champagne and if Interlude was a few minutes closer to myself. Yet, I just might deal with driving a few extra minutes. But be forewarned....I salon hop, so I always am trying new ones! read more

Kim did such a great job with my hair! After the last salon messed up my hair, I decided to give Interlude Salon a shot and Kim definitely nailed it! My hair had 3 different colors which were from black roots, an ugly orange layer to an extremely light blonde. Kim fixed my problem and she even made my hair look better than ever! Michelle saved my eyebrows today. There aren't enough words to praise a person who is an artist in their craft. She works with the most tender love and care for your eyebrows. This is my first time but I am highly impressed to be converted back to waxing. I normally get them threaded but boy do some people elsewhere royally screwed my eyebrows before. I suggest making an appointment and thank your lucky stars she will take you. So be mindful that it's 23 dollars but worth it when someone knows what they are doing. read more

This place is amazing. I've been a customer here for a couple of years after stumbling on it because a friend gave me a spawish gift certificate. I'm SO glad she did that! I LOVE the staff here - they are incredibly professional and super nice. They never have that stuck up attitude that you get at a lot of other spas. (You know what I mean, where they make you feel like you should be honored to be overcharged for paying them for their services. You won't get that b.s. here!) The treatments are all awesome and an incredible value- their prices are really reasonable. I've gotten lots of treatments here myself (facials, a massage, manicures, pedicures, waxing, masks, makeup application) and they really are top notch. I am set up on a schedule for all of my maintenance stuff (waxing, facials, nails) and am constantly switching around my appointments after I set them b/c my schedule is crazy - they are so accommodating and I love it. They never give me attitude when I have to move things and they are very easy to get a hold of. The hair is awesome too, I go somewhere else because I already have a hair stylist who I love, but Daniela is amazing. I have seen her work on so many people walking in and out of there and she knows how to cut hair! Color & updos are fantastic too. My mom got her hair done for my wedding there and it looked great - we got so many compliments! And... they have their own line of makeup and skincare products that are totally affordable and incredibly effective. I LOVE them. All of my skin care products are from here, as well as my mascara (AWESOME) and some facial powder. OMG - I cannot get by without this place. It is the best. GO GO GO! You deserve it!! read more

Received a Groupon for an eyebrow overhaul. I have very thin and sparse eyebrows. This would help me to work with what I have. I entered the establishment and told the girl I was here for my eyebrow overhaul. The girl went outback to tell Michelle I was here. All I could hear was Michelle yelling at the girl. Not a good start. Michelle came out and brought me into a very very small dark gloomy room. The room was a mess. Items all over the floor. Items that should be put away due to sanitary reasons. She looked at my eyebrows. I asked for a mirror, which she gave me so I could prepare to learn what she was going to teach me. Michelles first observation was that I needed to wax the begining of my eyebrows and then start over and draw them in with a pencil. My eyebrows being sparse as they are, I suggested for her to work with what I have. Attitude starts kicking in. Michelle whipped the mirror out of my hands and took it away. I explained to her that I needed to have the mirror so I can watch and learn. Michelle was having no part of it. The appointment ended based on the fact that Michelle was doing it her way or the highway. Then she had the ordasity to yell at me when I was leaving. Words were coming out but she was not making any sense. Splurred speech. I thought she was having a stroke. She was not incontrol. I did not feel safe. I posted a picture of my eyebrows. I booked a mami and a spa pedi, and was not disappointed. 2 hours later I walked out of there feeling great after a VERY overdue pedi. I think the prices are competitive, but thankfully they accept Spa Finder gift cards, so I only really had to pay a little plus tip! I found this place on groupon and went last month. The woman who owns the company and the hair dresser were both very nice. My hair cut came out great. I would definitely recommend this place if you are happy with a no frills and super friendly salon. I think some people prefer really fancy places, but I prefer places like this so much. I had a Groupon to do eye-brow waxing and design and the lady who does eye-brows removed half my brow from one side and she did not want to own up to her mistake and was pretty rude about it. I looked ridiculous and had to rush to the mall to buy an eye-brow pencil to cover up her mistake. Save your money! Especially if you have curly hair or are a POC. I got a Groupon (for face framing balyage, cut, etc...) and an appointment with one of the "best". Picture proves otherwise. Everything she did was a mess from the color, to the cutting, to the "straightening." My hair was orange even after i payed an extra 32 dollars for a toner; no other place has had this issue. My hair is very manageable but for some reason she didn't know how to work with anything but straight hair i could tell. I called to complain to the owner, and after telling me she doesn't believe a hairdresser for 14 years would do such a thing, she told me to come in they will fix it. I would think someone after being a hairdresser for 14+ years would know how to work with many different hair types other than their own. I came in and she basically undid everything and toned using dye ?? They didn't explain well. It wasnt a "fix" because my hair turned green so regardless I will be going to another place to do my hair the right way. I was so over the place i just wanted to leave. The combination of the hard wax she used and her technique was painless and I almost hugged her when I got down. I have nothing but amazing things to say about this salon! My family and friends have been going to Michelle since she started out! I took a few years off from allowing anyone to touch my eyebrows because they were so uneven, I had missing spots of hair.. they were just terrible. I also had horrible experiences with random nail salons waxing my eyebrows, which naturally came out worse than what I started with. My sister who has been going to Michelle faithfully since High School for her eyebrow waxing (over 10 years), told me to go to Michelle. It has been almost 2 years of going to Michelle every 3 weeks, and my eyebrows are 100% times better. Not only is she sweet and talented, she is honest and will never let you walk out of her salon if you are not satisfied. The salon is clean and the environment is more than welcoming. I have referred multiple friends to her for their eyebrows, who have since then become faithful clients as well. Well I tried but now I'm going to let it all out. First I did have good service from Kim. Everything looked great. However when I was chastised by the owner for booking a cut and color ( even though it wasn't me but her front desk staff) when I just needed a color I decided, MEH, why bother go to a small place if they don't have flexibility to change a code in their system. I didn't say anything because I continued to return for eyebrow work. That was a mistake. After having the skin pulled off under my eyebrow 3 times( not in a row, mind you) and not once an apology but the comment: you must be using new facial products, I've had it! I never used any new products. This last time, she put the wax in the same place under the eyebrow twice. Maybe if she paid attention and realized that my skin was sensitive she could have said, sorry let's not put this under your eye, your skin is sensitive. I was again blamed. The artistry of what is done was fine but I don't deserve to be admonished. Never going back. read more
