Got a wax with Britney yesterday and it was awesome. I used to go to European wax center, but I hated how rushed my appointments were and how I was sent home with pieces of wax still on me. I decided to go out on a whim and buy a groupon for Simplicity Salon. I am SO glad I did. Britney was awesome and talked me through everything, she made it so much less awkward. She is also a perfectionist and made sure everything looked proper. I cannot wait to return in 6 weeks. On a side note- they were doing road work nearby and a lot of streets were blocked off. I was about 10 minutes late to my appointment and they were so understanding and polite about it. I know many other places would've cancelled or rescheduled me for being late. read more

I was gifted a Groupon for a set of 3 pedicures for my birthday. I had my first pedicure with Nia 2 weeks ago and the polish is still intact! I don't get pedicures often, but Nia was great! She was very friendly and gentle with the service. The salon had a really cool atmosphere and I am very excited for my next pedi! You do need to schedule a good amount of time ahead of your desired date if you have an event or want a service done by a certain date. I'd say 2 weeks ahead would probably be safe? read more

I was given a groupon as a gift for a mani, pedi with her and after finally getting an appointment with her she cancelled on me and then told me she wasnt available for another week. Then had the nerve the day we rescheduled to cancel the morning of AGAIN. She then offered me a free mani and pedi so I agreed to reschedule for 7:45am today, I woke up at 7 to a text from her saying she had to cancel AGAIN due to a migraine. She refunded me my money but the hassle of waiting for almost 3 weeks to get my nails done when I could have gone somewhere else is rediculous! I had purchased a Groupon for a shellac manicure and I was able to make an appointment with Carrie, who is friendly and made me feel comfortable. She did a great job with my nails and worked quickly, but did not rush. Don't worry if you didn't bring cash with your Groupon, as Carrie is able to accept tips from credit cards on her iPad. Get there a few minutes early to look for parking and orient yourself. The mill buildings there are a little confusing and I had some difficultly finding numbers that marked each building as I was driving around searching for a spot. If I lived closer, I would come here almost any time that I need my nails done. read more

However, the apt. Was for both a mani/pedi and after I got there she told me that she only had time to do the manicure. I got the manicure and it was awful. It looked like a child painted my nails. I am giving this review under simplicity salon and not Carrie directly. If I could I would give carrie -5 stars. She is that bad. Overall, my experience at Simplicity Salon has been phenomenal. I've been seeing Wendy for hair styling for nearly 6 years now and she continues to knock my socks off each and every appointment. Wendy is incredibly professional, kind, creative, and client-centered. She listens attentively when I express my needs/wants/thoughts in relation to my hair, but at this point I feel so comfortable with her skill level that I tend to provide her with very few guidelines and let her do her thing. She is so talented and creative--I have yet to have a bad hair day since becoming a client! The minute my daughter was ready for her first hair cut it wasn't even a question as to where we'd be bringing her. Additionally, the customer service at Simplicity is exceptional, from the masseuse, to the salon assistants, and of course, the stylists/. This salon understands the value of treating customers well and earning their loyalty. The environment is clean, and comfortable. Finally, the pricing is really reasonable for the quality of work; while I realize it isn't pocket change, I would have expected my services to cost significantly more given the level of expertise and service I've experienced. Appalled at the groupon situation that happened. The business owner should be ashamed that she allowed Carrie to utilize her space or "rent" a mani pedi station then embezzle money out of women looking to have services done. Essentially women would buy a Groupon for services and then the nail tech would cancel an hour before- every time! That is unacceptable and a some point the owner should do what is best for her business and her clients and stop this situation. I first met Brittany via a Groupon and have been seeing her now for more than a year. I love her, I'd never leave her!!! She's a perfectionist with Brazilian waxes! She always takes care to give me preventative treatments for ingrowns, which I can get if not for her attentiveness. Brittany also does facials and she's very informative while she's doing them. Another thing the girls are always very friendly when I go which makes it so