I used to come here with my grandma, so walking in still carries a lot of good memories for me. I wish I could have brought her more often before she passed, but in the later years of her life, reading became harder for her because of Alzheimer's. She still loved her knitting books and liked having books around, even if sometimes I think she was mostly pretending to read them. Honestly, that still feels very her. There is something comforting about a real bookstore. The smell of books, the displays, the quiet browsing, the accidental "I came in for one thing and now I live here" energy. The ability to ask an associate for their recommendations and their help in finding something you never expected you might fall in love with This location has always had that classic Barnes & Noble feeling, and I appreciate that it has stayed part of the community while so many bookstores have disappeared. That said, books have gotten expensive, and I have fully become a sellout with Audible and used-book shopping. I'm actually getting ready to downsize my own book collection because some of them deserve a better life with someone who will actually read them again. It would be amazing if Barnes & Noble had a simple used-book trade-in or resale option here. Maybe they do and I'm just not in on the secret, but either way, I'm still grateful this location exists.

They have a Starbucks Cafe and the cheesecake comes from the Cheesecake Factory. There was plenty to choose from to snack on besides the cheesecake. The servers at the cafe were professional and very friendly. Mom had a wheelchair so we appreciated the ramp to get to the seating area for the cafe. The store is well stocked and very clean. The children's area is large and very inviting for the young ones. Next to the children's area is a large display of toys, many of the toys are educational and interactive. They have magazines, toys, journals, cards, books of all types of genres.

Really nice in here! Perfect place to read or do homework!…read more I came in here to check it out as it's a relatively new location. The shelf layout is really cool and they have tons of books, games, Legos, and puzzles. Inside there's a Starbucks too. I didn't buy anything but I will be back to do so if I need something!

I was devastated when the previously Barnes and Noble closed across the street. I spent many hours…read morethere and wasn't sure how a smaller store would work since I am not a fan of the village location but I am very happy with this new Rochester Hills location! First, the store is larger than I expected. I knew it was going to smaller than the previous store but I think they did a good job with the layout of the store. It was designed for browsing, which I love! It doesn't feel like a generic chain store but it is modern and clean. They utilized forward facing displays on the front shelves and it is very effective. I love seeing all the book covers and featured titles right when I walk in, I am always finding something new and interesting right off the bat. I notice I find different editions of books each time I come, I like that they carry a little of everything and stock seems to rotate often so I am discovering new books each visit. All the genres are condensed so each section isn't quite as extensive as before but they seem to have covered all the bases. Still offering magazines, music, games, puzzles and a great kids section complete with a Lego table. Stationary and journals weren't left behind either, still plenty to choose from in the novelty gifts section. They really make use of every inch and it flows well. You can tell they did their research to maximize their inventory and it's working! Staff was friendly and happy to point you in the right direction as needed. They keep the store very organized and stocked, which is appreciated. The cafe is updated and offers plenty of space to enjoy your drink and a book. The menu includes a variety of food items. If this location is as popular as the previous one during the holidays, I can see it getting a bit crowded. The areas are less spread out and smaller overall so it may get a little tight for holiday shopping but I'll gladly shove myself in a corner surrounded by books to get out of the way if I have to. I am so glad to have our neighborhood Barnes and Noble back!

I noticed I entered in our anniversary year incorrectly less than a day after creating it. The company responded with an invoice for me to pay to fix this one simple issue. Not to mention the book already cost me close to $100. After I received a email that the book was shipped out. I checked the edit again and the company added a page to the book with a typo. I notified them and they said it's my fault because I didn't review it. I said this was not my issue this is a typo on typo end. I begged and pleaded that they kindly fix it and send me a new book or refund me. They went ahead and sent me another invoice for me to pay for their mistake. I reviewed everything thoroughly before approving the book the 2nd time and now have to deal with their typo because they won't fix this issue. I would not do business with this company. The concept is really cute and can be a very lovable gift but they are not very compassionate when it comes to helping their customers. They are also not very worried about creating the perfect book fr you-if so they would also proof-read the pages and notify you with any issues before publishing it. It seems that they are really just working to overcharge and rob you

Review #546 - Updated from past 6/24/2017 Review....4 Stars to 5…read more April 30, 2026 - Thursday I recently shopped here after striking out at a nearby other home store - At Home. I was happy to purchase a beautiful Yellow Forsythia Artificial Wreath for My Front Double Doors and 2 sets of colored Tulips for an artificial floral arrangement at this Ollie's Bargain Outlet. I also purchased Serta Soft Cool and Warm material Bed sheets throughout my browsing and price checking with comparison. Yes, this location maybe disorganized at times or messy areas of towels or other sale items but shoppers can be the reason because every time I shop here for a sale item or check on an ad item, the staff here are working the best they can and hard at times unpacking boxes to stocking shelves. I've been greeted with a Hello at times which is courtesy of them in between their busy work schedule. If busy at check out and a long line begins, another pleasant employee will open up another register. Seasonal merchandise is always plenty especially My last visit in February the store was ready stocked with Easter and Spring items which I posted photos of from the main center areas. Sign up to collect rewards for your purchases and of course Emails will be sent with their weekly Sale Flyer ! www Ollie's us Download their App for quick reference too! "Get & Buy Good Stuff Cheap" from 25% up to 70% off manufacturer prices Cookware, Bedding, Bath, Lawn & Garden & POOL Supplies and Summer Toys are Now Sold Here! Music is still be played to help your steps in shopping as years ago. I enjoy the Herr's Snacks, Moose Munch Popcorn, plus a certain Cereal Brand - SpecialK, Coffee K-Cups and Other Grab and Go items but Watch The Expiration Dates. I've never had a problem but just in case grab an item from the back or if up front check the date. The "Library" area lol is still great for Readers with Shelves of Books labeled with different signs for the different readers. Currently their Summer Ad is out with Window Air Conditioners, and Portable on Wheels too to get ready for the Heat of Michigan. Those would be good for College dorms or residents without A/C. I also noticed in their New Flyer for the month of May, they are selling a brand of different tools called Hart. How about a front or patio door Coir Mat? Its now at Ollie's in the Outdoor Patio Section.
