Absolutely fabulous company, they made our complicated move go very easily from the start. The people that packed, loaded, and managed our move were the nicest movers I've ever met in all my 24 years of military service. Great communication, very responsive. The packers were quick and careful (big thanks to Saul and Johnny who spent a few long days dealing with us!). And when we had an issue with the other assigned shipper, International reacted quickly and adjusted the plan to maintain my family's moving timeline. Incredible service. My household goods were delivered on July 28 and the gentlemen who delivered my stuff were such a great team and helpful. I had Ralph and Juan who delivered. Very respectful and offered to help more when we realized I didn't have a parts box. I wish this was the same team who packed my stuff but I am still grateful for the work they did. Provided me numbers to call people to come and pick up my boxes once I had unpacked as well as giving me information to help with my claim. read more

Horrible! Upon receiving my HHG the way they packed was terrible. Some boxes were labeled incorrectly, they added things like pictures frames with a tv, boxes with my kitchen utensils were just thrown in a box. Things were broken, shoes and towels were packed together, the list goes on. I had a lot of items damaged. If your military ask for a different moving company to pack your items because this one is not it. read more

This moving company was horrible. The way they packed all of our stuff was ridiculous. They just threw random stuff in boxes. Not only did we not get our stuff til over a month later, over $600 worth of our stuff was stolen. DO NOT RECOMMEND! On March 21st, I received a phone call from the Driver (I think his name was quoniez) that he was at my house time was 1058. On 17th of March Friday I was told by this driver he would be there in the afternoon. We came up with a plan to meet back at my house at 1200. He arrived with 2 "assistants" and we went through a walkthrough. I explained the parts box was staying and it was marked VOID on the inventory. He acknowledged this and we finished the walkthrough. I had a question about the crates. I called the military QA Mrs. Vinson to ask. The driver seemed to get frustrated. Then when I wanted to check off the items the packers packed before they went into the crate the driver got upset. He claimed that I was making up a new inventory and this is simply not true. I wanted to check the items that were leaving the house going into the truck. I called Mike from the TSP and the QA military inspector Mrs. Vinson to bring them in on what is happening. I wasn't happy about not getting eyes on my things. After all these are my possessions. So instead of arguing with this man the driver I watched from afar and tried to not interact with him. So the assistants said they were leaving and that's when I saw the 2 modems on the table I asked why aren't they packed to the assistant. He turned to the driver and he starts immediately getting upset saying things in Spanish knowing I can't understand him but the assistants could. Then he asks me why didn't I tell him before the other packers left. I explained everything to him. Usual courtesy I've seen over the years is to ask the customer to do a last minute walk around to make sure they didn't miss anything. At this point, I had enough I called the QA inspector and told her what was happening. I signed the inventory. The next day the missed items were picked up. In 20 years of military service 3 years I was a QA inspector I've never seen this type of behavior from a mover/packer! In all my life, i've never had a company send a representative to do a service and their representative acts like this inside of my house! When I speak up about it to a company rep I get "we will talk to him". This was wrong and so disrespectful and this needs to be addressed if not internally at least to potential customers. read more

They were good at packing and the workers were friendly. However, the original scheduled pick up dates were changed, it no one called to let us know. So I wasted a day sitting around waiting for packers that never showed up. When they showed up on the new scheduled date, everything went fine. read more

I admire the hard work from the crew, but it seemed short lived. On a Friday afternoon, once 3:30/4pm came around the crew began to quickly make for the exit. What was more upsetting, is how our entire shipment was broken down to nuts and bolts, and the crew did not know how to re-install our living room table/chairs, and our living room entertainment stand. Missing boxes, boxes from different families, missing hardware to our shelves, alot damaged items, and a wardrobe box filled of TRASH is not my idea of good quality services. Damages where annotated as soon as the items came off the truck, but once it came to the paperwork, it seemed the driver wanted me to rush the process and not annotate it in the shipping papers. Talking with customer service to attempt to pick up the additional boxes and paper is another complaint itself. read more

