One-Star Review -- Excellent Doctor, but Billing Department Makes the Practice Impossible to…read moreRecommend I have been seeing Dr. Ferrer‑Bruker for over three years, with more than fifteen visits during that time. She is an outstanding physician -- so much so that I recommended her to my wife, who also became a patient. Unfortunately, the billing department has made continuing care here extremely difficult. As a veteran, I'm used to insurance taking a little longer to process, but in this case the delays were caused entirely by billing errors. Incorrect codes were submitted to my insurance, and I only learned about the issue when I received a second notice for non‑payment. I immediately contacted the billing department, but reaching a real person is nearly impossible -- you leave a message, wait up to three days, and if you miss their return call, the entire cycle starts over. When I finally spoke with someone, I was told the issue was resolved. It wasn't. Because billing waited so long to resubmit the corrected codes, I had to obtain a new referral from my primary doctor. Even worse, after three months of silence from billing, I received a call and a letter from a collection agency. At 64 years old, I have never been sent to collections before. It took multiple calls and another three months before the matter was finally cleared. Despite all of this, I decided to give the practice another chance because of how much I valued the doctor. But on my first visit back, I was told I would not be seen unless I provided a credit card to keep on file -- despite having a credit score in the high 700s to low 800s. After everything I had already gone through, this was the final straw. Veterans beware: The doctor is excellent, and the reception staff is warm, but the billing department is disorganized, unresponsive, and ultimately harmful. My rating averages out to one star: Doctor: 5 stars Reception: 4 stars Billing: -5 stars Great care isn't worth the stress of dealing with this billing department. My wife is looking for an other doctor as well now.

I've spoken with 2 supervisors who promise calls back and NEVER called back! I got my insurance on the line with them and they provided what was required and I still get multiple bill reminders for an $800 bill that I do not owe! Thankfully, I am insurance savvy and know that since I've met my deductible, that my portion is less than $20. My family members went 2 weeks before me and were billed appropriately. I also have been coming here for a few years and the bill came from Advanced Dermatology or the provider directly. Before my appt and at my appointment, I confirmed with my insurance and their office that Advanced Dermatology is IN NETWORK! However, BE AWARE - they will also bill you from "Leavitt Medical Center" who is NOT IN NETWORK so that they can bill you! I've had NO success in resolving this issue and I am infuriated that the supervisors will not reach back out and have not yet fixed my bill.