pleasant to visit. They always have baked goods, coffee, water etc. I recommend Brittany to anyone looking for an affordable, and amazing aesthetician!!!! Purchased a Groupon to see Carrie for a mani pedi... the morning of I get a text like I see many others have claiming she's sick & she cancelled. Weeks later I was finally able to get an appointment with her & it was horrendous. Not a smile, hardly any acknowledgement. The entire time I was there she kept complaining about how many appointments she had for the day. She rushed through both my manicure & pedicure. She layered the gel polish so thick on my nails that it all peeled off only 2 days later. Carrie seems to be an incredibly pessimistic business person with no passion for her work. If I could give this salon 0 stars I would, I went to the salon with confidence and came out feeling the ugliest I ever have, they turned my hair completely orange and I did not know what to do so I paid and left not realizing exactly how bad it was. I went and looked in a mirror and was shocked at how bad it actually was, my hair was orange and progressively continued to get more orange as the night went on. The next day I had to call out of work to get it fixed at a different salon because it was so horrible and o was too scared to let them ever touch my hair again. My mother then called the salon without me knowing because she felt so bad to get my $100 back and the owner of the salon swore at my mother and told her that I was a baby and that it's just hair and it will grow back because my hair is now falling out because it was fried. She then said she would have slapped brown hair dye on my hair and called it a day and told me to leave if I didn't like it so much. I've never met someone so unprofessional. I recommend no one visits this salon ever oh and on top of the fact I was asked "want do you not like about it" EVERYTHING!!! read more

CAUTION I would like to give ZERO STARS: Absolutely awful and painful experience trying to book an appointment for my friend and I to get a mani and pedi. Booked this as it was a good deal and close to her house but we were cancelled on by Carrie Kenyon last minute. After that I tried to book an appointment by myself and she was very limited with times that she could do but I still made it work and booked way in advance only to get cancelled on 6 times after. If you are buying from Groupon you will more than likely not get your money back unless you fight with them on it. Mine had expired because of the amount of times she cancelled on me. About a course of 3-4 months timeline. I then called the owner of simplicity salon (Wendy) and she basically had no concern about it as she said it has "nothing" to do with her salon. She rents a booth to her INSIDE of her salon so it had EVERYTHING to do with her poor excuse of a "business" she went onto saying that "you fucked with the wrong person" a real owner would have remained calm with an angry customer and offered at least maybe a haircut or some other service at her salon but didn't. I purchased a shellac mani / and pedi as a deal on Living Social. I read previous reviews that mention Carrie cancelling on their appointments and I'm sad to say I had the same experience (I purchased in June 2016 and finally got my services in March of this year). Eventually she offered to give me a refund, but I explained I would prefer to have the services I paid for. Finally after needed to reach out again to reschedule (I felt as though Carrie should have been reaching out seeing as she was the one needing to cancel) and I made my way into the Salon for my appointment. The salon was located in a brick commercial building and was typical in appearance. I did feel as though some conversations I heard among the staff were not that of a professional level.. The pedicure I received was a large glass bowl filled with water (not the tub that I'm used to) but it was still a good experience. The color options were great, and there were lots to choose from. Then came the manicure and this is where I was most unhappy. Every nail appointment I've ever had, my cuticles have been cut down. This was not the experience I had with Carrie, and I feel as though this is why my nails turned out the way they had. My shellac manicure was 50% chipped and ruined one week after having them done. I've never had such a disastrous looking manicure after one week. I typically don't need to go back for roughly 2-3 and barely ever have a chip. So, parking is a pain in the butt. There are a few spots designated for salon customers but they were being used when I went. The inside of the salon is really neat architecturally and it's a comfortable atmosphere. Wendy, the owner, is very nice, energetic, and passionate. She really seems to put her clients first. She is honest, and is not afraid to let you know how she really feels about your hair ideas, etc which I