Still, Pep Boys has a special way of getting under my skin which is such a bummer! Because this shop is huge and close to where I live it comes to mind first when I need air in my tires, car inspections, or other quick service that can't wait. What I can't understand is why I keep going back when the service is so disappointing. The other day we were planning on going for a drive and realized my boyfriend needed an oil change. We didn't want to drive a ton before changing the oil so we stopped into Pep Boys to see if they could help. We spent 5 minutes standing in front of the guy behind the service desk staring at him before he acknowledged us. Then, once he started helping us he didn't seem to know what he was talking about and suggested the wrong type of oil. Finally, in the middle of talking to us he took a phone call. Needless to say we walked out and won't be returning. I gave two stars because they did put air in my tires and get my Lyft inspection done quickly on a separate occasion. I just can't get over how I always feel like an inconvenience as a customer even when I don't need anything that requires much work on their end. I really hope that eventually Pep Boys becomes a place people feel comfortable and welcome walking into.

My husband said I called earlier and was told if I waited someone could help me. The guy the told him "why don't you take off your jacket and go stand out side and do it, you're dressed much warmer than me". After that my husband just walked out and did not purchase the battery. Napa in anoka charged the same and put it in no problem. Clearly this store must be doing really well and doesn't need any business to turn someone away like that. And to talk to someone like that is just ridiculous and hateful. I will never give this company business again.

I have to move this store up to 5 stars!…read more I don't have to come here often. But when I do, it's always for some weird specialty battery. Again, the staff were great! And they had the battery that I needed. I wanted a small lead acid battery for a battery & solar powered electric fence controller. I also had fun looking at all the latest & greatest LED bulbs. Most telling of all, I had to return the battery the very next day. The fencer itself was bad, not the battery. The return was completely hassle free.
