I got an arm wax done here. The lady waxing my arms didn't seem like she knew what she was doing. The wax she was using was not hot enough. The wax was also in a cartridge that rolls wax out, which doesn't not seem to be very sanitary since it's used on every client. The woman waxing me gripped my arms so tight that she left bruising; I've never bruised before. The wax was also ripped off using only one wax strip for each arm; that made the wax harder to remove and stripped the top layer of skin from my arms. I've never had such a horrible waxing experience in my life. I'm very surprised that the business has not reached out after a week of me posting this review. I reached out to them asking them what I am supposed to do about the blotches left on my skin after the wax I had. Done here (pic attached taken 2weeks after wax). read more

This was my 1st time. My visit was a gift from my husband. Upon entering the spa your senses are immediately awakened. Fragrant but not overwhelming. The have a lovely boutique setting with many items. I was greeted by a lovely lady, the receptionist, and was signed in and filled out a simple one page questionnaire. My massage therapist then came out to greet me with a loving voice and sweet smile. She lead me down a very beautiful, neutral toned and soft lit hallway to my tx room. It was very dimly lit with the soft glow of a gorgeous salt quartz light. The sound of light music and trickling water instantly relaxes you. A "consultation" is then given ie: what to expect and know that a massage is meant to feel good while releasing uncomfortable tension. I opted for the 80 minute Swedish hot stone massage..Oh wow! All I can say is heaven. I suffer from severe musculoskeletal pain round the clock and I didn't hurt for hours following my massage and now 12 hours later I am still relaxed. As soon as I thought it was over, It was time to turn over. Turn over? Oh yeah. I left with zero tension. I not only recommend this place, I have already made a referral to a person calling tomorrow to book a massage. Just the smile on my face made him want an appt. I had met Intimo founder, Tami, and various team members visiting a certain no wimpy winery over a several month period. During the wedding planning process, we were determined to work with folks that were one degree of separation from us or someone that knew us well. The process started with a color test visit at their very cool location in Modesto. It was even more exciting to find out they carry the complete Murad line along with mineral based make-up. As a Eurasian Latin mix, it's always been a challenge to match my mixed-kid skin tone without looking too pink or looking too olive. Tami was right on. Tami and Dena arrived at a comfortable time in the late morning to a stunning view of the vineyard. We had natural sunlight to work with. What started out being a bridal party makeup session extended to the boys wanting a little powdering. Will post pics of how hot our moms looked! I go here semi-regularly. The salon itself is a welcoming and charming space, at the forefront of Downtown Modesto. I get what I expect and beyond based on what I pay. Prices are very clear on site. I have had a facial, waxing of lip, eyebrows and underarms. I have only seen Jody and I really, really enjoy her. She is such a soothing and calming presence, shows genuine interest in conversations and is very personable. On my last visit, I met the owner and she was also very pleasant. Bonus-they sell Jane Iredale makeup which I love so this is super convenient. Jody is always so patient with me when I ask questions about the different products and assists me in finding the right tone/skin care for my skin. went in for airbrush tan. i am sorry but really disappointed with results. chose this place over the usual tanning place with machine tan spray system, mistake. my tan from waist down came out well, but from waist up, not so great. for what i was charged, definitely left me with a bad taste in my mouth, and uneven blotches on my side and arms and hands. maybe they need more practice on the technique, or the person who sprayed me wasn't in the zone or something. anyhow maybe they could BRUSH up on their technique. read more

Elise spends her time getting the black heads out and working on other trouble areas based on your skin type. If you have skin issues, she knows what to use on your skin to see results. Elise's recommendation for sun screen has made such a difference on my daily product use and health of my skin. This is an review update for the makeup services of Intimo. In preparation for my wedding day I made an appointment with Megan for a makeup application on the day of my wedding shower. I really liked what she did that day and the makeup felt great on my skin and stayed flawless all day even though I sweated in the sun. She asked me to come back a couple weeks before my wedding to try a different coloring and to feel more comfortable. (and she didn't even charge me to come back in). I was really grateful for the care that all the girls at Intimo took in making sure I looked and felt beautiful for my wedding. Just left Intimo feeling absolutely amazing!! I had a facial with Jody and a massage with Jordan and it was everything I had hoped it would be. I attended a bachelorette party last night and was feeling pretty awful this morning, but after my treatments I feel like a new woman!! The products they used left my skin glowing and rejuvenated. Jody really listened to my concerns about my skin and recommended a better skin care regiment than what I'm currently doing. Also they carry the Murad line, which is fantastic. I just did a quick 30 minute Swedish massage, but it was perfect. Jordan did a great job going over everything, so although it was short my whole body feels great.