appreciated. I went in wanting a new hair color that would be a drastic change from my current color. She was honest and told me if I didn't plan on keeping it it would be expensive and a pain in the butt to reverse. She told me she could give me depth, and a brand new look, and that it would be a drastic change, which was what I was looking for. After almost 3 hours at the salon I loved the cut, thought the way she did my highlights was much different than I had before, but to be honest it wasn't much of a color difference than when I walked in. I was a little disappointed. Spending almost $175 (including tip) for a full foil, shampoo, cut, and blowdry is the most I have ever spent on my hair. I was shocked at how expensive it was. No one noticed I had highlights but did notice the new cut and thought it was great, as I had as well. So overall, I was disappointed in the price for the color I received. AWFUL!! (and I never even stepped into the place!) I bought a Groupon deal for a pedicure and decided to finally try and use it. I have a two year old and thought it was time for some Me time. Well apparently not at Simplicity Salon. I called this afternoon and whomever I spoke with should never be allowed to answer the phone. She was RUDE! The conversation lasted about 30 seconds, but typing it will not do the tone justice. I was so stunned by her rudeness I stammered for about five seconds and then just told her I would call back. Honestly, if I was to call back or have stayed on the line with her, I would not have been kind with my words. i decided that I was going to let it go and chalk it up to a bad Groupon buy. Let it be said, I like Groupon and have had good experiences with the app. Fast forward to his evening. I get a call from Wendy, I wish I knew who I spoke with this afternoon, and she said to me verbatim... Wendy: "Hi is Wendy at Simplicity Salon, we were so busy today that I think we missed your call." Me: "No, you answered and you were rude, so I am all set." Wendy: "Well, I'm sorry about that." (said very sarcastically by the way) Me: " I'm sure you are, have a good night." and I hung up. I was willing to let this go, but you called me at 7:30 tonight and LIED about missing my call. So I am now writing this review. Groupon should cancel you. Or maybe that is why you are on Groupon, because you don't get the business you should. Again, no offense to Groupon. I really do like them. Simplicity Salon, on the other hand, should not be given the business. This review is for Nia! We went yesterday for pedicures. She did a wonderful job on both of us. Very gentle and toes look great! She is very friendly and converses well. As far as the Salon itself, it is not a fancy place or elegant. If you want atmosphere as well as a wonderful pedicure well this might not be the place for you. If you can look past the mismatch chairs and bad decor well then give it a try and after all is said and done it's all about the good pedicure. Horrible experience at Simplicity salon in North Andover. I had purchase the groupon for eyelashes extension, biggest mistake I ever did. I was there for 4 hours my eyelashes looked awful, you could see the glue, my eyes were red and burning. Told the girl that I dont like them and they definitely dont look as I had seen on the picture. She said I'll get used to it. Left the salon my eyes were continuing to be red called and went back to have them removed. Another hour at that bed in pain. She pour glue all over my eyes and they were burning. She took out some of my eyelashes in the process, and I have bold spot in the center of my left eye.The owner of the place didnt even bother to talk to me. Only advised me to deal with groupon. My right eye it hurts to blink. Think twice if you are planing to do your eyelashes at this place. Is painful process and the result is horrible. read more

I hardly ever do reviews and this is my first on yelp. I will never go here again. Devin is an amazing facialist however the owner is extremely rude and that's putting it lightly. I gave my mother a Groupon for her birthday for a facial. My mother called and made an appointment with the owner for a facial with Devin. Again Devin is great, I am only talking about the owner. My mother called to make an appt and said she had a Groupon and the owner was fine with it. Well, the day of the appointment my mother (who is 81 yrs old in great health) went there. The owner started screaming at my mother that she is sick of people using Groupon for a facial and that my mother was "taking advantage" of the system and she was so sick of it. She was literally yelling at my mother who just walked in the door for her appointment that THE OWNER gave her KNOWING she had a Groupon when she gave my mother the appointment. My mother ended up leaving in tears never getting the facial. This wasn't the first time I noticed the owners rudeness. On