I came here on a VERY cold day (24 degrees, windy and left like 10 degrees according to weather.com…read moreand snowing). I didn't think many animals would be out but this is the only day I had available to visit so I had to go. First of all, because of the cold and snow, there were very few people which was amazing to be honest. It felt like I had the whole zoo to myself and surprisingly, I had good luck with the animals. A lot of animals were inside or the habit was shut down but I still pretty much saw what I wanted to. The enclosures were clean and spacious. I loved that I could go into the Elephant Barn and see them feeding them, etc. The entrance is currently under construction but there were several employees posted along the way directing guests. Also, parking is free which is a plus! The zoo is big but not TOO big. I was there for about 3-4 hours, although I did spend more time in certain areas to look at certain animals. The aquarium was quite small but still a good experience. My only downside for me was the gift shop. The main gift shop didn't have much in it to my liking which is unfortunate. I still would recommend this zoo and would love to come back to check it out some more!

It was an easy drive from Pittsburgh…read more I was educated by a 3 year old about how this was going to work. While paying for admission, you purchase little buckets of animal food and carrots. Gravel paths were easy to navigate. The deer and sheep couldn't get enough of the food nuggets. They were eating out of our hands. In the goat pen, the 3 year old went in confidently. Confidence was shaken when he was surrounded by little and big goats who wanted those food pellets. Dad swooped in and picked him up above the herd. Look for the food shoots that send food directly to the animal's food bowl. Yes we held a baby Joey. The 3 yr old wanted no parts of the baby kangaroo or pony ride. Very kid friendly and on their visual level. Was disappointed that I couldn't find and staff didn't have a penny for the penny machine. With your receipt you receive 1/2 off same day admission at Keystone Safari (a short distance away). We took advantage of the discount.

This is a partial petting zoo/feed animals/birds/gift shop with employees that genuinely want you to enjoy your visit. Free, dedicated parking lot. Upon entering you may purchase bags of carrots/dry kibble and very clear directions on what creatures eat which food. The memory we will laugh forever about was when a Llama "hocked out a lougie" onto the face of the people in our group. She had awful smelling saliva and chewed up bits of carrots/debris on her face and hair. Comedy.