One of the reasons we decided to hire professional movers is that we have a full size console piano. We further thought that a major company like Mayflower would have a piano dolly. We were completely wrong; Mayflower does not own a piano dolly. The movers arrived in an unmarked truck with two men. Nobody told them that there would be a piano to be moved, so we had to wait another 90 minutes for three more workers to arrive. I asked if they would be using a piano dolly, but they had no idea what that is. Instead they tried to man-handle the piano, setting it down on the ground outside several times. We made it a point to clarify with the Mayflower estimator the details of the move. The estimator told us that the movers would use a piano dolly, that our upholstered items would be covered with plastic, and that we would be able to track online the location of our furniture as it moved across the country. These were all lies. The movers did not use a dolly. The movers did not even bring plastic, in fact one of the sofa cushions was placed directly on the dirty cargo truck floor with no protection whatsoever. We never had any idea where our shipment was until it showed up at the destination. The shipment arrived in horrible condition. All the boxes were severely crushed, the end of a large office desk was pushed in and splintered, one leg of the piano was broken, the handle on the recliner was broken off completely, and another office desk had damaged edges on two sides. The workers at the origin warehouse in El Paso had transferred our shipment from the cargo truck to wooden crates. The gorillas who made the transfer jammed each item into the crates with such force that it was as if they were purposely trying to cause maximum damage. The wooden crates were delivered to my destination on a flatbed truck. The fork lift operator who loaded the crates had some facing to the left and some facing to the right. Unloading would have been simpler if all crates were facing the same side of the truck. The driver of the flatbed truck did not park in the street to unload. Instead he drove over the landscaping and parked on my property. This not only left ugly black marks on the concrete but also left nails and debris in my yard from the unpacking process. Service and delivery vehicles should always park in the street. The driver at the destination was an experienced mover who explained in detail to his helpers how to hold furniture and how to angle the pieces to fit through narrow spaces. The driver was also curt, impatient, and short-tempered. The driver tried to get me to sign the receipt paperwork before everything was unloaded. The proper procedure is to unload and unpack everything before asking the customer to sign anything. The unpacking was not completely finished because the driver seemed to be in a hurry to leave to take care of some type of personal business. The load and unload windows provided by Mayflower seem to be generic values of two days to load and 14 days to unload, without regard to actual scheduling, logistics or workload considerations. I was never notified when my load left the El Paso warehouse and I was never notified when my load arrived at the destination warehouse. Near the end of the window I was called to schedule a delivery date after the window expired. I asked for a time of day, and they called back and changed the delivery date to the last day of the window. I found out later that my shipment sat for about a week in a warehouse about 10 miles down the road from my destination. I never even knew what company was in possession of the shipment at any particular point or why Mayflower was not handling the move. I never saw the name Mayflower on any truck, container, or uniform; although the name Mayflower appeared on some of the paperwork. On the plus side, the actual weight of the shipment was less than estimated, and Mayflower issued a refund without my intervention. I did file a claim against Mayflower and the claims process was a relatively painless experience. The adjuster was helpful and prompt. The claims process was straightforward and the adjuster was easy to work with. In retrospect, the best way to move is to rent your own truck, so you will always know where it is, and hire local workers, so you can personally supervise the handling. If you do decide to use a moving company for some reason, be sure to buy the maximum amount of insurance available to get full replacement value. read more

My current military move from Georgia to El Paso, TX was terrible on the Georgia end. When Jimmy, Josh, and Tommy showed up to unpack all my stuff at our house in El Paso it made up for terrible movers in Georgia. They were professional, courteous and knowledgeable. They took care to ensure everything they unpacked was done with care and even took the time to make sure all my stuff was inventoried with no rush. They contacted their company to make sure our second shipment was all there and on its way and also they made the necessary call to get 3rd party help involved in assembling my pool table. Thieves! Pretty certain the movers who packed my things in EP are the ones who stole from me. By the time I realized what was gone, it was too late to report anything to the military for any kind of reimbursement. They stole my son's piggy bank money (about $40 in change), my designer MK bag, and an LV wallet. Yes, I should never have trusted to leave any designer items in my closet. But with a newborn baby, I just didn't have time to monitor these guys. Very disappointed with this company. Will never use them again. And that's sad because the guys who actually drove our stuff to San Antonio and unpacked us were really great guys! The two who packed us up on day #1...thieves! And the same two guys also did damage to one of our bedroom walls! And I mean knocked-a-giant-hole-in-the-wall-damage! Ridiculous! They didn't bother to tell me about it either. I found it after they devoured the pizza we got them and left. I reported it, but the company did nothing to repair it or compensate us. read more