another note there was another facialist who worked there who was fantastic and she ended up quitting because of the owner. I was heading on a vacation a few weeks ago and needed to get a mani/pedi. Saw Carrie's groupon, purchased it and called her immediately for an appt. I was scheduled to go in Monday @ 10, I get a call 20 minutes before to let me know she couldn't keep the appt. I asked her for wednesday, (it was cutting it close to my trip since i was leaving wed night). She kept the appt. When doing my nails I noticed she was very quick, like she had to get me in and out. I brought in some decals to be put on my nails, told her if she needed to charge me to put them on, i had zero problem paying for it, (all she had to do was take them off the sheet and stick on my nails) she didn't put hardly any top coat on my nails and later on the decals started to come off. Less than a day they were on.And the decals were purchased from a friend of mine in florida who has a very successful nail salon.Carrie should feel lucky I didn't ask her to draw freehand on my nails which I've seen people do. Upon further inspecting my nails in the airport you could see the whites of my nails and they were starting to chip (I've gotten alot of manicures and this has never happened till now). I called the next day the owner Wendy was quite rude to me, then Carrie called me and was very un-sympathetic. Carrie told me she didn't charge me to put them on, and she didn't think she did anything wrong. The only reason why I didn't call the day it happened was because it was after 5 and the salon was closed. Carrie made me go through groupon for the refund even though it went directly to her. She told me that if I wrote a bad review here, she would leave me a bad review about my business. I've never done business with carrie thru my business so to me her saying that was very childish. So, I had wanted this review to be a good one, as I was ultimately very excited for my service, but sadly this is not the case. I purchased a great package deal on their Groupon for a mani/pedi with Carrie, who reached out to me via her cellphone. We set up an appointment, and she confirmed with me the day before, so I moved things around and set this time aside. Now, as an esthetician, I understand this industry, and I respect those in it. The morning of my appointment, I got a text saying she had to cancel because her mother was being rushed to the hospital, which is completely understandable and I told her that I hoped everything was alright, and that we can reschedule for a later date. 3-4 days goes by, and I reached out to her wishing her well, and inquired about when we were going to reschedule (as I had heard nothing back, even from anyone else at the salon). We planned a date in the next 2-3 weeks, and everything was all set up, and I put the time aside with Carrie specifically, as she said she would prefer to do the service herself. I wished her well and hoped her mother was doing alright. When the morning of the appointment came weeks down the road, I got a text early that morning saying again something happened with her mother coincidentally, and that she had to cancel. Now, I understand family emergencies, but it was odd that it was specifically at the times of my appointments, and nothing in between. Instead of being respectful due to the fact that she cancelled twice and possibly offered a complimentary add-on or something similar, she just suggested she give a refund to me, and that would be the end of it. I received a Groupon pedi as a gift after my son was born. My friend and I scheduled a time to go in. Carrie confirmed the day before and my husband took work off so we could gob(as did my friends husband). One hour before she claimed her mother was being rushed to the hospital. We felt terrible for her wished her well and rescheduled. Well wouldn't ya know the same exact thing happened. 6 months later my husband bought me the same Groupon not know that was her who cancelled from before...I scheduled it on my birthday told her it was my birthday pedi, she confirmed the night before on the cell phone, then an hour before cancelled saying her mother was being rushed to the hospital. I hope it's not true but it just seems a little too convenient of a story to happen over and over and if you read other reviews I'm not the only one that has gotten the same excuse. I got the best facial here by Brittany! It was the most relaxing experience and my face feels so hydrated and smooth now. The microdermabrasion gets all the dead skin cells off your face and leaves it feeling so soft and healthy! Brittany was gentle when it came to extracting blackheads/pimples and did such a great job. I left with my skin glowing and feeling hydrated and hardly any redness from extraction--which is a huge surprise because I have the most sensitive skin that gets red and irritated very easily.
