I really do like it here. I can't say how good it is for the animals because I honestly don't know but it seems like it's pretty good. I don't know if they're rescued or not. We are big fans of feeding the giraffes. I don't know why there isn't a restaurant in the gift shop or anything they do have some food truck type deals throughout the zoo but I think it's mostly hotdogs.

Positive: - Well-maintained and clean. - Safari trucks are available so you don't have to drive your own car. - Plenty of opportunities to interact with animals. - Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Negative: - Poor food options. - Zoo is small. - Can get pricey if you want to do walk-thru, safari, and feed animals. - Not a ton of seating or shaded areas in the zoo.

I have driven past Keystone Safari a countless amount of times but have never been. A couple weeks ago, I was finally about to go with two young kiddos. The line to get in was quite long, but moved at a decent rate due to the three employees working at the check-in desk. To my surprise, we spent around 2.5 hours here. We walked around half of the zoo then took a break to eat lunch at the picnic tables near the black swans and food truck. This zoo has a good amount of animals on their 144 acre property. The zoo walk through tickets are $18 for adults 18-61, $15 for children 3-12 and seniors 62+, and infants 2 and under are free. The zoo offers $5 feeding wristband which allows 3 feeds per band to feed Barnyard, Reindeer, and Giraffe. You can also pay $2 per feed at each station if you do not purchase the wristband at check-in. In addition, you can purchase a $2 stick to feed the butterflies in the butterfly house. We all have a season pass now which comes with a handful of perks. An adult season pass costs $58.00, while a child and senior season pass costs $48.00. For Military/First Responder, the price is $48.00 with a valid ID. The kids and I had a great time at Keystone Safari and can not wait to go back!

This super fun attraction is an amazing place to explore. Makes a great day trip and it was entertaining for the entire family. Told friends about my experience here. Pay for the safari truck ride, it's worth it. Keystone Safari is very well maintained and I could tell they take good care of the animals. I also recommend buying some feed for the safari ride. If you go later in the day, one bucket is enough as the animals won't be as hungry as earlier in the day. Enjoyed walking through the area where smaller animals are. Make sure you see the giraffes. Opportunity to feed them as well. Gift shop is very nice too. Prices are reasonable. Will be back here!

    Emu eating food

Honestly very cool experience!! Took my 4 year old and to the drive through portion and we had a blast. Lots of animals came up to the car and they were very gentle. They licked the food out of our hands versus biting (although the birds were more into pecking lol.) the staff was very finely, bathrooms on sight, food buckets are cheap but I recommend two! It's a very nice pace- I never felt rushed and got to take my time feeding and petting the animals that approached me. $14/ per person

I am always team Living Treasures but they moved the beloved giraffes so we had to make the trip to Keystone to check it out. It is a newer location so the place is very updated and looks nice. The parking lot is also a lot bigger. There's not much shade here so I do recommend coming earlier in the day or bringing proper sun protection. Don't forget the water! They have a good variety of animals to see. You can also feed a lot of them which is always the kids favorite part. Especially feeding the giraffes. If you're going to pay extra to feed anything I'd suggest the giraffes, it's always a cool experience. They recently have a new addition to the giraffe family as well! It looks like they have a zip line course which is awesome. Everyone using it looked like they were having a good time. We didn't have time to look into that further but definitely a future venture. The kids also loved the bounce house area. From that area we could see a spot where they had pony rides. All around it was a good time. It's definitely more nostalgic going to living treasures but this new location is very nice. I also saw a sign on the way out that mentioned getting a discount at living treasures if you took your ticket from today with you. I'm not sure if that was a special offer or year round but thought that it was nice.

After much waiting Keystone Safari opened briefly during the Holidays before closing for the winter. They will be open once again in the Spring of 2019. While all of the animals had not yet arrived to their homes when we visited, there were plenty on display to give a great preview of the fun to come. On display were camels, llamas, hyenas, lions, bears, deer and lots of fowl. My favorite part was the giraffe - and you get to feed them!! In fact carrots and lettuce were available at various locations to get an up-close look at the critters. Keystone Safari also offered camel rides and a holiday reindeer display with lots of places that were perfect for family photos. This promises to be a great place to take the kids after shopping at the outlets. It's affordable to visit and also for a season pass . I purchased both of my animal loving daughters a pass and plan on spending lots of time with that giraffe. It's lots of fun - I can't wait until Spring!

