I visited Mandy's Beauty yesterday for my first facial ever! I purchased the $75 for $50 coupon from yelp. I was half an hour early for my appointment but they took me in right away. I really didn't know what to expect at all. They gave me this comfy little velvet dress to put on and I laid under a blanket on the massage table. The girl, who was super sweet, first did exfoliating on my face, then she massaged my entire face, neck, upper back and shoulders. Then she put the steamer on my face and did a deep pore cleansing, and explained what she was doing. She asked permission to use certain tools that hurt a bit. It was needed though! She also did my eyebrows. After everything was done, she put a mask on my face and said I had to keep it on for 10 minutes. I feel asleep for what felt like the best three hour nap of all time, but it couldn't have been more than 20 minutes tops. I felt so unbelievably relaxed. The entire thing lasted about an hour and 15 minutes. It was worth every single penny. Without the coupon it would have been $88. Still worth it! It's not even really a complaint, but the one thing I would say, is I wish they had an eye mask to put on your eyes when they have to turn the lights back on to do your pores. I was so relaxed in a dark room and when she had to turn the lights on to see what she was doing, it was a bit blinding. The only eye protection I had was a little piece of paper towel. I went here for an acne facial, I had recently tried new facial products and they broke me out pretty badly. I needed to reset my skin so I booked an appointment with Mandy. The facial massage was nice and it extended to my neck and shoulder area (make sure you take off earrings and necklaces). She cleaned my eyebrows in between steps so that was one less thing I had to worry about later :D. The last face mask step was pretty awesome, she left the room and let me nap for 20 minutes, although I didn't nap too much because I was so hot. The blanket she uses is an electric blanket so you stay toasty the entire time, I recommend not wearing fleece sweatpants like I did lol unless you plan on having your butt sweat. The extractions hurt like the dickens. And I had a lot of extractions... But it was evil that was leaving my face so I braved through it. Yes my face was red for several hours afterwards but within a few days, my skin felt PHENOMENALLY CLEAN. It didn't feel clogged or weighed down. Mandy did an excellent job! 1 month later, my skin is still 98% blemish free. Now I play the waiting game as my acne scars fade. Went for an eyebrow wax. It was ok. Convenient location so I might go back. Price was on the pricey side. I think my rating is low because of my previous eyebrow waxing experiences at my hometown salon. At my salon I am given relaxing oils on my wrists to calm me. Lights are dim and the tech uses a gentle tone. In addition to waxing she plucks and trims my brows - huge attention to detail, spends at least 15 min just on my brows! And the price is 20% less than what I paid here. This experience was quick and to the point. Ok wax. But minimal tweezing and no trimming so I anticipate needing another wax in a few weeks.