This was a really nice trip away on a Sunday afternoon. The grounds are really clean, well maintained and spacious. It wasn't busy while we were there at all, which was really great. Admission and price to feed the animals was reasonable. Feeding the giraffe was our favorite part but there's lots of areas here that really excited our kids. We've done the drive thru experience as a Covid safe activity last summer but ventured back to do the walk through. There's a nice, reasonably priced gift shop on the way out and a couple food options inside. We really enjoyed visiting and will be back again sometime this summer. Staff was friendly and helpful too.

Great with the kids. We loved the tortoises and the giraffes and it was great feeding the camels and goats they were like little angels but over all it was great I would recommend for you or the family

We did the walking zoo part today, but we will be back to the drive through Safari soon though! This was our first time here and we were pretty impressed and most importantly our kid loved it. The zoo isn't huge, but it offers a lot and is a nice change of pace from the Pittsburgh zoo. The park is very walkable, spacious and it has great views of all the animals they have to display. We liked that they allow you to feed many of the animals. The animal enclosures are nice, easy to access and large enough for many people to view. Honestly, there are parts of this zoo that I liked better than some of the popular big city zoos. There is a nice variety of animals. There are many kid friendly activities such as goats to pet, a misting tunnel, a butterfly house, bounce houses, zip lines, and dinosaur sculptures. They look like the have one or two areas were they may be looking to expand this part of the zoo. We definitely plan on coming back, so we decided to put the cost our admissions towards a couple season passes.

Animals include lions, tigers, bears, turtles, goats, horses, cougars, leopards, servals, foxes, macaques, etcetera. The sanctuary relies on admission fees and charitable donations to provide housing, food, and veterinary care for these animals. Hours vary by season, and admission prices vary by people's age. Currently, the admission price is $15 per adult, and children cost less. Food such as crackers can be purchased in the gift shop and fed to some animals. The website contains a wish list of many items that people can donate. I visited this sanctuary on a Monday afternoon. Most of the animals' enclosures were fairly spacious. I saw an emu who had deformed legs, horses who could not see, a deer who had cancerous tumors, and so on. I feel happy to know that these animals have a home to live out the rest of their lives, and I encourage other people to visit and financially support this sanctuary.

Some of the fenced areas have some undergrowth that makes seeing animals hard (I was a little upset about that) bc you want to be able to see them but the brambles and upgrowth makes it hard. Located in a beautiful area just outside the city, the zoo is easy to navigate, with plenty of parking and a unique entrance that starts with an escalator ride up to the main gates. For a zoo of this size, I thought the admission price was very fair, and the layout makes it easy to enjoy a full day without feeling overwhelmed. We brought our son to see the animals, and he had an absolute blast. The seasonal dinosaur exhibit was a fun bonus, with animatronic dinosaurs scattered throughout the park that added a little extra excitement to the visit. We made our way around the entire zoo, seeing everything from lions, tigers, and cheetahs to elephants, giraffes, penguins, and the tropical forest filled with monkeys and other wildlife. One of my favorite areas was the Outback Adventure section, where the elevated walkways through the trees let you get a great view of wallabies, while the beavers and otters were a big hit with our family. The zoo also does a great job catering to families with young kids. There's a large playground area to burn off some energy, and we enjoyed lunch from one of the touch-screen ordering locations with a nice view overlooking the giraffe habitat. The entire property was clean, well-kept, and easy to explore. The only thing I'd probably skip next time is the train ride near the entrance. At $4 per person, it's more of a trackless vehicle with a few animal displays than a traditional zoo train. That said, my son smiled and laughed the whole ride, so I can't really call it a loss. There was some construction happening around the zoo during our visit, but it looks like it's all part of future improvements, which is exciting to see. Overall, we had a fantastic day making family memories and exploring everything the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium has to offer. We'll definitely be back, and if you're looking for a fun family outing around Pittsburgh, this is an easy recommendation.
